Many years ago I played RE5 on PS3, and I'm beating up on zombies mutant things coop with friends in mercenaries mode, there's a heightened level of action here and RE5 is in the vicinity of 3rd person shooter, and action horror and I believe the series is destined to go back to this formula at some point, obviously RE6 was pure adrenaline, RE1-3 are better, 4 is handled perfectly, and now you're having solid resident evil games with VR RE7, RE8 and now 9.
RE5 people were like "well it's not traditional resident evil" and it didn't impress the hardcore fans but that doesn't mean it isn't a very good game.
Visually when it comes to games from this era you see lots of greys, browns, muddy graphics and its intention was based off the African/oil refineries/swamp landscapes.
Bottom line
There's 6 main chapters spread across 15-20 Hours not counting mercenaries mode, battling the mastermind of Umbrella, and the speedy gameplay to me makes this a must play game.
