LEGO Dimensions |OT| Not Lost Dimensions

I looked back a couple pages, and didn't see this mentioned:

I went to my local best buy yesterday and the back to the future level pack was on sale/clearance for about 12 bucks. If you have gamer's club unlocked, that makes it under 10, which would be worth it for the mini-builds alone. I was pretty happy to get it for that price! You may want to check your own store if you still need/want that set!

Thanks I just picked up BTTF with gcu discount.

Sweet, just ordered one for in-store pickup, thanks!

Amazon is price matching BBY on the BttF pack. $11.99 with them, in-stock on Tuesday.

What is the best way to get into this game? I want to the play the portal stuff but have no idea where to start.

I just jumped yesterday. You'll at least need the Starter Kit for your platform of choice. Then you can buy the Portal 2 level pack (which is hard to find at retail price right now) and you're good to go.

Guess I'm double posting, oh well, this game is too good.

Played through both the BttF and Midway packs. Each of them were fantastic experiences! Yes, the BttF story level is short. But the open world completely makes up for that! I'm loving the three time periods and the side quests within each. Midway was equally awesome and the story level was pretty lengthy too.

I'm really glad I picked this up over the weekend. But reading through the thread, I feel for those that paid full price back in September. I couldn't afford to pick all this stuff (starter, all 6 level packs and two fun packs) if it wasn't for the nearly 50% sales from the weekend.

GameStop is having a dimension sale for today only. 40% off levels, fun packs and team packs. Plus you can get the starter pack for $60.

Picked up most of what I was missing thanks to the sale. Just need about 4 fun packs and 1 team pack now to totally complete the collection. Can't wait to see what they unveil moving forward

Glancing through these threads it seems like the packs are always on sale in the U.S. Anyone in the UK seen any sales? Am I missing them? the only pack I've seen going relatively cheap is the Aquaman pack.

Also how do people think this is doing? I wonder if all those US sales are a good sign or a bad one? My son plays Infinity over it almost all the time and the only other person I know with Dimensions kids do the same (though obviously that's probably not going to last now). It feels like the packs don't give a great deal of game content to keep you coming back. Is there many people on here who jumped in at launch still playing Dimensions?

I just couldn't get over the funny world we live in where Michael J. Fox actually reprises the role of Marlene McFly... and for a video game.

Here is the rumored list for Year 2

  • Powerpuff Girls

harry potter/fantastic beasts will be brilliant. hope it's true.

I just want a sonic in LEGO minifigure form. So for that reason alone, hope he makes it.

Adventure Time is pretty much my dream lego theme (that and Peanuts), please PLEASE be true.

The rest I'm ho-hum about. Love Goonies but I can't see it making for very interesting minifigures. But it would be a fun game world, for sure. Teen Titans is a safe choice, I'd go for that. 2016 Ghostbusters is not going to be moving a lot of sets, so if they include it I hope it's limited to 1 or 2 sets (1 team pack or 1 level pack + 1 fun pack).

There's lots of other possibilities waiting to be milked. Now that Disney Infinity has closed shop, if we don't see Disney/Marvel/Pixar/Star Wars this year, I still think there's a big chance they'll be coming in the third year.

My hope is that the void left by DI leaving the market will help boost LEGO Dimensions enough to where we can get at least another year out of it in 2017.

There's no way they're getting it this year, it's simply too soon.

Supposedly the Dimensions developers had a three-year plan, and they couldn't have been planning on the Disney items. So even if they can get the license, we may not see the Disney stuff until 2018, if they don't want to junk their plans.

But given how opposed the licensees were to the Disney Infinity developers letting anybody cross over, I don't imagine that they'll ever get permission to use Marvel/Disney/Pixar stuff in Dimensions. (Star Wars is still possible. I don't recall the devs ever saying LucasFilm had a problem with crossovers, just the other three; and they were willing to let them be used in The LEGO Movie.)

You're assuming that they hadn't already worked a deal prior to Dimensions closing though if you think it's too soon for any of those properties. We have had rumblings of Star Wars coming to Dimensions for a while now.

There were rumors that TT had worked a deal to have Star Wars after DI had full exclusivity of the brand for DI3.0 since it was the major pillar for it.

It would have been easy to incorporate since they already had tons of assets as a result of TT making TFA LEGO game.

Not bad, it needs Ninja Turtles though. ;)

Speaking of which, I just noticed that the starter parks aren't on Best Buy's website anymore. I know they've been on sale off and on for $20-$30 off for the past few months, I wonder if that means they're gone for good.

I was under the impression that future expansions were going to be downloadable add-ons for the core game we already have. Is that not the case?

First they hinted at Harry Potter, now it seems like Adventure Time.

That rumored list is starting to become true.

Adventure Time legos will be really awesome. Finn is clearly a great Minifig choice but I wonder if Jake will be the 'vehicle' for the set, since his shapeshifting fits great conceptually for the multiple forms vehicles tend to have.

Either way, this should be a really fun announcement set.

We know they'll use the same portal, but that's all that we know.

There's been rumors that one of the leaked polybags is exclusive to a new edition of the PS4 starter.

Yooooooooo. That's a fuck of a list. I'm so down for this. I can't wait to get Finn and Jake figures.

Also, Mission Impossible????

Some of those are some weird choices. Mission Impossible? Huh? Plus, come on, Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts are the same franchise; they don't get to count it twice.

Just have to hope they make it to a season 3 and negotiate a license for Disney properties, now that Infinity is dead.

Guess it depends if they give each of them their own adventure world - one Hogwarts maybe, the other wherever Beast has - or if they combine them like the DC one.

Will be good to unpack my portal again for the year 2 stuff. I've been meaning to buy the Midway arcade level pack, but I still find myself annoyed at the price of them here in the UK.

Shall I just assume its really Sonic Boom & TT Go instead of actual good incarnations?

Shall I just assume its really Sonic Boom & TT Go instead of actual good incarnations?

Teen Titans Go is the good incarnation tbh

And it's also what's been leaked (set numbers with TTG in the title)

As far as leaked set numbers for Sonic though, it was just S, not SB, so seems likely it's the original video game stuff. We'll know for sure soon either way

Teen Titans Go is very obviously the version this game is going with. It's super-popular with kids right now, after all.

They're clearly going full in on the 80s nostalgia. Once again I don't know whether I should be happy or sad that there's no PC version. My wallet is certainly happy.

Hm,
Story Packs
sound interesting,
like a game within the game
?

Also, minifigs looking really nice. :)

The
Story Packs
are leading me to believe that either
there isn't another full fledged story campaign
or
an ENTIRE CAMPAIGN
will just be a free update.
