If its fine, good... at least, better than if wasnt.
If Xbox launches and we see things like that happening, I surely would say that it have POTENTIAL to be a serious problem.

Im not saying that its a FACT that PS4 will have a big failure rate, and I really hope it doesnt (I paid much more than the $400 US version). Im not trolling... just not playing blind either.

- He was downloading DCUO and it became unresponsive so he unplugged the PS4. He couldn't get a picture anymore after turning it back on.

- Tried troubleshooting it himself by holding the button down for 7 seconds to safe mode (he tried this various times though he messes up a lot while holding it down. He even counted to 10 once)

- People trolled him and he even tried using an external HDD (I'm not sure if PS4 even uses external).

- He called customer support ON STREAM and told them his ADDRESS, barcode, and full name. Just in case you missed it, he gave out his ADDRESS, full name, and barcode for the system.

- Sony's sending him a box to send it back now.

- Currently, he's just getting trolled by the comment section. Also by his friends.

- Now he's just troubleshooting it himself again, while making a few comments about support and the PS4 being bad.

Here's the summary.

People can be such assholes. And, let's be honest here. One failed PS4 doesn't mean there is some widespread problem. It may not be the only one that we hear messing up, but then I also don't expect everything to be flawless on the Xbox One side either. There may be some unlucky Xbox One owners also. So, hopefully people see this for what it is currently, which is just a guy that was incredibly lucky enough to win a free PS4, and, ironically, unlucky enough to have that PS4 break on him. That's like winning the lottery only to be told, "Wait, I know you started spending, but just cancel those orders for now, we need to hold on to the money for a few more weeks, or maybe even a month or so." But he will get his PS4 back, so he'll be fine. Whatever is wrong will be fixed, and he'll be gaming on his brand new, and free (jealous), PS4.

Poor guy, I actually feel sorry for him.

He was clearly nervous and his hands were shaking, he probably didn't even "got it" that he gave personal information to a lot of people. Getting a PS4 Day one and having such issues like that is sad, hoping for the best for everyone else no matter if they are in NA or Europe. I hope I can get mine on November 29th but I don't want NA to beta test it, I want NA to have great fun and post their impressions, pick-ups and so on. Despite all this, great times are coming indeed and I can only wish the very best to us all. Can't wait!

This isn't so much a hardware failure as it was user error, it would appear.

Lesson: Do NOT unplug your console while it's on and doing shit. If it won't shut off when you press the power button, it's doing something important and preventing you from shutting it down. Be patient.

Quite a few of us have one in the mail as we speak, and want to know how potentially fucked we are. That, and the sick and twisted entertainment and the sheer marvel that he's actually still streaming.

Yup, I feel bad for him. Not to mention people are telling him to do things like erase system32, and he's taking them seriously. I think he's just not a tech guy so he doesn't understand what people are saying, while people are calling him an idiot because of it.
