Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I've only bought one copy up until now and because of that I am about to spend $80 on Soldner-X2.

Sorry, but as much as I'd love to keep only buying 1 -- keeping a copy around for future trade serves absolutely no direct benefit to me -- the reality of the situation is that without a subscription to guarantee a copy, I need to try and get it some other (allowed) way.

I understand perfectly and I'm not criticizing your choice. Once this kind of situation is the norm, anything goes. Guess for LRG is even better this way, so no big hope of anything changing until someone steps in and hopefully establishes better practices and offers a bit of competition.

They are in effect for this run. You didn't have to pay us any extra, we managed to pay your taxes with shipping in our shipping charge.

Heads up, two known issues.

If you made multiple orders, tracking numbers got mixed up due to a software glitch at the fulfillment center, but is currently being worked on and all your orders are safe.

Some people who ordered the Deadline bundle and Soldner bundle are not getting Soldner soundtracks. This is being tracked and will be fixed as well. We will be sending you the soundtracks.

Also update for international. Your orders are on the way to our export center where they will receive an update shortly for tracking once they are shipped.

EDIT: Brazil, Peru, Bulgaria and Norway will be fulfilled this week by us personally.

How about those of us with domestic orders that only had one order, no shirt, no box? Not trying to be a pest, just curious what's going on.

I was expecting 8k copies for Shadow Complex. Close!

Also thanks for the detailed shipping update. Always appreciated

They did really good more than doubling the usual run, it makes sense.

On an unrelated note in the Soldner saga, it seems like most eBay sellers actually seem to be discarding the postcard and sticker or at least not selling them. So there's another wrinkle on that plan. :( :(

Where do you live? I'm not arsed about either of those items so could maybe get them to you if you're in the UK.

Probably people who bought one to keep and one to sell :/
I've never ordered anything from limitedrungames, can I not place my order until August 19 or is that the release date? Also do they ship to Canada?

It goes on sale on August 19th 10 AM EDT, and you should be there at that exact time. They sell out rather fast sometimes. That's also the release date so your order will be shipped a few days later.

EDIT: They ship everywhere!

US :(

I could cover your shipping and a couple of bucks extra, though? :)

I only ordered one copy (Vita). I mean, sure, I like the idea of having extras to be able to trade off (especially in case I ever regret not snagging Oddworld), but it kind of feels wrong to me. The extra copy I could have as barter could instead go to someone who really wants it.

Yeah, I was thinking about this some more since my last post.
Sure, it makes sense, but I don't think I can pull the trigger on buying two copies even if it's allowed since I have no interest in keeping two of them around. End of the day, it doesn't feel right.

I'd really like to know how many orders in % from Soldner were for 1 copies, just out of curiosity.

Phew... thank you for the reassurance. I've been watching a Soldner X2 eBay listing invade of the worst outcome that my order is lost and unfulfilled in a black hole.

Don't worry, the thread will come. On August 19th after 3pm when everyone has secured their copy from the first batch :P
This. Why do ya'll think Soldner X2 was a hot item? Cause everyone and their mother had to shout it out to the far reaches of the Internet. Then everyone came running.

I've literally never shipped anything abroad, but I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to figure out.

I'll message you when I get my copy (if I remember) and see if you're still interested. You only need to cover cost of shipping. You can have my Octodad sticker too lol, if I haven't thrown it away.

LRG, where is that SNK partnership? I need Metal Slug, The Last Blade 2 and Garou on my shelf!

I was just thinking this! I bought Last Blade 2 last night, and although it's kicking my ass, it's a beautiful game.

LRG seem in with Japanese companies lately, and Snk seem all about fan pleasing, so why not! Plus there's PS4 and Vita versions so they can get that dedicated vita audience and expanded PS4 userbase all in one!

... But atelier first please.

Heh. Made the same choices in the same situation for the same games. I get kinda angry thinking if I didn't lose a single second to stop to think and take out the second copy from the check-out I could have made it in time.

Now I dont really know what to do. Dont really want to award them with my money the way they're handling this and sure as fucking hell dont want to give money to some gaffer selling his copy on eBay while pushing LRG to keep runs low in here to profit a couple dollars more.

That's some conspiracy theory nonsense lol

I may be taking this to the extreme for the sake of comical imagery, but Im dead serious about this kind of reasoning being the real motivation behind so many users playing yesman. Or maybe you really think many of the posters In here would have bought all the games released if they had normal run numbers?

No, but the games being limited is the whole business model and the only reason this can work. We've been over this plenty of times. Feel free to believe it or not.

No one is advocating artificially low runs and hoping for people to miss out. We're all trying to find the perfect balance between "everyone can get a copy" and "LRG doesn't go out of business because of unsold stock". Plenty of games in the past already hit that balance, sadly Soldner didn't.

Agreed.

To me, buy systematically an extra copy is really REALLY close to scalping. That would be holding on several copies because you know you can cash on it in the future.

I actually have nothing against "scalpers", I just prefer it when things are clear ^^

Summer is almost over, I wonder if it's been delayed.

I was thinking the same thing, but I'm not that familiar with LRG. Do they often announce games 2 weeks in advance?

Technically we have over another month of summer, they could announce the game September 1st and release it mid September, I guess.

Just as clarification, the digital release is planned for summer, the physical LRG release will come later as they want the version on the cart/disc to have bugfixes that come after release.

Well a release date for the game itself isn't up to LRG. They're only doing the physical version of it, which we've been told is coming after it's digital release.

So since Shadow Complex isn't the game with the 15k run, then what could be?

A Nintendo title would be my only guess, even then there's only so many options that even could push that many. I don't believe for a second that Fatal Frame could push even close to that many this long after it's release.

Are we talking 15k on one platform or possibly combined? I could see Cosmic Star Heroine reach good numbers on both PS4 and Vita. At least 5k each. It's the game people are talking about becoming their first LRG purchase from what I have seen, or at least was before Shadow Complex.

That is seriously awesome, thanks a ton :)
