"Like a one man human centipede"

His PS4's HDMI is most likely fucked, but he refuses to learn how to remove the HDD and reformat it. It's his only option at this point.

EDIT: Finally. lol

I like how dude in the skype calls Sony shitty because they are sending a box to get it fixed.

Do they expect sony support to magically fix it over a phone? It's probably bricked and it won't be fixed unless he sends it in.

What did sony tech support tell him?
Told him everything they could possibly do over a phone. Nothing worked so they are sending a box.

Sometimes problems can't be fixed with a restart.

Hold down the power button for about 10-15 seconds, the system will shut off. I've had to do it a few times on PS3, several other people a few pages back confirmed it as well.

Never did it that way (holding the button for 10-15 seconds) on my PS3 when it froze. Always unplugged it. Weird that this thing would brick because of that.

Can't believe he hasn't tried the USB thumbdrive trick. I know he doesn't have one, but come on. Surely someone has one he can use, or he could go get one?

Would it even matter if the display isn't working?

I hope this is not on a RROD scale. Like that would be absolutely terrible. I thought this was isolated but it seems to have happened to a couple of people.

The level of schadenfreude I've derived from this stream is immense. The guy is so bad at listening to instructions and troubleshooting.

Yeah, hopefully it's not widespread, but this is the main reason I never buy new tech at launch. There are so frequently issues that come to light during those first days and weeks, or in this case, maybe hours.
