So the short is that my car gave out on me today. It is a 2006 PT Cruiser that was at about 150K miles. It had a good run. I drive the heck out of my car for work. Usually 40-100 miles a day.

I NEED to buy a car tomorrow and have a pre-approved loan from Capital One. I'm dumb and don't know all the details on the loan as I haven't agreed/viewed the terms yet. I've taken the day off of work tomorrow to see what they have at the dealership.

Any suggestions of cars would be greatly helpful. I'm hoping to say under 10K as I can pay it off in about 6-8 months. Please keep in mind I am going to beat the hell out of this car.

And this is my first time buying any car so I know nothing!

Older Honda Civic if you like driving at all or Toyota Corolla if you just need an appliance. Either one in decent shape should last you a long time. See if you can arrange for a pre-purchase inspection at a mechanic close to a dealer if you find one. The cost of that (100-150) most likely could potentially save you thousands.
