Does anyone think Rachel had the same power as Max before she disappeared? Maybe the reason she disappeared is because of overusing the powers or something.

I don't think Rachel had the same power... (she really could so that's some way she can get along well with everyone but Victoria), but look more like she have been kidnapped/killed and you have to uncover who did it? the teacher (who make up with her), the principal (and that's why is he now on alcohol), a student, Chloe step father? the janitor?

The tornado is so obviously linked to her powers. Max saving Chloe has set a chain of events into motion that will culminate in the tornado hitting the town.

I mean, for a game that has such a grounded art style, the tornado looks very otherworldly.

Yeah, that seems to be the most "likely" possibility, but it would be interesting if Rachel's disappearance isn't related to murder/kidnapping.

Ya felt Alone in the Darkish the way that info dropped. Interesting if true. I still wonder if the entire thing is going to wrap up as "you can't change the past in a major way." Because other than discussions and so forth the power she has is limited to her seeing it and doing it and a very short timeline. It just feels like all the connections to past and present liker her leaving and coming back is all going to well up as...life is a snapshot take it otherwise its over.

Given how Kate was acting, the amount of other characters taking the piss and her not wanting to talk to Max about it I think it's legit.

I wonder why Chloe's stepdad is so obsessed with Kate though, something just isn't right there and maybe it's something to do with the video but I hope not.

Also he's the one wanting much stricter security around Blackwell isn't he? Makes me think something happened to Rachel on campus that he knows about.

So I have a theory in that yes she did have the power Max has. Even though it's episode 1 we're basically becoming he "new Rachel". We're going around as a complete nobody who now has something in common with everyone.

^ Apply that to everyone you meet outside and we've now established a connection to everyone/became friends; the same thing that Rachel was doing. Why else would someone like Rachel have much in common with everyone. It's the same reason we do, to get to now everyone better.

On the topic of David. I think we're being led to believe he's a dick(which he is by doing a '5 frame startup light punch' to Chloe). But he reason he's capturing picture of Kate is because he's using it as evidence to prove Kate was being bullied. We never heard the full conversation between David and Kate on the way to meet Warren but I'm sure we all thought he was harassing her.

On the topic of Rachel having powers, I'm sure that (full) picture of her with a Blue feather(Max and the Blue butterfly) ear stud thing being easily visible and eye catching was placed there for a reason.

I'd like to think the game is smarter than that though.

Rachel had the power but lost them. Most likely do to overuse. We already see Max straining with them. She's physically hurt when using them. I'm guessing Rachel uncovered something about the "Vortex club cult" or someone in town and got in over her head and was unable to rewind. Either that or she was snuck up on before she could rewind, as we don't know the limits of the power when it comes to unconcious control. Having time control abilities might not be helpful if someone shoots you in the back of the head before you notice.

Nah. He's being way too confrontational in his conversations and his files say "She knows something!" about her. More than likely he's onto whatever lead Max will be in the series and will go about it in his own dickish way.

Probably related to Nathan given Kate's "sex tape" and Chloe's report of his attempt to rape her involving a camera.

Yup, that is exactly why I think Rachel had the same powers as Max. I find unlikely that so many people would like her otherwise.

I think so too, it's either the consequence of Max's powers growing stronger and causing problems with the timeline or it could be the other way around. What if someone else with powers is causing the tornado on purpose (maybe Rachel, maybe Cloe, "don't trust anyone") and Max got her powers in order to stop the other person from destroying the town?

In her flashforwards/dreams, she's always being led by a deer (spirit animal, Native American connection?); Maybe she(we) will save this deer in a future episode and this set's things off? When Max is in the garage, she looks at the deer's head and is disgusted by the idea of hunting just for trophies; She also makes a statement about how "Cloe would never use cosmetics based on animal products". Max grew up in this area, maybe she's part Native American and more in tune with the animals than she realizes?

If you talk to other characters they describe Victoria as not liking Rachel, but respecting her. Which seems like the path you'd go down if you comfort her.

I was surprised Max didn't instantly notice Chloe's dad is the security guard. She saw a bunch of pictures of him at the house but it's like she didn't put 2 and 2 together

Took quite a while for her to find out, I was like "it's him!!!" every time she looked at a picture and wondered if it her dad was a cop or so

I think they just failed with the scenario writing there.

Oh! I got that wrong then. That's also quite silly on his behalf. I mean, maybe he is just testing, but if he actually want to use that, it's very inpractical. You can't look at all cameras at once and he has constantly to switch through in the hope to see something. Also he can't stay all day on that thing. He has a job after all.

Well, there's a picture with Chloe without her beanie on in the game, and since she looks happy we can assume it was shot when Rachel was still around (at least 6 months prior, then). Hair like that can get to shoulder length in about 6 months, so it's a possibility I guess. And yeah, as you said there really isn't anyone else with blue hair so far.

Whoa, weird. Well you know, Madsen has a special interest in "protecting" Chloe, aka making sure he and Joyce don't have any trouble on their hands. If Chloe gets busted for something, it comes back to him. So I can see him being SUPER protective of Chloe in that controlling kinda way.

Honestly, best line in the game so far. I totally wanna use it one day if it wasn't so damn angry sounding.

Minor thing, but since this game is sort of 'good-not-great' 3D, it means basically all the females in this game have short hair or ponytails.... Bah. I can't wait for graphic technology to reach a point where hair is a lot easier to manage and create.

I can't decide if I've played this the wrong way or not. I played through ep 1 as if Max was a real person, so I didn't really snoop around or look st everything I could interact with.

Example: I ignored the pregnancy test since hell, that's definitely not my business, and I didn't rummage through everything in Chloe's house, even though there seems to be a big load of stuff that would be interesting to know.

I think I'll go back and do those things on another save file, and do every first playthrough of upcoming eps like I did ep 1.
