League of Legends Championship Series: Season 6

game was pretty bad, a lot of bad play on both teams, liquid showing old tendencies of really passive play when behind and renegades looked pretty inexperienced

i can see renegades getting better, there were a lot of mechanical mistakes in teamfights that can be nerves or whatever in their first game, tho the shotcalling was pretty darned suspect

liquid just, idk, i feel that it's gotta be a staff issue at this point, even since curse days they've been trash at shotcalling, and it never gets better lol

Just started watching LoL, use to only watch Dota. That match was the only match I've watched, but was good.

Twitch chat though because of Remi was fucking disgusting. Reminded me real fast why I turn chat off.

Yeah, you're better off for leaving it off for any LCS match. It's full of stupidity no matter who's playing.

yup, it's in your best interest to turn it off

we already have too low an image of humanity for it to sink any lower

hang out on this thread, people here are (generally) nice

I plan on it, got my new PC parts coming in next week and am looking to start up LoL again. Haven't played in years, but trying to learn the Pro scene while I wait.

besides froggen, keith and gate and mash played in lcs before

Will have to watch those later, much appreciated.

Late to the party, but I thought Remi had strong instincts and knew what needed to be done on Alistar, she just had execution problems. Probably worth working on at least a little mechanics -- she doesn't need a huge champ pool, people aren't going to spend three bans and a first pick on the support, but if your only standout champion is Thresh it's just too easy to take him away.

Team seemed a little sloppy and obviously nervous to play on the big stage, but if they can tighten up I think they had some potential.

By contrast I don't really get what the deal is with TL, like, you have to do a thing, just do a thing.

liquid has had a shy trigger finger forever, i'd say that's dom if that wasn't an issue back in the saint days too (tho less so since saint was crazy lol)

and yeah i think remi fudged a lot of alistar combos but i really liked how offensively renegades used the kalista ult and nerves is something that can be worked on.

overall renegades looked shaky but i guess that's understandable when 2 of your players are rookies and then you have alex ich and freeze and crumbzz who haven't played in like forever

this is all froggen

Echo Fox playing pretty solid LoL.

Isn't really hard to beat TiP at the moment. Let's see how they do tomorrow.

Man what a waste of a team in TIP.

Why is Rapid Fire Cannon the preferred zeal item? I haven't played that much in the new season :(

The others are more special-purpose (Shiv for waveclear, Hurricane for AoE, PD for dueling/splitting). RFC just gives you a little more single-target damage and that's always useful.

Man, Immortals vs TiP is gonna be a stomp tomorrow. Immortals is gonna be my go to NA team to cheer on this season. Love Reignover's jungling and his synergy with Huni.

Ehhhhhh.....might want to watch the TSM vs CLG match instead. FOX vs. TIP isn't really a good representative.

I was mainly watching just to learn about heroes for the most part, so for me it was ok. Obviously not top tier, but I did like the Renegade match even if they seemed a bit off in their win.

More excited to see tomorrow's matches. Gonna watch some Vids of the Korean matches though.

I'm glad that Remi isn't wearing the bandana and the camera isn't avoiding her like it happened when Renegades qualified. Felt like that was giiving power to the stupid people.

Hope she does great.
Pretty sure this was something she talked about at length with Riot and they changed a lot of production stuff because she asked for it.

After today, C9 looks lost without Hai. They lack the cohesion and the decisive call that he provides. Bunny is a good mechanical player, but he doesnt have the personality to demand his teammates to follow his call.

Knee-Jerk Biased Day 1 Season Predictions!

1st Place: TSM. They looked quite garbage, but it looked like mostly correctable issues, with the possible exception of Doublelift just looking really underwhelming. There's a broad field of uncertain teams trying to cobble things together, though, and TSM has an overwhelming advantage in terms of the experience (and just sheer quantity) of their support staff that I think is going to pull them through in 1st place despite what should be a pretty disappointing season.

2nd Place: Renegades. I dunno, out of all the teams present they just seem like the one that's here because they legitimately give a shit and not because someone threw a contract in front of them or because they've just fallen into a comfortable rut by being grandfathered in. I want to believe that counts for something.

