I'm looking for an article about the cost of HDD in Xbox and how it may have/may not have effected the long-term cost controlling measures by Microsoft on the original Xbox. I read a few articles before about it but can't seem to find it now, and was looking for help/guidance on this issue.

If you can't find the article, I'd appreciate any insight into the subject of how much including the HDD might have cost Microsoft for Xbox.

No point here, it's for a seperate argument I'm having at torchthebridge. I'm actually in a debate with someone as we speak, and one of my main points is that the added HDD put a layer of cost on Microsoft that they weren't able to as easily reduce in price as the rest of the components, significantly contributing to the overall money loss of the [original] Xbox business model.
