Speaking of the paralympics, I'd recommend going to anyone who gets the chance. Some of the events are cool and it's still a great vibe. Wheelchair rugby is a must.

Any dim wit can mash out such shit on social media. Unfortunately it encourages other like minded knobs to do the same.

Meb Keflezighi takes 4th. Great run from the 37 year old representing the US.

Amazing run. Came back from 16th early on. Great pacing.

And with Uganda victory in marathon a total of 85 different countries got at least a medal, one short of Beijing record, as well 54 got at least a gold medal, exactly the same as Beijing in 2008 (also a record).

"Uganda sent only 2 athletes in this Olympics and now they‘re getting one Gold #efficiency"

I wonder if the closing ceremony will feature a mini-performance for the Rio games. I remember Beijing had something for London (giant Leona Lewis singing and Beckham kicking balls out of a double decker bus) and I think the Winter Olympics do the same thing.

Yes they will, they always have a slot at the closing ceremony for the next hosts, and it was mentioned in an article that I read (here) where some of the supposed artists for the ceremony were mentioned, including
George Michael, Spice Girls, Annie Lennox, Tinie Tempah, Jessie J, Madness, Adele, Pet Shop Boys, David Bowie, Elton John, Take That, Rolling Stones and Kate Bush
. Some of it sounds as bizarre
(A giant inflatable octopus and nuns on rollerskates!)
and British as the opening ceremony, so expect lots of 'WTF?' on here.

Hopefully India will get a Gold in Wrestling today, and then that number will rise again.
