Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I wonder when we're going to get some new release date announcements. Cosmic Star Heroine/YIIK/Sekai Project aren't out yet so that's them out of the picture and iirc August was thrown around for Rainbow Moon, but things still seem fairly quiet. Volume is still undated, wonder what the holdup with that is.

(Btw LRG, you need to change Soldner's release date on your website, it's about to be a week away from when it's supposed to be launching).

I hope Oddworld Inhabitants can come to an agreement for at least Stranger's Wrath physical, but hopefully Munch's Oddysee too. I also hope the Atelier games get nabbed like has been hinted so often.

Other than that, I'm not really sure what I'd like to see next. Bastion'd be cool, enjoyable game with big file size, I'd love to see Guacamelee or Severed get a physical release too. And a Velocity double pack would be incredible. As would a Steamworld double pack.

If LRG really got Koei Tecmo, I hope they go for musou games, specifically Warriors Orochi 3 Ultimate Vita and Samurai Warriors 4 Empire Vita. If they want to go much deeper then I'm hoping for Samurari Warriors Chronicles 3 Vita and first release of Samurai Warriors 4 to complete my physical musou collection.

Hell, they could bring us that Nobunaga and Night of Azure since there's already localized versions on other platforms and a Vita version in Japan.

Localized versions on other platforms don't mean anything when it still requires work to bring said localization onto another version of the game. It takes quite a bit more work than just taking the PS4 localization and slapping it on Vita, for the Vita version to be in a working state. It's time to give up on Vita versions of those games unless Asia decides to make English versions at some point, Koei has swept them under the rug for the West.

LRG, what are the chances of working with a company like Bandai Namco? Do you think there is any chance we'd be able to get a game like God Eater Resurrection from you guys one day?

Finally grinded out level 50 in SMRPG, for the platinum. So, are there any plans for additional episodes or will it remain unfinished? I only have two pieces of the ultimate weapon and the hood hasn't been dealt with yet :(

Haha, I wouldn't be complaining with any of them, but I'd rather have Atelier.

There's just so many other options when it comes to playing a Warriors game that I wouldn't even bother with them even if they had physical versions on Vita, especially when I've heard the quality of some of those ports isn't all that great. Atelier on the other hand, the Vita versions are the only option when it comes to playing the Plus versions.

Would 3DS games be a possibility in the future?

I still dream about SMT IV.

It has a retail release in America in English. Importing an American 2DS or tracking down a hackable 3DS in your country shouldn't be super expensive I imagine.

Region locking is why I kind of wish they don't do Nintendo games at LRG.

Maybe? Someday? Can't rule it out... Although, Nintendo has a weird thing with region locking and all LRG releases have been region free so far.

I still dream about SMT.

It already has a NA and Japan release... I don't know what the odds of doing a special Euro exclusive release would be. Their time might be better suited for a game that has no physical release at all.

Yeah, to be fair the PS4 versions are definitely superior and they have exactly the same content as the Vita versions - at least the Atelier games have all the DLC content included in them which makes them something different to release in physical form.

None of the games I listed are bad ports. I don't know where you have heard that from. Now there's no other option of playing these games on PORTABLE device. That's exactly what the VITA is for.

These games are also just as big as Atelier games and why wouldn't anyone want perserve these when they go off the Vita Store?

So what if the other versions are better? Does that mean we shouldn't get Rorona Plus and Sophie? They are clearly surperior on other platforms and have same content as Vita version. Not to mention other platform have physical version so there's no need for Vita physical right?? You really just lost me there on this. Weak arguement.

Haha, I was thinking to myself as I posted that "I wonder if this is worth saying because I know he'll get riled up".

Simmer down! I said I wanted the games didn't I? They're massive file sizes on my memory card too. I was just providing a counter-point for why LRG might not want to go after them (they've said before a lot of what they're about is preserving games in a physical format, and those games will be preserved - through PS4).

If they made them, I'd buy them!

They really said if the game is already perserved on another platform (like PS4 or PS3) with physical format, there is no need to pursure them on Vita or other platform? So basically saying buy on that platform and that's not much different from Bandai Namco US.

Oh Well then... Why even make Vita versions of them since you know... they can just perserve through PS4 'cause everyone got it.

I think i just lost my enthusiasm here.

Good grief this is hard work! I said in my post that you quoted:

The "preserving digital games physically" is something they've said. The "other formats" part is what I'm using as a counter point. Do you even forumz? :p

In all honesty it's more possible than us working with Square Enix.

I have no idea whether to take this as good news or bad news. Good because you're saying there's a shot with Bandai? Bad because you're saying there's no shot with Square AND probably no shot with Bandai? Bleh.

Fired up my copy of Octodad and

I don't even mind it's just kinda weird.

I didn't read it wrong.. You said they have said so if it's perserved through one platform already then other isn't needed?

I dunno. You'll have to ask LRG not me. I'm sure it's not out of the question and they'll try and grab as many games as they can, I'm just suggesting it's why they might prioritize some stuff others. I could be way off on that!

edit: Because for starters I believe they'll still go after indiebox games which are preserved on PC, so you never know.

I'm hoping so too... and whilst I own all 3 and would buy all 3 again... even though I know it would mean more money and stuff like that, but I also don't want a single release 3-pack...

It would be a shame if all 3 games had to share a boxart, etc... and I'm sure there would be some people that would like to pick and choose a single title also...

If they release 3 pack seperately, it did be like $75 or more and excluding shipping. If it's all 3 in a pack, they could just charge us like 30 or 35.

There's a easy to way to get away with the boxart by putting Severed as front and on reserved for other 2 in each side.

IMO 3 in 1 would be ideal and it's not like they're releasing Guacamelee Super Extra Championshop Turbo Plus Edition

I'm aware of the financial hit to my wallet and I am okay with that... I guess my head space is that whilst I'm not against compilation releases, but I think 3 games are too few for that...

Compilation Packs are also fine when the games are from the same series, but with them being so varied, kinda feel as the games should stand on their own.

Just wait til they add in the PS4 release of Guacamelee as a stand alone also... more $$$$ (Will buy also)

Just got my copies of Xeodrifter and Lost Sea today, and I'm kind of pissed that all three were squeezed into a small bubble mailer. The Xeodrifter Vita copy pressed into the front of my copy of Lost Sea and now the cover is ruined/crushed and the disc is loose inside. Well, at least Lost Sea took the damage for PS4 Xeodrifter. It almost feels like extortion to pay for the $5 shipping box but I had no idea they'd try to squeeze all three in that small bubble mailer instead of trying a larger bubble mailer. Real mad, but lesson learned. ;/

Sorry to hear that your stuff got crushed. I paid the extra $5 and am pleased to say third time's the charm. They taped my box shut this time!

Do we have a list of which LRG games include/will include a manual? I had to skip out on Xeodrifter but that manual looks really nice!

Same here. They put 4 games in a small mailer and now my Xeodrifter PS4 cover got damaged.

Im glad I chose a box this time but man. That fulfilment center sure likes to do stupid shit.

I think the box should be free/added automatically for orders of 3+ games.

It's not, and yeah only the trophies are in Japanese.
What is your system language? What's happening there is that Octodad doesn't have trophies in your chosen language and for some reason the default is JP instead of english. Happened to FFX in the past, where the game only had trophies on English (US) but not English (UK).

Oh that might explain it, my system is English (UK)
