Now that I finished University for this year i wanted got chill out in London before i go back to Birmingham for the summer holiday. Today, i have actually thought about and noticed between by sub-culture fandoms and University studying, i haven't been socially active. I haven't made lots of friends, no girls and no drinking at pubs/bars in Friday nights.

Now that I have actually some time to relax and go around London, I thought its THE time for me to go a bit wild.

So any very sociable places and events in London that you guys can recommend a fellow GAFfer?

Prefer my age group and not so late clubs (after midnight). Also, does any one know good friendly Gothic bars for someone who is kind a out there with that style.

Cheers.

For Gothic bars, you might want to try the Intrepid Fox on Tottenham Court Road, it's quite good in there from what I remember. Could also try World's End in Camden on a Friday night.

I know for a fact there will be a lot of cool people at The Underworld (Camden) next Friday night for the Hollywood Tramp gig, check it out.

Waxy's is quite good, it's in China Town, Picadilly but it can get crazy busy in there. Another friendly place is the Horse and Groom off of Oxford St, it's really busy when there is a DS Meet, a lot of fun, not really geeky as you'd think.

Would be easier if you said your age group.

You're going to go on your own?
don't have many friends to go out every night, hence the thread. Want to meet new people and maybe befriend with them.

Crap, i forgot to write my age :lol

Well i am 22, so in the 20s would be much more exciting as most of my mates are over 30s. i went to Camden once for a gig, nah, wouldn't say they are easily sociable, but again, i just went there once.

I go out a lot to China Town and yeah its great fun there. Might check those places out.

To expand on what I wrote. I go a lot of pubs and bars (especially around where I live, Nottinghill Gate). The problem is that when i go inside there, it seems that everyone knows everyone and uts hard )at least for me to get into a huge group while them having a discussion and what not.

Unless you study at Imperial, UCL, or LSE (and perhaps KCL) then I'm afraid to tell you, but you just wasted thousands of pounds by going to a London uni and not reaping any of the benefits.

Anyway, it may not be too late, so ask some friends on your course what their plans are, ask to tag along, etc.

Try the DS Meet, it's full of 20-30 year olds. Might want to bring a friend if you're a bit shy. Beer and DS Mutliplay is a great combination.

Nobody slags off Birmingham and gets away with it. Or is it the other way round ?
Bellieve me, i was dissapointed when i first started living in Birmingham (I am from Norway). This is the city of Led Zeplin, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Napalm Death, Judas Priest. And all you are going to see now days in Bullring is Emo people. Its bloody disgrace.

LSBU student. Yea, i know, I am sad, hopefully next year I am going to either Kingston University or Greenwich which are much better University.

As I said my class mates are way older than me and I would love, for once, to find people in their 20s.

Where is the place for the DS meet? I would love to play my DS but my Lite just broke so i don'tthink i can play some DS games.

Also, I am not shy, I am quite sociable person and can strike a conversation. Its just hard to try get into it sometimes when people are all acquainted with each other.

OK, i guess I am bit shy :lol
