Not really.

This is not COD that sells 10M on Xbox, 15M on PlayStation, and over 5M on PC.

At the time of Remake and Rebirth's release, there just wasn't an audience for the game beyond PlayStation that would make it worth it to turn down the exclusivity deal and marketing support they had received from Sony. On top of that, Final Fantasy XV was so fucking bad that it damaged the public perception of the series in the West even to this day.

We'll see how Remake does on Switch 2 though.

And they ended up repeating the same mistake with the Final Fantasy franchise exclusivity deal

Always with this "sony too", only to later have the false equivalence disproved.

I first knew of him when he worked at Crystal Dynamics. I was a fan of his TR work. Here is a post of mine from four years ago.

Of course, I was obviously wrong about it being a shitshow. lol
What's the magic you talk about there from the CD days? TR2013 was criticized for being too heavily influenced by Naughty Dog's style in Uncharted and many disliked Rise of the Tomb Raider.

And? Every game has detractors. The game was well received and sold well. Not much of a mystery why Microsoft was keen on hiring Gallagher. Just didn't work out.
