All this game had to do was feed you enemies so you can slo-mo kill them and try to create scary scenarios and it flat out failed.

The original Fear had significantly more weapons to kill enemies in a variety of ways

The story here is questionable, if not terrible. You're point man (backbone of the game) and there's a psychic side character Paxton Fettel who's there for cooperative play.

Alma's presence isn't as big and kinda forgotten.

The atmospheric levels from the first game just aren't here, there's value in the mech fights around the city and highway but it's like expecting a 5 star experience with fast food.

I'm pretty sure the multiplayer is dead, but who was even playing this in 2011 with shooters like Gears, Halo and COD at their prime.

Overall if this was included in a remaster bundle, or on sale like how I got it, it's probably not worth the play through, there's the damn achievements so there's that.

What did GAF think of Fear 3? Game stinks right? Disappointment? What are we comparing it against Fear 1?

I did not even finish the third.. the first was a masterpiece (and it's a shame the multiplayer never caught on because it was the best.. the melee attacks you could do were just brutal)

Insert a disc, and you download the game. Instead of dealing with that DRM, I present to you F.E.A.R without DRM.

This game was a massive letdown over the first two games.
Yep. FEAR is one of the best FPS of all time and one of my favorite games of all time. FEAR 2 was good but not to the same level but I definitely still enjoyed it. F3AR however was just bad in almost everyway outside of the supermarket level.

I liked it and thought it was a better shooter than FEAR 2. 2 felt too consolified.

I'm probably an outlier here but I like FEAR 2 more than the first one.

Probably because it's too consolified as my entry-point are the X360 versions. FEAR2 was an extremely good X360 shooter where FEAR 1 felt like a competent PC port at best.
