LMAO @ Madden Challenge finals on G4...

Personally, both games suck!!!

ESPN - Too easy to run
Madden -Too easy to pass

I hope with the next generation the AI gets as much of an upgrade as the graphics.
 
I dont know if yall are aware of this...but the HNIC of the development team for madden is actually FMT's father....and John Madden is actually his real grandfather.

uh no its not easy to stop. all i have to do in espn EVEN WITH TIM FUCKING RATTAY is the following: hot block to the side the CB is coming from, run to YOUR side (as the DE) and either cut inside if you take the outside angle, or take it outside if you stuff the inside. with tim rattay.

Your wrong. Its as simple as that. I have stopped people who try to scramble every play along with the guys who bust it out every so often. The people who try to abuse it get blown out or quit when it doesnt work.

You used the Eagles,unless you used a power team that matched them numbers wise you didn't have a chance in hell against a good player.

That is a valid complaint. The players turn retarded depending on the rating. Madden is better in that aspect. It doenst make online play any eaiser though because everyone else picks the best teams. Also the eagles playbook is buggy, actually almost all the playbooks are buggy (plays that dont work the way they are supposed to). I have also noticed that some defensive playbooks seem to make your players better somehow.

i hate to get into another flamewar thread about this, but the bottom line is that espn/nfl2kx feels like a completely random game.

Thats funny because I feel the same way about madden. I guess it just depends on what your familiar with. If i know someone is calling a certian play in espn i know how to stop it with the eagles.

I can't believe there are people on this planet who believe ESPN 2K5 is more of a sim than Madden. Do these people even understand the sport? :lol
 
The difference is that Madden can at least be played without cheese by people with the right attitude. ESPN meanwhile is broken from the get-go.

I don't know, something about being able to out-run people with Peyton Manning online (when trying to escape a sack, not cheesing it up with naked bootlegs), or watching the CPU run no-huddle in the first quarter of a scoreless game after an incomplete pass in single player. :lol

umm, do people still play vf3?

besides, its not like its an exploit that is game breaking(or even cheap for that matter), rising attacks rolls and tech rolls are there for a reason.
 
There are plenty of bugs and exploits just as bad in madden. Im not gonna argue with some dude named EAJAPAN about which is the better game.
 
Yea I remember the only time I attempted to fool with ESPN offline the Bills started running no huddle on me in the 1st quarter :lol

I will say this very briefly then go back to lurking, get use to cheese in most national tournies unless the organizers have banned the glitches and exploits. After playing in soul calibur 2 tournies I've learned and saw that high level players use anything and everything to win this mean glitches. If you really want to stop this go to whomever runs the tourney and complain to them otherwise just abuse the system. Your final solution is to simply not play these types of players if it causes you to get hypertension.

Its pretty ignorant that you say both games suck when both games got great reviews every where you look. I guess that just says a lil sumthin about your gaming knowledge

Don't you find it pretty pathetic that you have to turn an option on in the game that makes all the teams equal so that the lower rated teams can even have a chance to be in the game? :lol
 
I'm sorry I don't play ESPN, could somebody explain what EQ is? Is it what I think it is? Does it nerf all the super teams down to the level of the bottom feeders? :lol
 
Yup,it basically makes every team play the exact fucking same.

But I mean you have no choice,otherwise teams like the Eagles/Pats simply can't be beat with a lesser rated team.
 
What bullshit. Football gaming has been reduced to a game that plays more like Blitz than anything.
I'm officially jumping off the sinking ship that was 'football gaming'....

This is a VC dev's explanation of it:

If you believe that on any given Sunday anything can happen then playing with EQ on is more "sim" than with it off. Personally, I feel that video sports games generally make the good teams / players too good and the poor teams / players not good enough so to me EQ makes the game more realistic because it means there is hope for an upset. People have complained all over these boards that so-in-so is too fast, or this running back is too tough. Turning EQ brings the super heros back to earth and makes those guys who look like they could never land a real NFL job play a little more like a real NFL player.

Performance EQ certainly isn't cheese no matter how you slice it. I think you may have read too much in my words "at least have a chance of winning". You added words like "much better" and "more than just a fighting" when I didn't say that. If you simulated 100 games between the Patriots and the Cardinals with EQ off the odds are pretty good that the Patriots would win all 100. That is not realistic. With EQ on maybe the Cardinals win 10 of them. That is realistic...unless you're a Patriots fan and believe they never have a bad game .

Don't even get me started on ESPN's outta-wack team ratings. They take my Jets and bump their offense up to 89 even though we wouldn't score in a bar full of hookers, and had the equivalent of a blind, brainless chimp calling our plays. Yet the one aspect that we improved tremendously, defense, VC left at a 78 rating ALL FUCKING YEAR LONG, even since the default rosters. 78??? A GODDAMN 78????
