Lost burned Music iTunes - Need Help

I recently upgraded to iPhone 13 from iPhone 6s. When I went to sync to my iTunes on Windows 10. iTunes was updated to latest version before syncing. I noticed all my playlist and burned music files were gone. Only music I have are the bought from Apple. It's like over 500 songs, I really want to avoid burning my CDs again and some CDs are scratched and may not be able to burn.

Any help to recover is appreciated.
 
On pc my downloaded music is in a music folder that also contains an iTunes folder. All my CDs ripped in iTunes are held within iTunes folder. I cannot help you if you are using Mac, I don't use them.
 
This seems like a really strange problem. Did you accidentally start a new library? Or maybe you didn't have add to library checked off for adding new music. In any case, the files should still be on your computer. Try running a simple search in the music folder

I'm sync to iTunes on PC.

There seems to be 2 different iTunes folder, must've happened when I did latest iTunes update. But not sure how to make the file with oldest date be chosen when I open iTunes app. Gonna need to do more search.

Do a search for the .mp3 or whatever file extension you copied the cds to and let the PC find them.

My MacBook died 3yrs ago, so I've been syncing on my PC since. I just bought another MacBook for my trip just before Christmas, but I didn't and couldn't transfer it to new MacBook. Now back at home trying to figure out how to find my music.

I mean who TF still uses burned music CDs? Either you go full streaming or streaming + vinyl + CDs and you never have to worry about it. OPs problem is from 10 years ago.

Yes, iPhones are fun which is why Apple has like 95% of worlds profits in the segment.

Won't help you OP but since subscribing to Apple Music, i have yet to burn a single song and everything is synced across the board. 12 bucks (Aus pricing) a month is worth it for the lossless files alone. I can download all the music locally too.

This was burned 5yrs ago and was on my iTunes library since. My iPhone 6s had all my music on it was syncing fine with all my music. When I updated iTunes before Christmas also time I bought new iPhone 13 and sync to iTunes that's when I noticed my music missing.

I haven't used an Apple device of any kind in ages, but I remember absolutely hating itunes and the way you had to manage your music.

If you are using the same computer that you ripped the CD's to then they will still be on that computer.

My Computer / Music / iTunes / iTunes Media.

Change where iTunes files are stored on PC

On your PC, change where your iTunes files are stored. You can also manage your files and create folders for better organisation.

There's nothing wrong with having physical backups of music, OP. There are some streaming versions of songs that were either removed completely and now can't be found anywhere or were censored because the lyrics that no one had a problem with years ago are "offensive" now. It's always best to keep your own backups because you never know what happens with digital stuff in the future, especially with major tech companies being the thought police these days.
 
Rip your CDs again, and this time don't use a retarded proprietary format by Apple. It's not 2006 anymore.
 
I remember this would happen every time I would plug in my iPod touch to my PC to add music every year or so. Even though it's literally the same PC where I didn't change the motherboard or processor or operating system or video card or disk drives over a seven year period, iTunes would still consider this to be a new PC and would want to delete every bit of media on it. I don't even know how that works but of course I never let it happen. It seems like a really shitty thing to do to just straight up delete all the shit on your PC when you plug in an Apple device to sync media. After a while iTunes stopped talking to that iPod touch and it wasn't a problem anymore. Even with all sorts of crazy third-party apps I could never successfully add music anymore. Factory resetting the iPod touch didn't help either.
 
Thanks for the replies, I've got CDs from the 90s that I burned. I've not had any issues syncing my music with iTunes since the 2nd Gen iPhone. I've used both MacBook and PC iTunes.

Just now it seems iTunes is broken on PC, replaced by Apple Music on MacBook and iPhones.

Still haven't figured fixed yet! But I still have my CDs, likely have to burn them again lol
 
Seeing as you purchased rights to that music for personal use you might just be within your rights to just torrent it...

...i could be wrong, I'm hugely inexperienced with torrenting of course.

This is why I self-host my music. No proprietary software for music collection, syncing; just grab an app and all my music is on any phone/browser/etc. Sharing my collection with friends, just send them a user/pass.

Been decades since I converted my CD collection to digital. I used this;

CDex | Free CD to MP3 converter, ripper, FLAC, M4A, WMA, OGG, CD extractor

cdex.mu cdex.mu

It indexed all the files along with meta-data from an online database. Took me forever as I MASSIVE collection of CDs from over the years collecting but it did the job fine and very quickly.

Scratched CD's, use the toothpaste approach. It mostly always worked for me, even on gaming CD's. Smear the CD in toothpaste over the scratches, let it dry and then gently wash off the excess toothpaste. The amount of scratched CD's I managed to save was unreal, it really worked. Saved music I'd made (and others) from certain death. It isn't 100% but was amazing what I recovered. Of course depends on the quality on the physical CD and the damage to it. Got Some CDs that were scratched beyond belief to rip and they conversions mostly worked fine but you would get ones that would instead of skipping in a loop with the drive try to continually read it, would just skip the damaged part. Was better than nothing. Obviously copies on cheap CD's failed more often though but you'd get most of the track with the odd blip.

Again this is an-oldschool technique but only takes a few minutes to try to see if it works.

Still don't know what to do with my massive CD collection as most are scratched. Thought about leaving them on the road for anyone to take. Could get done for dumping though by the council but I'd say the artwork alone would be a goldmine for an art-student for a collage or some shit if I posted it online. The thought of some cunt asking me to list everything in the massive box though made me second think that idea. What a waste tooo with the amount that I have, complete collections of Bowie, Stevie Wonder, Daft Punk (then) I really have hundreds.

Unfortunately, that's another subscription I don't want to sign up to. Got way too many subs, Netflix HBO max and Prime.

Music subs I've been avoiding. When it comes to music, I'm a boomer. I only listen to my old catalog lol
