I could watch all 4 movies any time of the day, such an awesome action comedy movie series. Didn't need some comic (although Chris Rock was funny in LW4) to force the buddy cop jokes, just great chemistry between Gibson and Glover.

All hail Riggs and Murtaugh!

The black man everyone at Activision can agree on
3 has the worst(i.e. lamest) villain of the series and it's my least favorite... 4... well it's obvious in 4 that age is catching up with them, but 4 moves along well....and I think it has the distinction of being the only bad guy Jet Li movie.... adding Chris was nice for that movie... nice to see the series stopped IMO on a high note. 4 was nice and had a cute ending.

He played the villain (and the main character) in The One.

Yeah I should have remembered that... I guess because he plays both characters it slide my mine... I'm probably one of the few people that actually likes The One. May have to break out the DVD to rip it so I can play it on my PSP.... I like him as the bad guy in The One.. IIRC the ratched his evil character's voice down a few tonal levels to give it a more bad guy sound.

Leo Getz: Hey maybe we'll work together some day. I'm da bomb. They'll tell ya.
Lee Butters: Yeah, we're gonna be working alright, as soon as I open a cereal shop, ya fuckin' leprechaun.

Leo Getz: They fuck you with cell phones. That's what it is. They're fuckin' you with the cell phone. They love it when you get cut off. Y'know why, huh? You know why? 'Cause when you call back - -which they know you're gonna do. - -they charge you for that fuckin' first minute again at that high rate.

Lee Butters: You have the right to remain silent. So shut the fuck up. You have the right to an attorney. If you can't afford an attorney, we will provide you with the dumbest fucking lawyer on earth. If you get Johnny Cochrane, I'll kill ya.

Leathal Weapon 2 is completely forgettable. I actually like 4 more.

Lee Butters: Somebody took my phone number and called Afghanistan. Afghanastan. I've never talked to anyone in Afghanistan, I don't know nobody in Afghanistan, and even if did know anyone, I wouldn't talk to that Afghan ass for three hours. I won't talk to my daddy for three hours.

:lol Chris Rock was great in LW4

Hell, I've been trying to base a fiction story around that movie's basic premise for years because I liked it so much, god knows why :p

The first and fourth movies were the best. Good mixes of comedy and action. Lethal Weapon 4 is one of Chris Rock's only good film roles. The other two are rather forgettable to me.

Didn't 2 have the toilet scene?

And I grew up on LW1... seriously... I'd watch the beginning when I was like 3 years old to death. I dunno... just got a big kick out of the hooker on a bad high.

A precusor of things to come, I suppose. ...wait... what?

Hah Hah loved all of them

The Music and Sound in those movies are not praised enough
I'm gonna miss seeing those guys

4 Rocked JET LEE impressed the hell out of me, I became a huge fan after that

Funny story...so one day I'm in Borders and see that they have the 4-disc box set for sale. I love the movies so I buy the set. I get home, open it up, and find that someone took out the original DVDs and replaced them with blank CD-Rs. So now I'm thinking to myself, "Great, there's no way Borders is going to believe me." I gave it a shot anyway, asked to speak with the manager, and explained what happened. He actually believed me -- I was completely shocked. They exchanged it without hassle, and even opened it to make sure the new one was legit.

Borders +1

As far as the movies, 4 is definitely my favorite. After that, 1 > 3 > 2.

Awesome series that had some hysterical moments. The first flick is probably my favorite, but 4 is great also. In the fourth movie, the way Mel Gibson keeps calling Butters different names cracks me the hell up. The movie was on last night, actually, and when Gibson called him "biscuits" instead of "butters", I nearly spit out my drink. :D

Jet Li was a badass in part four as well.

People hated 4 when it first came out, but it ends up being one of the best. It's probably my favorite of all of them, but it needs the first three to work as well as it does.

After the first three they have everything established so anything after that is just fun with familiar characters.

1 was Awesome because Gibsons character was actually crazy. 2 was sort of blah and had a whole cashi in vibe to it. 3 was crap. 4 was awesome because the writing was clever and not Cliche and the cast seemed to be having fun.

The first was the best, such a great action movie. The second was okay but forgettable, as was the third. The fourth seemed less serious than the others and the characters were becoming paradies of themselves, but still a fun movie to watch.

And yeh the Lethal Weapon theme was pretty cool, the whole saxophone thing gave Lethal Weapon a distinct soundtrack.

The first three were pretty slick, especially part one. Part four was terrible though, it was far too goofy and over the top. Jet li was definitely the bright spot.

Awesome films. Especially the first two. It's fun how at the end Danny Glover ends in better shape than Mel Gibson (on the 4th).

The first one is still the best. Crazy Riggs, the water torture scene, Gary Busey burning himself with a lighter and the fight on Murthaugh's lawn.

I love the entire series. Could probably watch another four sequels if they made 'em. Murtaugh and Riggs is one of the coolest buddy pairing in movie history. Ranking the movies I'd probably go 1 being my favourite, then 4, 2 and 3. Favourite scene from all the movies is the rubber commercial in 2 :lol...it's just a classic. Oh yeah, Jet Li was beyond bad ass in #4.

When are they gonna re-release this collection on DVD? Cause you know it's gonna happen, probably a couple weeks after I finally buy the current set. :lol

I just wanted to say that I have never seen a LW movie. Never. Not that I've been avoiding them, its just never crossed my path. Same with the Die Hard films. And yes, I know tons of people who say they are great.

Joshua rocked.

if you see me in a fight with a bear, don't help me fool, help the bear!
I liked them all.. But having Jet in 4 was a let down for me.. being such a big fan of his and following his Chinese career, and seeing him flash his stuff earlier in the film.... it made me sad to even see those two hang with him at all in any sort of fisticuffs...

NO!NO!NO!NO!NO! (Danny Glover's best lines)

Imho Part 1 and 2 are the best. 3 was actually pretty bad, but 4 was a lot of fun, with Jet Li becoming the real Lethal Weapon that time around. I've actually seen all four in the theater, and with the exception of 3, I was happy with each of them.

The orginal ending for part 2 was that Riggs was suppose to die on the boat at the end. Guess they thought they could make plenty more money out of the series. :)

What made the first one so good dramatically was that Riggs was genuinely suicidal, since he had no reason to live anymore. No fear of death + special forces skills = great entertainment.

In the sequels, it seemed that Riggs just did crazy stuff because he was a wacky kinda guy.
