Limited Run Games - Putting digital games into your hands

I wonder if I'll be able to order Skullgirls along with Volume.

Was thinking that, it would make it easier for us to buy everything at once, but a nightmare for the LRG team to keep some orders "open" until Skullgirls is manufactured and ready to be shipped...

We won't be able to replicate the artbook, since that was an Arc System Works thing.

But we're doing everything we can to make sure it's really nice, short of that.

It'll also have an exclusive new box art.

We'll have more on everything included when the pre-order page goes live next week.

Ravi be praised

Super disappointed in no PS3 for Strangers Wrath. At this point I'd take PC Physical release, anything but that vita :/
I'd like a ps3 version as well, in fact there's a lot of ps3 digital games I'd like physical releases for. Too bad it won't happen.

Lots of great new releases coming up. I already own the Japanese version of Skullgirls but if the price is right, I will double dip. Kudos for making this an open pre-order, really hope it does well.

This will kind of prove out whether preorders are feasible for games with big fanbases. We decided to try preorders on this since they had the community goal of unlocking Japanese VO. We want that to be on the cart/disc if the goal is hit so preorders were the only feasible way to do this.

I need to be a little cynic and believe that it'd have a better chance of hitting 10k copies sold if it was a limited run divided by 5k copies for each platform, like One Way Heroics, but that's just me. Open pre-orders have never pulled those numbers anywhere, just look at The Silver Case or anything by Gaijinworks.

Agreed

If it's any consolation, this announcement has our biggest social media impact... ever?

So I think once we reveal more of it we've got a good shot of hitting it.

Also, the JP voices are expensive enough that we need to guarantee that we'll hit this number of sales, which we can't do with a preset amount.

Well, every single LRG run so far has sold out in a matter of days, which is why 10k in a preset amount would be a wiser choice, since that even if it took a few days and the order limit was removed, it'd still sell out guaranteed. Limited runs push people that'd otherwise wait to order ASAP not to miss a copy.

I don't mean to be pushy or disrespectful, you must've crunched some numbers with the LRG team and thought this was the better approach, I just hope it works as well as you guys have planned.

Is the 10k goal total (PS4+Vita)? I think this should work out, unless it's a really expensive edition.

In for Skullgirls PS4 !
Of course there's already an Asian release but now that it's here I won't refuse it. It also happens that I haven't imported it yet. And it comes pre-patched apparently :D

I may double dip for the Vita but I've read the portable version could be laggy at times. Has it been fixed ?

I guess Skullgirls will be a better test for preorders than Silver Case, although two factors may limit the sales :
- some may already own the Asian release
- the price. If it's 50$ it will definitely hold it down. Especially since the Asian version is sometimes discounted to 35-40$ on Play-Asia

LRG is stealing my check this month.

Gonna grab Both Shantae's, Strangers Wrath, Volume, and both versions of Skullgirls because I've already bought that game on everything it's been on so far, might as well just keep going.

I just left my job (for many reasons) thankfully I'll be getting a very nice annual leave sum to fund these amazing releases before I find a new one! haha

I just got my Thomas Was Alone and OWH as well, is TWA meant to have an almost entirely black back case? I think it looks sweet

From a video the developers released, the worst it gets is during a super animation. They only showed one example but they said it was the worst drop in the game and it wasn't all that bad.

Oddworld: Strangers Wrath is one of my favorite games of all time, so all in for that. I do with it was a PC or console version though, I'll admit.

Still, the Vita version is a good version!

On the same note I wish there was a PS4 version of Volume. Any reason why not?

Strangers Wrath is actually a much better port on vita as New ‘n’ Tasty. The latter suffers heavily from being a Unity engine game on the vita.

RE: Skullgirls

Of course will support both the choice and the people who gave us ps3 stick drivers. Also, love my fighting games. May even pick both versions.

Seems like voicing my requests wasnt so worthless as some wannabe PR made it out to be, after all.

Pre-orders will be cool for a lot of stuff, but I'm glad they made the distinction of games with bigger fanbases, though. 'cause that means the live order model is still on the table for niche releases that just don't have the same crossover reach that a Shovel Knight or Hotline Miami do. It's probably the only hope I'd have of getting physical copies of more offbeat stuff like Rocket Birds or Dragon Fin Soup, the way we got stuff like Futuridium and One Way Heroics.

You don't even like Oddworld? :O

I gave my Vita to my little brother, maybe I'll see if I can wrestle it away from him :P

We'll pull you back eventually! ;)
Looking forward to it! I'm saving my wallet from crying haha...you are having no problem missing my sales in the meantime though I see :P.

Keep up the solid work...there's definitely quite the array of genres and titles and that's very nice to see. I'm sure something will catch my eye soon enough

After only getting Rainbow Moon, OWH, and The Silver Case I do not mind a break until all of the VNs get released. Speaking of which as a backer to all 3 titles, I wonder if there will be any special offers for it... Last I heard was early access to it. Anyways, my Q4 and Q1 is packed with games as it is, so it's a sigh of relief... for now!

The mentioned World End Economica KS backer will get early access to ordering.

I sort of figured game covers for these types releases would be more stylized, sort of like Criterion DVD/Blu ray releases. These are not really going out to the general public so I'm not sure it would put off many that would look to buy these release.

Moreover, I wonder if it has been proven that generic sells better being that in more than few instances publishers have had reverse covers which are more daring if not features much better art work but it was as if they were scared to have them for the main cover.

But then again a cover with art work out of the scope of whats in the game might prove to be too much work for some of these studios, so I suppose I understand why they might go with "generic" over "stylized" which probably takes weeks to draw.

What are the odds of all 3 Shantae soundtracks still being available when the games go live?

750 each are quite a lot but at the same time people seem to go crazy for pretty much anything that LRG is selling, so it's really hard to tell. If you want them badly, it's probably worth ordering them first.

Speaking of stylized covers, nothing beats The Evil Within's reversible cover.

Saw some gameplay of Skillgirls. Not my kind of game, but it's been so long since I've played a game in it's genre that I might grab it to see if my opinion changes.
And well, hoping that it'll sell well and we get Indivisible for the Vita in the future ^^

Shantae: Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut + Shantae and the Pirate's Curse (PS4) Countdowns:
