Dear all,

Began with a dream of two brothers.
You supported.
We became a team, then grew into a company and tried many hands to make light work.

Along the way in all efforts to making a great game, many great people have come and gone.
People with respectable but different purposes and pursuits.

In sharing these differences and thoughts, we were sometimes touched and moved and sometimes in conflict.
We are responsible for not being able to embrace the differences.

And of course, sincere apologies to you all.

So now, we're back to a smaller, bonded team with a single, common purpose - just to make a great game.

And all our core founding and starting members still here with the duty and conscience to fulfill what we set out to do.

We know this doesn't and shouldn't justify for all the delays and lack of news but we're still here, have been and always will be.

Equipped with one tide turning fact - having gone the long way around, we are stronger. Much stronger.

We have genuinely started discussions regarding publishing and once this clears out, hopefully we'll be able to answer what everyone wants to know.

Here, we've just strung together a series of gameplay clips representative of what we have been working on in the UE5 engine.

Seems like they ramped up massively in graphics. Change of engine I guess since it's been 84 years.gif

I don't get it, they made a bigger team and there was differences? I bet they hired blue and purple hairs. And now they've got rid of the troublemakers and can actually finish the game?

Of course they switched engines, not to say it was the sole reason for the delays or anything, but it almost never works for the better.
 
Art-direction (general aesthetic) and graphics look beautiful but framerate-wise looks very rough - which is kind of to be expected since this is probably in beta ?

Anyway, suppose we'll have to wait and see.
 
Wow,an interesting looking video game....I like the overworld.....no idea how it plays,but that seems very common these days doesn't it.....it's always the last thing to be revealed and it's ususally because the gameplay is lacking and the devs have gone for style over substance,I guess we'll see.
 
This has been my most anticipated game for the PS5 since it was shown. Would really wish Sony just gets behind this team the same way they got behind hello games.
 
Still looks great but the dev update basically confirms it's going through dev hell.
If it somehow doesn't pan out I hope at least whoever was in charge of the art direction gets a nice offer from a bigger studio. Visually this is still one of the coolest upcoming games.

Sony was never the publisher of the game. They plan to release this on Xbox and Switch and thus they need to find a publisher that will publish across devices, but most big publishers won't want to publish a game like this and most small publishers are probably reeling from post covid costs...
 
This is the absolute most unusual game I have ever seen and I am 1000% sold on it. They need to do whatever possible to bring this game to reality. The graphics and different play systems really are top notch and this is a must have for me. Please finish this game!

Quite likely the core people with the actual vision for the game were so bogged down in managing other people that they didn't have time or space to be creative and do the most important parts of development any more. This happens to all creative people trying to expand - there's a threshold where you can no longer lead by example and have to delegate the most important decisions, but that doesnt work well with projects with such a strong singular vision. (the alternative is to hire someone to run the company and they get to tell you what to do and make more than you do, which is a risk in itself)

If they're being forced to delegate the most creative tasks, that person doesnt need to be a purple haired millennial to end up in a disagreement with the founders. It's fucking hard to find someone to be your lead creative and also have them make the same kinds of decisions you'd make.
based on what I've seen in my own industry, once you go over 10-15, a founders role becomes entirely based around running a company with zero space to be creative or make anything anymore.

Yeah, the move to UE5 seems to have paid off, you can see the smoother and more lifelike lighting even though the original trailer looked good on its own. (At first you wouldn't think of this as a lighting showcase, but the subtle spread of coverage just feels natural. )

Timing-wise, no; developers hope that an engine switch will iron out all the problems they're encountering, but the new problems the switch introduces tend to add up. End result-wise, though, it's largely positive as far as I can remember (...provided the development studio/project survives the downtime/changeover).

This improved engine could have been for Little Devil Inside 2 on a different timeline if they had been able to get the first done done back then, but who knows what was actually ready to go when they first revealed the game.

This has nintendo switch written all over it. Not gonna lie, when I saw this trailer this morning and knowing the nintendo direct was today.... I thought for a second...
 
Loos really good I hope it releases this year. If the team is small how the hell are they going to launch and all platforms. Kinda crazy!

That's literally what misconstruing information looks like. The devs themselves, and what that whack publication reported, said that they are starting talks with publishing. Not that they are looking for a new publisher.
