Yea, Bae > Bay, but Bae wants to give herself up for Bay.
Where do you stand now? Go against Bae's wishes?
I can almost see why the last choice has gone 50/50.

1) it's a small town, seems like the kind of place where everyone knows everyone and where people would go to the funeral of someone even if they aren't the closest of friends, maybe some kids were there because their families/parents had some kind of connection to Chloe through her motherThe ending really left me frustrated, like why did Warren, Kate, and Victoria, among others attend Chloe's funeral? Or the logical coherency of what's reset by Max's time jumps. Or how Jefferson might walk away in the Save Arcadia Bay ending because everyone would assume the Dark Room is Nathan's private torture chamber.
If there was one complaint I have about the game, is that Episode 5 changes so much from Butterfly Effect themes into full-on Jacob's ladder. They came close to convincing me that the entire power-thing was going to be in Max's head and revealed as her coping mechanism - which dulled the impact of final choice coming shortly after.bcom33 said:Given how ridiculous the events of Episode 5 were up to that point, I hardly trusted the end choice options when they were presented to me.
I haven't seen to many people bring this up, it's quite a passive moment for Max, but Nathan's final voicemail, that's fucking tragic, man. He's clearly just a poor guy that really needs some sort of mental help, he's clearly an asshole, but the pressure of his father combined with Jefferson's twisted influence makes things infinitely worse. Nathan might have got it worse than anyone in the end.
.
Yeah, I had the same thought. Didn't feel sorry for Jefferson at all, but I was worried about the potential consequences. I mean, it's pretty clear he shot him after he had him tied up and everything. There's not really a defense for that.
Did you guys play Remember Me? I got it on PC for cheap a while back. Might check out DONTNOD's other game cuz I heard it has cool concepts too. I read the combat isn't the best but I'll give it a chance.
I actually expected Mark to be a time traveller and that he was causing the nightmare.

Best moment of the entire series?
The funniest part is that there are like three ineffective methods where David trusts you blind and you just lead him to his death. Was very slapstickish.episode 5, in the dark room, David comes to rescue Max but is ambushed by Jefferson
Max: "David, kick the table!"
David" "Got it!"
David proceeds to kick the table, it's not very effective, gets riddled with bullets
What's the name of the song that plays during the car ride with the Nathan voicemail?
It's around 1:20 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMp4CgdBmEo
Can't make out the lyrics to Google it ):

Max will remember everything while she's in the photo moment, but after that it will revert back to original Max until she reaches the point in time from where she traveled to the photo (which is when the game also snaps back to her)
There's that, but then I'd want to specifically know what caused Jefferson to be arrested so early and why Max isn't dead. He knew what he was doing in order to hide everything.
Hm, if the reasoning that she lost all of her memories outside of that "return in time" moment for the final jump, maybe we're meant to assume that the fact Nathan was captured so early also caused Jefferson to be caught early? Makes sense.

(Seriously, for a trained soldier, he's not very good at this)
there it is
minor detail, when you tell him the truth about Chloe he goes on about how he was not a good soldier and not a good father

Edit: Looking at the "Sacrifice Chloe" ending again, I didn't notice that Max has that "snap back to reality" expression once things return to the present. Actually, I hadn't thought she lost all of her memories after the big jumps until that became a plot point in episode 5.
I had this fear since episode 1, sad to see it come true, really makes me dislike episode 5, especially when you think about it there was no point in Max even getting her powers, had she never got them there would be no tornado, would be the same as the Save AB ending, which brings the questions how did she even got her powers?I really hope the ending doesn't turn out to be Max going all the way back to the bathroom and letting Chloe die. Not because that would be a bad ending, just because it would be cliche.
The problem with your theory is that we know the reason why Arcadia Bay was destroyed, because of Max messing with time, so she could not have originally obtained her powers to save Arcadia Bay, would be a paradoxBut I want to argue that the #FuckArcadiaBay ending was good too.
Because I think from one interpretation, Arcadia Bay being destroyed may have been the *reason* that Max got her powers in the first place. We hear in game that it's a decaying town on its way out and there's a lot of mysticism and symbolism that implies that there's some presence that wants the town to be destroyed. I don't think it's necessarily true that everyone dies either (though probably a lot of them do). And while that ending is a bit shorter, I don't actually think that's a bad thing. It says what it needs to say. Max and Chloe are just exhausted and take a moment to look at the consequences and then take off somewhere else. I don't really think much lingering on the scene was necessary. It's a very open ending both in terms of the trajectory of those characters going forward as well as exactly how bad the destruction of the town was in terms of loss of life.
Squirrels not ratsAnd LOL at the giant rats when you're stuck in the loop.
it definitely feels like because of budget, some parts weren't fleshed out or were as satisfying. .
Destroying the town is the correct ending.
All you heartless bastards, letting the girl you love just die. Fight for her, goddammit.

I didn't pull the plug on Chloe in the alt-verse and I sure as hell wasn't going to let her die in the real-verse either.
Max & Chloe forever!
I wonder that too, I'll like to know if there was anything at least planned about any of these subjects:
*Samuel's weirdness
*The Prescott's "plans for Arcadia Bay"
*the origin or source of Max powers
*the native American hints and clues
*the spirit doe
*Stella being more significant, maybe even evil
*Warren accepting Max story so easily
oh man, i just finished episode 2. i couldn't save kate and feel terrible. now im suspended cause i told on nathan and then that security guy mentioned that i had weed (took the blame for chloe in her room).
really enjoying it but it definitely really makes you stop and think.
Or that he bugged and stalked her and already knew enough.I didn't think it was odd how fast Warren believed Max's story, it showed how much he trusts and loves her.
I guess he could have acted a little more shocked though, maybe with a "hoooly shit" or something.

Also, I watched the kiss in the sacrifice Chloe ending, and damn if that wasn't the best animated kiss in a game I've seen.
The third image literally says "gotta let go"
It's clear what the "true" choice of this game was.
That happens?

I didn't get the kiss either. I wonder if you lose it if you kiss Warren.

People kissed Warren and Chloe.

Yes, why is there even a nightmare section? What caused it?I liked the nightmare sequence(never got stuck) but its structure makes zero sense in the context of the story/lore and it's really overloaded with all of the allusions to grander consequences that the game completely ignores. Ie ,multiple Maxs.

Well I'm part of the 7% that didn't go near Warren in the end. I'm amazed that number is so low!
The nightmare scenes were fantastic. The journal entries, the texts, the backwards world. So good.
As for the story well they went with the safe ending. Kudos to dontnod for giving the player agency to make the choice though.
Fantastic game and so well done.
