Well if they're done right yeah they're great, but it's totally different from your usual fast food fries (they're thicker, double fried), so if you're used to those you might not like them as much as I do.

The traditional way to make them is also pretty unhealthy since they're supposed to be cooked in lard.

Done well I think they're absolutely delicious. Crunchy on the outside but just slightly soft inside.

Ohhhh I use to make my own fries at home in a fry daddy... holy shit they were amazing. They do sound good. Dammit, now I want to try Belgian fries. Why do this to me?!?!

Crunchy but soft on the inside is everything!

Hello GAF. Never posted here, but as I get older and don't really care what people think of me, I think I'm realizing that I'm bisexual, or at least bicurious.

One question I have for bi people, how did you know for sure? I've read the argument from gay people where they are asked "how do you know you're gay if you've never slept with a women?", and they throw back "how do you know you're straight if you've never slept with a guy? You just know!"

I however, argue that point of view. I don't think I know until I actually try something with a guy. I keep going back and forth. I can watch porn and enjoy it, but I typically don't look at guys when I'm out. I've jacked off with guys, but haven't done much besides that.

I don't know. Don't entirely know where I fit on the kinsey scale and just trying to figure it out I suppose.

edit: shit, talk in this thread is so casual, I feel weird now lol

Gay but just a reply anyway:

You can be attracted to men and women but not want to actually have sex or relationships with men. That’s a personal decision, but I’d encourage you to explore why you think you might find men attractive but not enough to engage with regularly like you seem to be ok with regarding women. It may just be that you are less attracted to men than women, but are still attracted to them none the less and that’s fine.

But let yourself try it safely if you think that will help you understand. If you are into them in porn then I guess be open to the idea that maybe exploring it could make it something you enjoy as regularly as female interactions. Maybe you just are coming to terms with how much you’d like to interact and will be more open to it after some exploration, but maybe not. There’s nothing wrong with being open to either possibility, that men and women are your thing, or that maybe you aren’t so inclined to interact with men after giving it a real chance.

Interesting take, I can agree with some of it. For example look at this music video about boys: https://youtu.be/mPRy1B4t5YA

That video doesn't really do anything for me, but I do watch gay porn. I think the attraction is on a raw physical level, certainly not a romantic attraction. I likely will be exploring a bit in the future, I feel secure/confident in my sexually, but not confident in where I stand and don't think I will until I explore a bit.

speaking from experience, that feeling of uncertainty may not disappear until you have...some experience. nothing and no one should stop you from identifying however you want though. it's not up to anyone but you to decide who and what you like and how you like them, and how you identify.

It’s very possible to have sexual desire or a desire just to experiment, but not have romantic urges. But it is also quite common to think you are not interested in any sort of regular or relationship contact with men when you haven’t been familiar with it long or come to terms with your identity yet.

Either way, I’d say just find a way to try interacting with other gay or bi men in a setting that feels safe and attractive for you. Be open to it evolving into something more for you if you enjoy it, but be ok with whatever identity you end up at, even if it means you have a lesser interest in male interaction and don’t find it romantically attractive for you the way women may be for you. There’s multiple sliding scales at play and you’re allowed to have both, some, or neither of the separate sexual and romantic feelings for men and women you are considering.

Saying you are bi doesn’t have to mean you are telling people you equally feel the same thing toward all genders.

McDonald's fries are gods gift to mankind.

Sorry to break your heart but McDonalds is my least favorite of the big 3 (Wendy's Burger King and McDonalds) and the fries are one of my main reasons why. This girl only swears fealty to the one true king, the burger king! :3 I do enjoy the occasional mcdouble and really love their Reese's Mcflurry though, the things I'd do for Reeses and Gummy Candy..... >_> haha

Hello! Welcome to the thread! I stole all the free cookies/brownies Gibbs gives out though sowwies!

