OK specific set of circumstances here.

Looking for a Samsung LCD tv/monitor between $700-$900 usd (best net price) I can get most Samsung at or near cost but not sure which are considered good sets.

It will be primarily a console gaming/pc monitor with some tv/dvd watching. 720p native if possible.

I found this set

Samsung 23" Widescreen HD-Ready Flat-Panel LCD TV with HDMI and PC Inputs - Silver
Model: LNR238W

online for just over $700 but I'm not sure if its old tech/lesser model/etc.

Anyone know Samsung LCD's here? Or can point the way via links?

If the set is under $900 it doesn't have to be Samsung. I'm just trying to use my cost connections if I can.

Thanks!

The price will not be as low as you found it. But you can definitely still see what kind of quality they have. Now most Best Buy's will have them in HD resoultion (well not really but it is close) and some will have a coax hook-up just ask any sales rep and they should be able to help you.

I have the 32" model, they're fantastic. Highly recommended.

Thanks, Fowler. Checked it out today and was thourghly impressed by the color/brightness.

Two weeks to change my mind but it looks like a go.

Be a little careful. There have been some users in the UK having problems with tearing (kind of like a vsync thing) when using component 720p and 60Hz. Usually with xbox.

Might be worth reading up on AVSforum or similar (the UK forum was avforums.com)

Definitely going for the Samsung LN-R268W 26" LCD TV for right at $1200 shipped.

The extra 3" plus the HDMI input were the factors. Plus I've read nothing but great things - before and after seeing one in person.

I read the tearing issue and it seems to be SAMSUNG before the current models. A guy from a thread on teamxbox has experienced no tearing with his 23" so I guess it was solved.

Thanks to everyone who posted. Huge help!
