Ditto. My left-handed co-workers put the mouse on the left side of the keyboard, and I just find that so completely bizarre. I can't even think about working like that. Also, right-handed for scissors.

(As for sports, it depends on the sport. Baseball in high school phys ed? I batted right-handed. Archery in summer camp? I shot left-handed.)

Left-handed. I was also one of those rare types that were born with 6 fingers on one hand (my left) at birth. (Had the 6th removed shortly after, and all that's left of it these days is a wart-like stub.)

I can't do that stuff either. I learned how to use the right-handed stuff the 'right-handed' way, and haven't looked back since.

For the most part, the biggest adjustment I ever had to make being left-handed was getting used to using my left-hand for the NES d-pads back in the day because for years I had held the Atari 2600 joysticks with my right. :)

Look to the right

It's amazing how many lefties there are here. There must be something to this..Internet dorks seem to all be lefties while in the real world I rarely see them.

With that said.....I'm left handed.

I've noticed a lot of people I know that are into music [singing, instruments, etc.] are left handed. Also, lefties seem to show up more in my advanced classes. I'm sure there's a correlation, but it's not like all lefties are smart or gifted or whatever.

Lefty. For some reason, when I play basketball I shoot with my left, but I dribble with my right. I'll never get better until I learn to do both things with both hands.

i write lefty and hold a fork lefty but i kick and throw righty. right hand mouse, left hand scissors.

im all fucked up.

and why are geeks more likely to be lefty?

Yep.

Just about the ONLY thing I do with my left hand is write and hold the steering wheel when I drive. I do everything else with my right. I have far more power and control in my right hand than my left.

Because they get shunned and beaten up at school, and seek geekiness as their outlet.

Seriously though, it might have something to do with the fact that left and right halves of the brain and strong at different things... the left half been generally more sociable while the right half has a stronger cognitive spatial processing abilities... and people with stronger right halves are generally more incline to be left handed, and vice versa.

I'm left-handed but suck at art, tech and don't even like music. The trait must have been random in my case! Anyway what's the count so far o.o?

Righty, but I'm very capable w/ my left hand.

I'm far more comfortable dribbling a basketball lefty than righty.
I can shoot a basketball as a lefty decently, though I only use it when playing HORSE (since my friends can't even hit the rim from the FT line as lefties).
I can throw a baseball/tennisball/etc lefty passably but not that well.
I'm a switch hitter in baseball (originally only a RH and now more comfortable LH).
I can write passably as a lefty.

Right hand all the way.

And I believe that brings the count up to:

Left-handed: 33
Right-handed: 39
Ambidextrous: 5
Masturbate with left hand: 3
Masturbate ambidextrously: 4
Masturbate with right hand: n/a
Born with sixth finger: 1

I could do both. . .but I'm better with right. I broke my arm when I was in 8th grade, and I had to learn to write left handed. It's not pretty, but I could do it.

I'm left-handed.
I hate writing with my left hand (because you have to "push" the pen instead of "pulling" it) so I have had the idea of starting mirror-writing like da Vinci did, for a long time... does anyone have experience with this, any tricks how to learn it (besides "repeat, repeat, repeat") ?

I dual-wield. :lol

Originally left-handed in most standard things, like writing, but I can pretty much write with my right hand these days aswell.
Never ever used any 'lefty' accessories though (like left-handed scissors or PC mice), never seen the point.

if there is such a thing as being partially aombidextrous then I would say that. But I'm more inclined to use my right hand for most stuff just out of habit.

I can't write worth shit with my left hand. But in sports my left side is often stronger. I would bat left handed in baseball, play right handed for tennisracquetball, stronger on my left foot/pole in skiing, in soccer I was a *little* better with my right foot but not by much.

edit:

people always think I'm left handed too, because I wear my watch on my right hand, and I do a lot of mundane things with my left hand (picking stuff up and such) and I sometimes eat left handed.