Speaking as a Bi woman who while has no dating experience with either sex but has engaged in sexual acts with men it certainly is something I've thought about in the past. For me personally while haven't no actual dating experience I have had attraction to both men and women I've encountered in my life. To get a bit more detailed I'd say it's easier for me to find a woman that I have attraction to because my preference in physical attributes has a preference for that sort of thing and it's why the men I'm physically attracted to tend to have less/not much muscles and less typical masculine physical traits overall. On the flip side it is easier for me to get emotionally attracted to men over women for reasons I can't really explain which is why I tend to spoil all my in person guy friends. Long story short I personally don't think it matters much with having/not having experience, for me I just know based on how I feel on the inside.

On an unrelated note eeesh all you beautiful couples in this thread! Haha

If you notice you're attracted to people of more than one gender, not necessarily to the same degrees and not necessarily in the same way, that is pretty bi. I knew for sure when I stopped both overthinking it and underthinking it, stopped finding ways to say that particular attractions don't count.

Being bisexual doesn't mean you have to be into all genders equally - you can be 99% into women and still be bisexual due to the 1% attraction to men. Some guys who fit that description may identify as straight though. As Sai-kun said, it's really up to you to determine how you want to identify.

it's probably just a consequence of me being a jerk who hates people that dont agree with me but i just find it so fucking weird that anyone could be adamant in being 100% heterosexual in 2017 unless it is just a front to cover their insecurity

I feel Wendys has the worse fries. They're garbage but they have amazing chicken sandwiches. Burger King fries are ok but thats it.. I LOVE reeses and gummy bears <3

You deserve all those cookies and brownies. There are always more.... even themed cakes. Crayons got a penis cake. Good stuff.

Mucho <3 still. Perhaps its tasty. I may never know.

This. I find females can be extremely attractive and beautiful, but I have no desire to sleep with one nor have a relationship with one. I think I could possibly connect on an emotional level but thats it, nothing physical. Sometimes if I am extremely horny I do think what its like to plow a chick but it comes down to fantasy of a MMF and eh... I lose interest after I jerk and thats it. The male is what would keep me going since I'm gay. Depends on the day, its not all the time, etc.

Yes, I understand this well. I know it doesn't mean 50/50, but I guess I'm trying to figure out on a scale from 50-1, where my bisexuality falls. I have been talking to a couple guys and we might get together and we'll see what happens.

If you notice you're attracted to people of more than one gender, not necessarily to the same degrees and not necessarily in the same way, that is pretty bi. I think this is sort of where I'm at. I stopped overthinking it, and admitted "Yeah, I'm bi". I guess I wondered in the past if I was like my girlfriend, who can enjoy lesbian porn, but only because she can relate to the girl, or imagine herself in her position. I know my enjoyment isn't like that now.

Welcome!

Thanks!

I feel comfortable saying that I'm bisexual, but heteromantic. I think I could date a guy, but I don't think I could ever marry or even have a serious relationship with a guy.

it's probably just a consequence of me being a jerk who hates people that dont agree with me but i just find it so fucking weird that anyone could be adamant in being 100% heterosexual in 2017 unless it is just a front to cover their insecurity
I understand this to an extent. I understand people not being interest in the same gender sexually, but I find it disingenuous when guys cover their eyes and yell "gross" when a penis pops up in a movie or something. Relax bro, you're just looking at it, it's not gonna pop out of the screen and into your mouth. It's a level of sexual insecurity that's been perpetuated by society; that you're insta-gay as soon as you see a naked male.

Or, not being able to recognize when a male is handsome.

"Brad Pitt is pretty handsome, eh?
"Don't ask me I'm straight"
"...Yeah I know?"

I get what you're saying but at the same time I feel like I'm 100% gay, so I don't think it's unreasonable for someone to think they're completely straight. That being said, I'm not about to go around yelling "no-hetero!!!" from every mountaintop, so it does make someone seem insecure if they feel the need to regularly proclaim their straightness.

Anyway to further illustrate my gayness, take this example from the already iconic mv, Boys:

If a woman did this at me, I would just frown and ask if she needs a napkin or something. If a man did... well I... it's just... *thud*

I had not realised until now that James Ivory had written this. Up to the top of my most wanted list it goes.

