Lightgun Games, Ghost Squad & Your GOAT

It looks like the old Touchmote app has been revived as Gunmote. But I'd appreciate someone comparing gameplay accuracy with and without it before I commit to trying to reconfigure all my emulators and shit with it (atm everything is as inaccurate as on a real Wii but at least it works right), lol.
It just won't be worth it if accuracy isn't really improved and I really can't understand what they may do so different and better than the default stuff (at least if you're using it with a standard sensor bar and no extra IR light sources, of course those could provide a benefit in accuracy/calibration) 🤷‍♂️
I also found this guy working on VR lightgun framework whatever that means, hopefully it will be a nice all in one solution that can be easily configured with all your games and emulators and not be a very demanding app like EmuVR without all the extra fluff that one runs on top of your games.

I still wish for RetroArch itself to implement VR display & controller support, I don't need any fancy stuff tbh, a screen in the void and accurate lightguns (though the ideal would be 3D rendered arcade cabs & interactive weapons, from pistols to SMGs, shotguns & sniper rifles as in the arcades).

I took my wife to a barcade in Portland and they had a pristine Time Crisis 2 cabinet and we played the whole way through the game, one of my favorite dates we've done.

Update on that VR lightgun stuff from that guy, man, it's looking like exactly what I want to see, functionality wise. Hope he delivers. Idk why he has that plain 3D room around the whole thing rather than a screen in the void, maybe he intends to also add rooms/tvs a la EmuVR or arcade cabs, Idk.

Edit: the dude's plan from a youtube reply. Good shit.
For now I am focusing on 3D scanning home light guns because those are readily available to me (Got a Gcon1, Gcon2, Wii Zapper in the game and waiting for my NES zapper and Dreamcast VMU to arrive to do a bit more). Eventually I'd like to scan cabs and have those be optional too so the user can choose between cabs or floating screen. 3D scanning cabinets is obviously more complicated due to the size and texturing requirements - I have a CAD background not modelling for games - but will be looking into that once everything else works the way I want. I have the equipment to do it at least. The scanning workflow is getting pretty fast, so tracking down and scanning things like the Ghost Squad arcade gun are in the plans for the future. In terms of Silent Scope, the arcade version doesn't emulate very well as far as I can find but there is a PS2 version that I am looking into. It seems possible with PCSX2 to create a mod which allow me to render the scope to a scope in VR but I haven't gotten past early research into this yet. Every time I mention this project to somebody they ask for Silent Scope though so it definitely feels like something I have to try and get in. In terms of the Sinden patch - that should make it so that you don't have to calibrate in game like I did here but either would work fine. I am using the Sinden patches for HOTD1/2 Remakes on Steam and they're mandatory there and work out of the box
