Total worldwide sales for Lies of P have surpassed three million units, publisher NEOWIZ and developer Round8 Studio announced.

They are including sales of the DLC in the 3 million as well.

"The cumulative sales of 3 million units include both the main game Lies of P and the DLC Lies of P: Overture (released on June 7 this year), and represent the total number of digital and physical copies sold across platforms such as PlayStation®, Steam®, and Xbox."

Right? I thought it was a hit 🤣

But yeah, I honestly thought it'd be way more
Same. I would've thought by now 5m easy.

Yikes for them. No wonder the dlc took so long lol… they hade no funds to make it.

Good sales I guess, since the game launched on gamepass on both pc and xbox.

Also, at launch the game was quite hard, which probably didn't help with the sales.

Seems low, I guess this is the gamepass effect. Lots of talk. Not saying it's bad BTW, hopefully they got good money for Gamepass access.

Great, I LOVE Lies of P. The game is very special to me. The phonograph is the best use of music ever in a game.

My only concern when playing is if I should boot up Quixotic or Feel.

3m is not low sales folks.

That said I wish it sold more, but also there is something special about being in on a well kept secret gem.

Never played it but why are some saying it's low? Isn't this suppose to be extremely high for a game with this budget? The base game seems around the same budget than Wukong and Stellar Blade. It's definitely higher in budget than either of them with its DLC but still way lower than the higher AAA games. So 3 million seems a lot for this.

It is almost 2 years old and beloved by the souls community. It is to many on par or better than what From Soft are doing. It has 1829173263287 youtube videos and play throughs and lore dumps and all that.

Expedition 33 eclipsed 3m already and just came out couple months ago, new IP and AA budget as well. Which was also on Gamepass so that negates that argument.

I would consider Lies of P a little better than Wukong but both are good. It's crazy how much China showed up for Wukong. They must've marketed the shit out of it but 25 Mil in sales for a debut from a studio is unheard of.

Didn't play yet after trying the demo which felt like Bloodborne from Temu, like man this studio doesn't have a creative bone in their body? Everything ripped of 1:1.
Seeing some people praise it so I might give it a chance later down the line.

3m seems pretty decent for a game like this?

People have lost sense of what good sales look like for most games.

Street Fighter 6 is one of the biggest games of the generation and it sold 5 million copies.

I'm sure no one would assume Lies of P was a top 25-30 selling game of the generation (HD games). So 3 million for games like this and Stellar Blade are actually quite an achievement.

For frame of reference, the best selling Killzone games never really cracked 3 million copies individually (though they were always one platform exclusive).

Its a hrd game...i am actaully surprised...cause once we hit the 1 milion milestone i was sure we were gonna get a 2 million milestone post and we never did so i was worried.. fact that its 3 million is amazing. si deserved.

some of these comments man...i bet if it was a sony game they be saying amazing sales! so good, goty....

For those wondering why the number's not higher, remember that this launched on GP and it was a studio's first game, which makes the comparions with games like Sekiro even dumber.

I'm guilty of having played Pinoccio's game on GP, might purchase once I'm in the mood for a replay, game's superb.

When you consider how much advertisement the game got, how much praise it received, and the fact that it launched at 60 bucks instead of 70 2023, it puts into perspective that this was not a smash hit.

I'm sure it's a good number for the studio, but it doesn't elevate them or secure them for the next decade or something - South Korean wages are just a little lower than Japanese.

It definitely is a faster selling title, but E33 also launched at 50 dollars as compared to 60.

Again, this is a game that benefits from a less bloated team in a much lower cost center. A success for Sandfall and one that should be congratulated.

Are either of these titles "lessons" for the industry as they're made out to be? I would argue no. As much as people say that companies like SE should learn from them, think about the numbers. Assuming that each copy so far has been sold at 50 dollars, they take away 115.5 million. As it was on Gamepass, let's also add another 34.5 million as a guess, just to get it to 150 million dollars.

Is that the kind of money SE wants to be taking away even within the launch window of their major titles? The answer is a flat no.

Yeah, and they don't make Killzone anymore.

You did not pass the opening area my guy.
Not to say the game isn't Bloodborne inspired (cause it is), but a 1:1 copy is some serious levels of delusion.

I feel like Lies of P takes some of the best parts of every FromSoft game, but adds it's own flavor to it. It feels familiar, but not quite identical to anything else.