The reviews have been absolutely glowing. And it's not just that they're positive; it's the kind of things they are saying. Stuff like "subverts the themes of suppression and shame that are often tied to queer love stories" make me quite happy.

It was hard at one time for me to comprehend single-sex attraction, like I was thinking 'people say they get lost in this person's eyes but those eyes in a different gender would be the same thing' or 'but people think someone is attractive from behind and then they turn around and see they assumed the gender wrong and now aren't interested'. But I figured out that assumed gender context that changes what a stimulus (body part, personality trait, action, etc) into attractive or not for these people.

Also the idea that "everybody is bisexual" has been used dismissively by people who think they are being so supportive and progressive. It doesn't take bisexuality seriously as its own thing. And 'everybody is curious sometimes' kept me from figuring stuff out for a few years.

we all think this video is sexy tho right

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=VCLxJd1d84s

that’s like a law of gravity to be internally confused by that video right
I would be interested in responses to this. Is it that a sexual context makes things sexy? It is 'generalised sexiness'? Or that a lifetime of women's sexualisation has its effect? Or the bi recruitment rays are working?

It doesn't do much for me though.

I agree. Kind of boring. It's not even the kind of thing where I watch it and I think, "Someone else would be into this." It's just so.... blasé.

Morte is the best. This reminds me that I got the updated version on Steam and that I should be playing it.

So the consensus is DOWN is bi and straighter than me. 😋

Sexuality is linear and this is the way it totally works.

Does it have attributes you can recognise? Like, no sexual attraction, possible attractions to which genders for example?

I changed out every character in that game except for Morte. I needed to make sure I saw every wisecrack possible. I also need to replay it, but I keep getting interrupted by all these kickstarter games getting released.

I've only played it once, years ago, and it was a real struggle because of various technical issues but I really enjoyed the story (the combat mechanics....).

I had a pretty Catholic upbringing which is all no sex until you're married and so I got really good at not thinking about sex. Possibly too good even though I'm not really Catholic anymore. And then it was partly scheduling, I wasn't sure how many hours a week I should try to leave free for an SO and then I invariably figure out new and inventive ways to fill those hours.

Gone on dates with a few guys, felt nothing (also have a ton of male friends, but basically only feel friendship). Considered trying women, mentioned it to my mom once when I was a teenager, she told me that I liked guys, so I just was like "okay" and basically that was the end of that. Though, I dunno if the fact that I remember a two sentence conversation from ten years ago just an artifact of my weird memory or if that means something.

Also, just super dumb with romance stuff, like I go out of my way to avoid noticing people hitting on me. Like, the sort of dumb where everyone else notices except me.

Sorry, I kinda tend to overthink things and consider all the ways my own thought process could be biased by my environment. Useful for science, not so much for stuff like this. It's just like a constant "what if I'm wrong? Run another test case" situation. But you know, you can only do so much modeling before you have to actually just run the damn experiment and find out.

Yeah... so I had only played some tabletop 3.5 DnD when I first played P:T so I actually played like the first ten hours of the game with an AC of like 13, not realizing that in ADnD, you want the lowest AC possible. And then I was really confused why I was dying all the time. XP

I think at some point I just bit the bullet and looked up what THAC0 was and it was a big "oh" moment as everything suddenly clicked.

Torment: Tides of Numenera, I felt achieved the balance of deciding how much combat you want a lot better. Granted, it's a different system, but I was able to go through the entire game with like five combats, three of which were not so much combats as turn-based run away segments.

Do you know know about asexuality?
http://www.asexuality.org/?q=general.html
Maybe the Doubts and Fears questions would be relevant to you?

I've considered it, sure. I don't know if that's an easier or harder answer to accept.

The really funny thing about all of this is: I study mating behavior for a living (in microscopic worms, but still). Those worms make it look so easy!
Looking for relationships after a day of that would just feel like more work. :)

Yeah me neither.
