I mean its a rogue like, its kinda part of itIt is a very fun game, no doubt... but a little bit overrated for my taste :-( I finished a full run, saw that this is everything this game would offer [i could be wrong, of course] and uninstalled it - hate when everything you 'buy' is thrown away for the next run (same reason i cannot stand Returnal, for exampe)
Yeah its sound track and effects are strangely calming.I mean its a rogue like, its kinda part of it
I like it, its a nice wind down game imo
Easy one of my top 5 most played games last year. Serious contender for my personal GOTY as well.I was looking forward to this when it launched on Apple and thought it was the stupidest shit ever. I played it for like an hour and deleted it.
All these rogueshit games are dumb and it being a goty type game in all the publications last year was embarassing.
The music and sfx are so hypnotic. This is the Hotline Miami of middle-aged Vegas depression. It understands me.Yeah its sound track and effects are strangely calming.
Controls better on phone, the fact you can't play with touchscreen only on Steam Deck is a travesty.Great game. Perfect on the phone as well.
I travel loads for work and the game is a god send. Generally I don't play phone games but this one is different.Controls better on phone, the fact you can't play with touchscreen only on Steam Deck is a travesty.
The phone version kept me alive during a particularly brutal series of layovers recently.
Don't leave home without it.
I'm about as far removed from whatever the fuck a hipster is as you can get and I rate the game very highly.Very meh, and over-rated by hipsters.
I dunno... Bungie, Destiny and GaaS fan? That's pretty hipster, bruh. Did you rave and ramble about Vampire Survivors too?I'm about as far removed from whatever the fuck a hipster is as you can get and I rate the game very highly.
Yes, Yes, Yes. No.I dunno... Bungie, Destiny and GaaS fan? That's pretty hipster, bruh. Did you rave and ramble about Vampire Survivors too?![]()
People that like what's popular. I believe it was Alex from Nintendo Life who started this Balatro fuckery.Yes, Yes, Yes. No.
Whats a hipster btw? I googled it and it just came up with some bearded scruffy cunts.
Back in my day I think the term for me would be Trendsetter, not Hipster.People that like what's popular. I believe it was Alex from Nintendo Life who started this Balatro fuckery.
Well fuck me you really do learn something new everyday.I mean, the creator of MARBLE MADNESS seems to like it... Β―\_(γ)_/Β―
That's why I deleted it from my phone, my Switch and my PS5. And for the Switch and PS5, I put my physical copies away also. This seriously destroyed my work life for a while.Send. Fucking. Help. NOW.

What's the update all about?Looking forward to the update when it comes later this year. At that point I know it is going to pull me straight back in.
We don't know yet, but it should be pretty significant. Best guess is new jokers and decks, maybe more challenges as well. What's the update all about?
I still don't know what I'm even doing so by the time this rolls out I may actually understand the additions! HoorayWe don't know yet, but it should be pretty significant. Best guess is new jokers and decks, maybe more challenges as well.
Love the game. Played insane amounts during our sea passages to Antarctica last winter.
That's not Hipster you crack head! Hipster is the opposite, the obnoxious alternative ones, e.g. oh you like pepperoni pizza? Well I like arugula on sourdough with a splash of olive oil.People that like what's popular. I believe it was Alex from Nintendo Life who started this Balatro fuckery.
It's currently on PS+ if you have it. That's how I'm getting into it.I would like to try a demo since card games and poker are really not my cup of tea.
You cant finish a full run and say youve seen it.... because unlocking all the decks and stripes and all the joker combos etc is the point of the game basically. Yes you saw the gameplay but it gets considerably different and harder and more interesting the more you unlock and the more "conditions" are placed - factor in randomization and its very addictive. One thing I use the game for is at the gym on the bike.... I have a microsoft surface and I want to say its one of the most touch friendly games on PC. I also play it on the phone, the PC version plus touch in my opinion is actually BETTER than the touch phone version just feels fantastic but that said Ive played even more on the phone just for availability's sake. Its def a game you will be happy to write off if you dont know any better but for addictiveness its EASILY a sleeper hit, because the use of the classic card deck we all know is just a low bar of entry into what has NOTHING to do with any traditional card game at its core, which is stacking buffs, ordering them for execution and building strategy around upgrades. It is a very fun game, no doubt... but a little bit overrated for my taste :-( I finished a full run, saw that this is everything this game would offer [i could be wrong, of course] and uninstalled it - hate when everything you 'buy' is thrown away for the next run (same reason i cannot stand Returnal, for exampe)

The "ironic" anti-mainstream.
