Any theories on the clank when successfully shooting enemies?

They make a big deal out of it so...I'm starting to think maybe the enemies are more industrial in this one. Maybe they all have a metal interior or something?

If you listen to the japanese version, you can hear it a bit better. it's just a slightly metallic sounding 'confirmation' sound.

Japanese TGA footage

I wouldn't look too much into it.

Idk. So far I'm kinda disappointed with this sound. Metallic sound means you hit a shield, so you didn't hurt the enemy to me.
Your idea will make it more logic, thought.

Who knows? When doing further playtesting, they just might find it less satisfying and change it on a whim. When playtesting, not everything is set in stone.

My biggest hope is that there's a decent amount of human/elf population in this world. Hyrule is so big, especially here, it always felt wrong for it to only have two or three population centres (Hyrule Castle Town, Kakariko, the Farm).

I'm hoping for a Zelda 2-like level of population.

Stop agreeing with everything I say. ;)

This just reminds me of Sonic 06.

Does that mean Link gets to kiss zelda in the end?

Uh oh, his arrow has bandages... this might actually be Zelda Boom.

Would be nice if we got Ruto, Saria, Rauru, and Nabooru back (those are town names in zelda 2, for people who don't know)
And that sneaky kasuto.

The Legend of Zelda: Big Dumb Empty Field of Time

The Legend of Zelda: You Can Go To Those Mountains

The Legend of Zelda: The Naturally Smart Horse

When do you think it'll get its proper name? What if its Skyward Sword 2? Lol, even if its related to SS in some way, I hope it has an original title.

Zeruda no Densetsu: Mononoke no Mori (ゼルダの伝説 ~物の怪の森~)
The Legend of Zelda: Specter's Forest

LoZ: Horses dont run into trees

Edit: On a side note: In the E3 trailer link has a blue outfit, in the new gameplay clip, link also has a blue outfit... initially i guessed they were both from very early in the game.. but the arrows are different in the E3 build (i think they were explosive too)... seems like its going to be awhile (if ever) before you get the green tunic.

I've scanned though some of this thread, and it amazes me no one has even brought up the horrible motion control aiming demonstrated.

Seeing that just killed the hope for me.

Because anyone who has used gyro aiming knows it's not horrible...it's easy than normal aiming actually. I played through the ENTIRELY of RE:Revelations on the 3DS using gyro aiming. It works incredibly well

The Legend of Zelda: Hunter's Arrow.

The Legend of Zelda: The Hero's Bow.

The Bow and Arrow seems to be quite important this time around.

yeah completley agree... Temple of the Owl... lol

Maybe this game is bringing back the animal theme that was intended in TP. We've seen horses roaming, we've seen what appear to be deer and goats. Miyamoto mentioned wildlife and insects. It'd be cool if each dungeon was themed after an animal, with enemies/treasure that matches that theme.

If this is indeed a mononoke inspired game where man/technology vs nature is the theme, then having each dungeon themed after animals would be a perfect fit.

Good analysis guys. Very fun and exciting to read. Can't decide who is right at the moment. Points 1 and 2 are the only thing 100% certain.

This is what I'm thinking.

Where's the GameExplain video for this new footage?

:P

no but seriously they should...

they did a short (half-hour) one saturday, they're working on what I assume is a very long frame-by-frame breakdown that will take several weeks of preparation just to watch

would be so awesome if ..someone these statues came to life ..shadow of the colossus style like that one enemy from the E3 reveal :3

The ancient ruins and mechanical enemies motif has so much potential, I hope they create an immersive experience paired with deep lore.
