Life is Strange | Spoiler Thread

I actually find it pretty believable that two 18-year-olds who have seen a photo of a girl apparently dead on a spot and find a dead body buried on that same spot assume that the body belongs to the girl in the photo. Even more believable because one of them is emotionally attached to her and there hasn't been a missing person in tons of time. Now, Nathan and Jefferson may have taken a bunch of dead birds, bury them and put Rachel's clothes on top, hence the smell and the assumption, who knows at this point, but the doe fading.....I do think it's Rachel's body.

Yeah, and the way the scene played out with the music, etc, leads me to mostly believe that she is actually dead. But, I still thought it was weird we never really see her, just the reactions from Chloe and Max

so... what does this mean from Nathan's files?

Was Nathan just helping David just so he could stalk the girls for Jefferson?

Room 217

"no way in hell am I ever going in there"

stellas room, dialogue from episode 1

I like that Stella's made out to be creepy, but given she doesn't have a profile on the character screen and we've only had one scene with her (unless you talk to her optionally) I don't think she'll be important.

On another topic, what do you make of the two moons? From the moment the girls get to the party to the moment they leave, two different realities collide? Well, Warren's selfie is right in the middle of that, so we may get answers during Ep.5
Maybe is because I care about astrophysics and such but I cringed hard at the eclipse and the two moons. The snow, the whales and birds dying I do like, they're creepy and ominous. But an actual eclipse, and a second moon... like, what the fuck. How would anyone work/party or do anything if that actually happened? Plus, we have to assume this can only be seen from their town, but they're events that can actually be photographed? Scientist and press from all over the world would be swarming the village, civilians would probably be evacuated, maybe? Who knows.

It could be just me. Maybe some people who care about whales or birds finds THAT part preposterous but doesn't care about the moon stuff.

aside from he fact the Jefferson hired her for the job?

she's the mole

Reading all these theories and playing this last episode has made the game a lot more interesting. And to think at first I thought it was just a hipster variant of a Telltale game. How wrong I was! :D

What if the double moon was a red herring? Double moon can actually happen and there's nothing supernatural about it, no?

Edit: Seems it happens extremely rarely and the second moon is actually Mars. Nvm.

I I just want to say that I thought it was very sobering that most of the fan base thought that Rachel Amber had time powers and somehow blinked herself out of the universe but the reality of it was that she was just dead and buried in the ground in a town ruled by a corrupt family that has no stake in finding the body (and might actually be on Jefferson's side anyway).

I personally freaked the hell out of everything that has happened, with the snow being the weakest thing. The eclipse was creepy, the dead birds and whales would be enough for me to move elsewhere xD

Funny thing is that the two moons had apparently just shown up when Max and Chloe arrived at Blackwell, because Brooke says she hasn't seen them, so they appeared after she got into the party, I'd say. I wonder if finding Rachel's body was the trigger....

It would totally mess stuff up IRL, wouldn't it?

However, i could suspend my disbelief over that. So if we presume the second moon is simply an echo from a parallel universe, which may become clear in episode 5 (or is from the Chloe-disabled timeline) it's a temporary, almost ethereal occurrence that obviously only happened for about 5 minutes while Chloe and Max were on the scene. Even if someone did take a photograph, chances are it would be fobbed off as a hoax or a hallucination.

The eclipse was pretty weird though, and we know the town did take notice of that

I just thought about Samuel.

As far as I remember, one time when you constantly check the shack, you happen to find some pictures of a girl (Was it Rachel?).

Are there any theories about that?

We can actually see Samuel having Rachel's missing poster, photos of her, fashion magazines, girl stuff and a silk scarf, so something is obviously up with him lol

Up until we found Rachel's body, I thought he was hiding her, now I don't know why he has all that stuff.

Does anyone think Jefferson might be aware of Max's time travelling abilities? I don't know how he would be, but in the last scene it almost seemed like he dosed Max to disable her rewind.

Owls are wisdom. We don't know if Jefferson has occult knowledge or not. I say he does and it's connected to what he does.

Yeah, like I referenced earlier I certainly think there's something going on with that. Was pretty careful taking 'em down in the end there.

I feel like the Samuel character got dropped from the story overall. He seemed to have some kind of importance early on, but not so much after that.

