Since a lot of the other topics surrounding this ended up being mostly about the Remaster I'd kind of like to discuss the multiplayer. Are you interested in it and what do you hope to see? PVP, PVE, PVPVE?

Its my own personal hangup but I think A Multiplayer game should be its own thing, not some add on with a skin from a single player game.

The appeal of the first game was that it was a SP experience in an era when everybody seemed to be obsessed with multiplayer and MTX. This goes against that.

If it's like Monster Hunter, with weapons and armor being made from robot parts, it could be interesting. But I don't trust a Western company with tight Action-RPG gameplay, so i don't know.

The world, setting and lore.
There's potential here but I'd like it to be a looter/shooter type game. Something akin to Destiny 2.

If anyone got a problem with that

If it's next gen and has you take down tallnecks like they showed in the concept art then sure.

Because they have networking people that did the killzone stuff, for all we know that was originally part of their concept, like some co-op type thing where some village could help take down dinos or something.

I think they hit most of what they wanted out of the park with a few misses, but 20 million out of the gate for a new IP is nothing to scuff at. Maybe it was waaaay more ambitious then what we saw.

So I wouldn't be shocked if they reveal it was an idea they've already been working on or already had drawn up or something. If Sony is saying they are oking online stuff like GAAS, that might mean they give them the greenlit to continue that old idea or something. So maybe you uncovered that this concept art might give hints into some mode they were thinking about.

Horizon started as a co-op game. Theres video footage of it from the documentary.

Edit—-

I found it. They said the scope of it was far too big for the ps4 at the time and they couldn't make it as dense, detailed and nice looking as they wanted.

Very much!

I like the concept of Monster Hunter but have never liked the games. But with Horizon's production value, I'm very excited.

Machine hunting, parts, and crafting are mechanics that lend organically to the world of Horizon. With new weapons and tactics introduced in HFW, it can be super exciting. I'm all for it.

I can't think of any multiplayer potential here. The Horizon games are basically just Ubisoft open world games. The only way I can think of it if they make it a Monster Hunter like game. The world itself isn't interesting enough to warrant further exploration, though.

Hell yeah one of the most interesting worlds to explore in recent years. Its got everything it needs to make an online game.

Hopefully it's some sort of MMO but It's probably a Monster hunter type game (a good one not that clunky shit capcom makes).

Me with everything myultiplayer. This and factions have me excited but I'm very torn. I'm just a 99% single player type of person.

The single player games still exist and are excellent.

The world they've created lends itself well to other types of game so I'm interested in this and I'm not a multiplayer gamer.

They need to rework the melee to make it less horrible and make the creatures way harder if 4 dudes can coop to bring em down.

Not really THAT interested, no.

I'll be interested if you can either;

Take down enemy robots in the style of too human/dragons dogma, but in co-op mode with the game playing like monster hunter

Or

Let it be an MMO and I can have the option as playing as the Dinos so I can wreck other people's shit, like in the game Mind Jack.

A lot of people are assuming this will follow in Monster Hunters footsteps but an Ark Survival Evolved inspired game would be a much smarter investment.

Not sure how it would work. The gameplay is so balanced for solo play. Adding 2 or 4 players would easily break the ai.

But it also makes sense because taking down advanced armoured robots with bow and arrows makes me laugh.

If its a monster hunter type of game, hell yeah. If I can become a Thunderjaw, yes please. If its another BR game, no thanks.

I put 400 plus hours in Monster Hunter World before I got the Platinum. Some of the best multiplayer I've ever experienced. The gameplay loop combined with excellent gear/stat building is what kept me in that loop.

HZD literally has ever single component of MHW apart from the side companion. And quite easily improves upon a number of them. The loot system is already in place.
