Yah yah. It's your schtick on GAF. We get it.
Oh, don't get snippy.

I've been more than restrained since I came back from my little vacation and I decide to get needlessly silly in one thread and you act all mean.

Fine, but now you're no longer in my will.

I hate quote wars. Someone posts a topic about government or science or whatever and person A disagrees. Person B begs for Person A to explain but it's really a trap. They want A to give a reason so they can post the twelve quotes they have loaded and ready. If person A doesn't have an equal volley of quotes loaded and ready they lose. Doesn't matter who is right or wrong it's just a pissing match about who has the best quotes.

Watch yourself, pal. Just about everyone in this thread would go to the mat for Thunder Monkey in a heartbeat. And by "just about everyone" I mean "me", and by "go to the mat" I mean "defend his character."

And by defend character you mean offer belly rubs and table scraps.

*wags tail*

-Random screenshots without saying what the game is

-Using abbreviations that aren't common, and just assuming that everyone knows what it means

-There/They're/Their....if English isn't your native language, fine. It's just that I've seen my friends' facebook pages. I can't believe how many people apparently didn't pass the 4th grade.

When people use acronyms for almost any title out there. Sometimes they are easy to figure out, but many times you spend more time figuring out the acronym than it would take to type the actual title. And it doesnt help when some big things have identical acronyms, like Gears of War and God of War.

-People who make the exact same post twice in a thread, albeit slightly reworded, because no one paid attention to them the first time.

-Nerds who like movies like Ip Man and Gattaca, but hate Crash, when the former use the exact same devices they claimed they hated in Crash, but have more nerd-oriented settings.

fanboys and ignorance: and they often go hand in hand

get rid of both of those and gaf would literally be an amazing place to discuss things

Apostrophe abuse.
“addicting”
“could care less”
Images without explanations.
Quoting images.
Those stupid angry stick-man pics get really stale as well.
Spoilers.

Hm, I would say that a little thing that slightly upset me on forums is when certain members get special, "protected", status and keep on returning to the forums when banned.

Retards hiding behind admin status and group think. Nothing is more revolting than watching a blatantly wrong assertion be touted as fact due to the sheer numbers of the retards.

it's because you have to have a non-free email to get an account here, which leads to people to believe that they're Extremely Important for being able to post here.

it's a form of hazing which, while probably necessary at a forum this size, creates some kind of illogical hierarchy based on Tags and established status rather than content or quality of posts.

Since when do you have to have a non-free email to get an account on this site? Oh god, I'm on GAF illegally!

Holy shit guys. Its Shanadeus!

The only thing that really annoys me on forums are when the forum admin decides to create a sub-forum for everything. This is why I don't post on many forums, because unless their member base is absolutely MASSIVE, I see no need to have an individual forum for every single topic, yet this is how the average forum is allowed to function. Meh.

i kind of hate people that type shit like "methinks" or "you, sir, are correct!" like they're in a medieval pantomime, but my ultra pet hate on GAF is when people post incredibly specific rhetorical questions in thread titles that they clearly already agree with, like "is it time for square enix to make a game about cats?" followed by 3000 words about how cats have suffered long enough in the final fantasy universe and no-one really likes big yellow chickens and anyway if capcom can do it why can't square...or whatever

i have no idea why this annoys me, but there you go!

White Knights.

Socially inept people complaining about their ineptitude and doing nothing about it.

80% of the girl age thread advices given by people that obviously never been on a particular situation and just spouts stuff seen in movies or heard by the friend of a friend of a friend that once have banged someone.

The worst thing for me is the cunts that feel the need to tell you that something you posted is an opinion, or "don't state your opinion as fact", as if you have to put IMO before or after everything you ever write so fuckwit morons don't get confused.

"That's the best album of the decade"
"No it's not, that's just your opinion"

Die.

Got to agree with the White Knights. Nothing sadder than some random 'protecting the e-honour' of another random. It does make fantastic troll bait though...

/thread and quoting someone with no response. May as well have a 'like' button.

/thread is the worst thing :(

I don't remember if it was neogaf but I remember someone doing it and he didn't even read the OP correctly, posted the wrong crap with a /thread, later he comes back and corrected it and left the /thread there :lol

The thread isn't going to close! Stop /threading!

Girl-Age is pathetic in general. If you have to ask for relationship advice from GAF, you will never have a lasting relationship.

Ha, yes.

"That's just liek ur opinyun mang"

Oh, really, thanks for explaining to me how subjectivity works. Some people get confused and need disclaimers posted before every opinion. (Unless they share it.)

people that do this:

>blah blah implying like this is 4chan
"1st post nails it"
people who post to just agree with someone, even quoting walls of text just to add "this" or a full stop.
rage faces

I hate all these stupid assholes that keep PM'ing me trying to get me to join the Pen 15 Club or whatever it's called.

I'm already on the secret GAF Skateboarding team, you assholes.

Puns.. GAF has made me hate puns.

a gaf gold membership gives you the option to turn them off, it's pretty awesome

edit: my favourite thing to hate is when people write something off using the word "entitled". raaaaaage

Every NPD thread will have someone comparing World Wide data... but in Mediacrate or PAL thread you'd get banned for even bringing it up.

My favorite use of this one was in a restaurant thread were somebody was passionately claiming customers expecting decent service were "entitled." As a negative.

People that say "GAF told me X but now Y" as if everybody was saying same thing.

In a perfect world yeah but in the more heated topics some people really need the reminder.

It's a bitch!

but yea i admit it, weaksauce indeed :/

Not as much of a problem here since I have no idea what nationality most posters are, but on other forums I have seen a real problem with non-Americans going out of their way to post news articles that paint America in a bad light. News about religion in America, anything that paints Republicans in a bad light, etc. I am not even talking about an every now and then occurrence, this happens on a daily basis. They usually tend to be Australian and Canadian (not saying everyone from those countries is like that).

I also really dislike people who constantly use abbreviations in forum posts. It took me forever to figure out what the hell people meant by "ofc".