One has to wonder how the Roof door in Episode 2 was open, though.

There was some squirrels around the barn...maybe his spirit animals will tell him what happened to Max. After all he did say they tell him secrets :P

I'd be more happy with picking Jefferson if it made any sense in the story at that point. Max's reason for blaming him is fairly weak (he made her cry in a conversation), while she essentially knows Nathan practically date raped her at that point.

man, the more i think about warren's "i know how to be invisible" line the more it bugs me, but i'm probably thinking too much

Warren is going to be the key to saving the day and all of you that bashed him will feel bad. He took that photo of you while there were still two moons in the sky and while Jefferson still thinks he has the upper hand. It could be a key moment to go back to.

I don't think he is super invisible. If anything he got some kind of precognition that enables him to be where he needs to be to save Max. Invisible Warren would be super creepy.

"I am watching over you, Max. Always, always."

He's a silent guardian, her watchful protector...

I was thinking of this, there's also the selfie Max takes in Jefferson's class and the one she and Chloe take together in episode 3. I'm thinking we might go all Apollo Justice nipping between the past and present... Are there any photos I'm missing?

The one she ripped up in the bathroom

The blue butterfly photo Chloe took from Max is mandatory too, and you can interact with it on Episode 4 (Chloe's wallet in her room)

Well, you're not supposed to think it's Jefferson until the reveal, which is kind of the point. Him getting Kate to cry put her over the edge because she said 'you can't help' basically saying she's hopeless, and given her situation has no one to turn to for help, so suicide.

It's a small thing that led to an explosion. That's why you'd blame him.

EDIT:
I think we're forgetting Max's photo that she tore up. Half of it ended up in Nathan's hands (and presumably Jefferson). The other half was still in the bathroom for anyone to pick up.

That doesn't seem in character to me. He's not asking for the straw that broke the camel's back. Nathan is the other huge pile of hay on the camel's back, at this point in the story, to Max. So to not blame someone that seems to have clearly raped or nearly raped several girls over someone that was callous doesn't fit to me.

It'd be one thing if it was like, between David and Jefferson, but with the actual person that did various actual horrific crimes against Kate as an option, choosing him feels hollow.

At that point the only hard evidence you 100% will have is Jefferson making her cry because it's in the way of you progressing the story. You don't have enough evidence to prove Nathan drugged/raped her at that point, and you may not have David's encounter with Kate via photo.

KNEW Mr Jefferson isn't the nice guy that we were led to believe since the beginning.

Did you expect him to be the one who set up the trap, though? I didn't really trust Jefferson, but I was legit expecting Nathan at the Junkyard. Even if you knew Jefferson was up to no good, his bait was legit.

As a teacher, part of Mr Jefferson's responsibilities are to pay attention to the emotional and mental well being of his students. His victim blaming of Kate despite knowing everything about the video and bullying that was going on was just about the most shitty thing you can do as a teacher and is wildly irresponsible for someone in his position. In the real world, any teacher in Jefferson's position would have very probably lost their job.

It's possible Samuel is in on it and was responsible for disposing of evidence. I could also see the principal being complicit. (There was that weird meeting they had at the end of Ep 2.)

Jefferson's role at the party very much confused me btw. Like this is obviously a party rife with underage drinking and he's there to announce a school related award? What was going on there? This is like the shittiest teacher of all time, ignoring the fact that he drugs women, could be a rapist, and has killed at least two people.

The party seems to operate in some kind of quantum state where it's simultaneously an official school event and an unofficial "fun thing". Given that it's funded by the Prescotts and the fact that Warren and others appear to have been drugged I think it's linked to the storm - possibly knocking people out so that they can't survive / aren't aware of the storm.

Did not. I thought he was still at the party, so I was still surprised by the fact that Jefferson somehow made it at the junk yard before them.

Good to see I wasn't the only one stabbing away at the rewind button during the ending cutscene.

Would have been interesting if you could rewind a bit, but all options lead to the same end and Max tires herself and her power out.

Samuel's definitely related to Rachel, and to add up against the principal we have the whiskey in the dark room, same bottle he has hidden in his office. We may be facing a major creep team here lol

Let's add the science teacher since she was fighting David on the surveillance issue. But it actually makes sense of the network is big and involves key people.