3rd Place: CLG. This is sort of tentative, actually. There's something about the team I really like: Aphromoo seems to have become their "rock", and I honestly think he's a better player and shot-caller than anyone else their team has ever had, and is better at working with and nurturing other talented players besides. I feel like they're going to be rising again in the next split, but may have some growing pains sussing out their team identity until then.

4th Place: Liquid. They will embrace their destiny. Plus, they legitimately look like a 4th (at best) right now; actually they look more like a 6th, but I put a lot of faith in their support staff.

5th Place: Immortals. I didn't know what to expect coming in, but I liked the cut of their gib. They've got a pretty decent roster, and I think that's going to count for a lot with all these other teams trying so hard to find themselves.

6th Place: Echo Fox. I'm not a huge Froggen fan, but I think having a highly experienced player who isn't an unmitigated fuck-up (hi KiwiKid) is super valuable in the current NA climate, and at worst he's solid.

7th Place: Impulse. There's still a lot of talent on their roster, but as an organization god are they ever fuck-ups.

8th Place: C9. I dunno, I feel like that Summer split rally last season was mostly them being the beneficiaries of a meta shift that was unusually well-suited to everyone but Balls, and the true form of the team is much closer to what we saw last Spring.

9th Place: NRG. Not feeling this roster at all. Cris tilts harder than a two-legged table and I don't see a scenario where top lane stops being the decider in this meta any time soon. I expect personality clash to be a problem, too.

10th Place: DIG. They're the team equivalent of a tire fire, but after enough years even the guttering flames from those stop puking out noxious fumes and fade to dying embers, even if the stain left behind will never go away. Also, I think QTPie might be able to 1v5 their current roster.

Cris was just subbing for the day, Impact is their starting top laner. Also keep in mind that their jungle today was a sub as well.

I'm guessing Immortals will be #1 when it's said and done. CLG looks really strong too. TSM and C9 could be up there if/when they can get it together.

I just want this meme of "Cris is bad" to stop.

He's allegedly a rager and he hasn't put up good performances in professional play.
And I don't like his face.
It's not surprising people shit on him.

Also my friend played him in a normal game back in S2 or 3 and won so he must be bad.

Rewatching clips, I'm starting to really not understand how Dignitas can possibly throw at Baron so consistently across seasons and team members.

Like, at some point don't you just throw a clipboard across the room and say "okay, for this next match just never ever do baron even if they're all dead, just pretend there's no baron and see how we do?"

it's like a cosmic destiny thing

like curse and later liquid always going fourth

you can't fight fate

it's stronger than you

baron calls you

and you go

and then you throw

that is what it means to be dignitas

and you can't escape fate

ROSTER CHANGES FOR SUNDAY'S MATCHES

  • Hai will be starting for Cloud 9 at support against Echo Fox, subbing for Bunny
  • Dardoch will be starting for Team Liquid at jungle against TSM, subbing for IWillDominate
  • Matt will be starting for Team Liquid at support against TSM, subbing for Smoothie
  • Impact will return to NRG's roster at top
  • Moon will return to NRG's roster at jungle

Tomorrow's games:

REN vs NRG. Another interesting match, I think Renegades will pull it out.
DIG vs CLG. CLG's looking very strong right now and I think they win it.
TSM vs TL. TSM should have this one, all they have to do is anything.
FOX vs C9. The IMT game was so quick I'm not really sure how to rate C9 this year, so this will be a nice bracketing match.
IMT vs TIP. Looking like the game of the week.

I just want this meme of "Cris is bad" to stop.

Bad isn't the problem, most of the challenger NA top laners will readily admit he's better than them... when he isn't doing bizarre, stupid BS because he's apparently flipped his shit and decided to have a tantrum.

And that's fine for solo queue (sort of): you have a bad game, you lose your shit, and you call it a day because you're tilting. Not so good when you're in game 1 of a Bo5. Also not good when you have to keep playing with the same group of people day after day, and they slowly accumulate a resentment for your behavior.

That said, his raging is slightly overstated. If he raged as often as people make it sound like he does, he wouldn't maintain a decent elo.
