Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

Unfortunately, since PS3 games actually run from the disc there is a lot more work involved with doing disc releases. It's been hard to get anyone on board for PS3 releases.

Does that mean the games we buy from you don't "actually run from the disc"? Do they install digital versions onto the hard drive and then the disc isn't needed anymore?

All PS4 games, not just from LRG, installs the entire game on the hard drive. The disc is still needed to start the game though so you won't just buy games and sell them back on the next day.

Yup, this. One of the reasons why I find PS4 games less collectible. PS3 games ran from disc. Although there were some PSN games that were also installed. However an installer would need to be written, so there's definitely extra work involved.

Another one. (character in the pic is Oktigi from Stranger's Wrath)

I Guess betting on games that had a disc release in japan only lile many Capcom releases dont make this easier, right? I would have guessed publishers would be even more willing for literally zero risk releases that had their run already. Seems like Im wrong.

It's all about having to go through Sony cert again. Those releases have gone through cert in Japan or other regions but not with SIEA and there are too many new issues that could crop up and indenture them to work on something that may only make them $50k, which is small potatoes to them.

The image states "pre patched". Why is it not post-patched?

That's how it should be written.
Pre-patched means it's been patched already.
For another example "pre-formatted" means something has been formatted already.

Now if it said "pre patch", that could mean it is the version before the patch was applied.

It definitely is weird wording, but you wouldn't see many people advertising that a release was without patch(es) that the game would otherwise need! That would be crazy stupid.

I feel like I actually prefered the good old cover :3

But it's still great ! I'll be content with the "blue" cover. The more I look at it the more I like it :D
(however the other one really disturbs me somehow)

fault milestone one is definitely not coming in the Fall. We're still hard at work on the port over at Mighty Rabbit. The solution we're building to easily bring Ren'Py games into Unity is taking a bit longer than we'd hoped. Optimistically I'd say Spring for that, but realistically, May/June.

Ideally, it would be nice if Fault also had both parts of 2 in it, as well, and be released as a set. Who knows when part 2 of 2 will be out, though. And then there's Fault - Silence the Pendant... Announced a long time ago, and who knows with that one, either. It can still all be done in multiple releases, if so.

So the mystery of the 4 Vita games and 2 PS4 games is finally unraveling.

Vita: Oddworld; Skullgirls; Volume; ???
PS4: Skullgirls; ???

Any final guesses on the last one? :P

Skullgirls, PS4/Vita.

Pre-orders start on 31st October.

Pre-orders? Wat?

Also ow, my wallet for November...

Ha, beat me to it.

We're doing pre-orders with the hopes of locking in enough sales to cover the Japanese voice licensing costs.

A lot of people really want the Japanese voices, and we'll patch them into the PS4, PS Vita and Steam release if we sell more than 10,000 copies in the pre-order period.

So it's a stretch goal, of sorts.

That's... an extremely interesting way of handling things. Wonder how it'll turn out!

Super disappointed in no PS3 for Strangers Wrath. At this point I'd take PC Physical release, anything but that vita :/

People want Japanese voice acting in a western game? Anime has gone too far.

Sign me up for a copy either way. I would love the option to ship it together with something else but I guess that's hard for LRG to pull off.

I'm actually glad it's not a "one day only" affair on 10/31 exactly, because I am flat broke and won't be able to get an order in until a few days after that.

I knew this one was coming and had fair warning that an NA release would happen, months before the JPN release shipped out, so I can't be mad about double dipping either.

Gonna be pretty noteworthy to see how this one plays out. It may change the LRG game up. It's following Silver Case on PC, but this a presumably cheaper item, on both a more mainstream platform and a hardcore collector platform that LRG patrons are all about, has an English import release already, and is a relatively respected indie darling with a strong fanbase + an FG community slant + has seen plenty of long lived forum threads for years now. So that's a lot going for it and some notable differences.

Oh, cool! Best of luck! My friends love this game so I'm thinking I'll buy 2 copies (1x PS4 & 1x Vita) so I can practice and play it with them.
