Lovely foreign exchange student discussion about Americans from 1954 feat. Finnish, Korean, Pakistani, Nigerian

i always love vintage videos.

obviously it's just a few experiences and opinions, but its just so refreshing looking into the window of the past and comparing life then and now.

I added some clarity that wasn't in the original video.

And have 1000x more common sense than todays marshmallow kids.
I didn’t watch the whole video but just shows you how we as a society really have gone backwards.

Yeah.

And the so-called diversity was there, no animosity between any of them, people were intelligent, articulate, and could live in harmony just fine.

Not sure I would say things are worse now, all I see are 4 women having a tea party with a Korean guy... Have tea parties changed that much since the 50s?

This was a better and more authentic world than ours. But it created many of pur present day problems. I recall reading that Sayyid Qutb, one of the leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood, and one of the fathers of modern violent Islam took his first turn toward fundamentalism while he was a exchange student in the US during the 50’s. He was turned away from a movie theatre because he was black. You reap what you sow.
