Do any other lefties have HORRIBLE handwrighting? I know mine's is atrocious...
Acrylamid said:I hate writing with my left hand (because you have to "push" the pen instead of "pulling" it) so I have had the idea of starting mirror-writing like da Vinci did, for a long time... does anyone have experience with this, any tricks how to learn it (besides "repeat, repeat, repeat") ?

Yeah, it's using both hands equally for everything. "A bit ambidextrous" makes enough sense though. And I figured that those people that used their right hand for some things and their left hand for others were pretty much ambidextrous since they don't strictly use one hand over the other.Pellham said:I thought ambidextrous meant one's ability to write or draw with both hands, not that one can write with one hand and do other things with the other. Cause you know, lots of guys do most things with their right hand, but then they might wipe their ass with their left. That doesn't make them ambidextrous.

The gap's widening.
Yeah, I know. I didn't count everyone that said they used their right hand for some things and their left hand for others, just the ones that were split pretty evenly.Zaptruder said:Most of those ambidextrous should really be counted as left handed...
It's just a natural function of living in a world where for alot of products, we might specify a handedness to them, but in reality they can be used initially at least without any handedness concerns.
Most lefties would probably operate on the left for fine motor control, such as chopstick use, drawing and anything similar that doesn't have a handedness priority (like scissors and mice do), and right for everything else.
A true ambidextrous is able to switch back and forth between left and right hands for all activities without needing to practice... similarly they can switch from right handed to left handed mouse usage easily... something I think isn't true for lefties accustomed to right handed mouse use.
Rei_Toei said:Ambidextrous. Right writing's better then left though. I play Squash with left and right, gives an advantage every now and then.
Kiriku said:Ambidextrous in a way. I write with my left for example, play sports with my right.
slayn said:I'm more inclined to use my right hand for most stuff just out of habit.
I can't write worth shit with my left hand. But in sports my left side is often stronger. I do a lot of mundane things with my left hand (picking stuff up and such) and I sometimes eat left handed.

I can pretty much write with my right hand these days aswell.
Never ever used any 'lefty' accessories though.
Agent Dormer said:Ambidextrous, favoring the left hand for writing, and the right for sports.
xsarien said:Ditto. Right-handed for scissors.
Baseball in high school phys ed? I batted right-handed. Archery in summer camp? I shot left-handed.)
Joe said:i write lefty and hold a fork lefty but i kick and throw righty. right hand mouse, left hand scissors.
AlphaSnake said:Just about the ONLY thing I do with my left hand is write and drive. I do everything else with my right. I have far more power and control in my right hand than my left.
Vormund said:I only write with my left hand. Everything else is right handed or at least can do with both.
I know it's not the exact definition of ambidextrous, but you couldn't classify them either way. Well, maybe Kiriku, Dormer, and Joe. But they're close enough. And I'd have to put slayn in the right camp.GDGF said:Ambidextrous is the new left.
