I was just watching Sessions @ AOL and they had New Found Glory talking about how they've evolved as a band. How they've really grown up over the past 6 years. And then...the guitarist says that the new record is a huge step in a different direction for them; because unlike other bands in their genre, they're changing their sound! Is this guy fucking serious? NFG still sounds like the same shitty band they were 6 years ago, with the same [utterly] shitty vocalist.

They've done a lot, and I mean a LOT of great covers of songs from all genres, and they ALL sound like a rock/punk version of the exact same song they covered. You should try out "Back That Ass Up." And they have come along well over the past six years. If all you've heard are their singles, then go to cdnow.com or something and preview all their music. Don't write them off as shitty just because they could be labeled as a lame ass teeny bopper angsty band...because they're quite good. It's just all a matter of taste, I guess.

I actually had the second (?) CD a long time ago and I remember it being so bad. It was the CD with a joystick on it. So, so bad. They need a new singer, badly.

Hehehe...like I said, taste. The singer does sound like a pussy, but could you imagine another singer to go with the music? Kind of like Claudio from Coheed and Cambria...sounds like a pussy, but I couldn't imagine any other vocalist in the band other than him.

Not exactly. I just don't find that having the ability to take any song and make it sound like any generic pseudo-punk song is much of a talent.

Nor do I consider the "look at how hardcore I am because I wear wristbands and have frosted hair" style as being even remotely connected to "punk." But that's just me.

this band sucks fucking BALLS dude. i had to listen to their shitty shit when i worked @ a record store cause i worked with a lot of chicks and sissy-la-las who loved them. on top of that, my gfs sister likes them and listens to them. didn't they cover the theme song from karate kid? sweet jesus christ that was terirble

i will be honest: they are one of the worst bands around. i wont say THE worst, but they are probably in a tie for 3rd with a lot of bands like taking back sunday and all that other pussy punk-pop BS.
