In the event that you indeed at the Billiards level, know that you can glitch through the door by hovering through on one of the boxes in the room.

Yep one is an instrument of torture.
the other is a game.
You know, the rest of 2006 isn't all that bad when compared to the billiards (outside of Last Story). It's still really bad, but it gets even worse when you get there.

When you get to the billiards, it's just fucking torture (when you don't know about the glitch). Who designed that and thought it was a good idea when the rest of the game doesn't play all that well? The game is filled with bad design from top to bottom, but this... this...

I'm one of those who didn't know there was a glitch(Didn't until this thread), as I usually play through games with out looking at guides.

All I know is, I don't ever want to do that section of the game again.

The billiards were simply the first level of madness. It spirals down later on. Way later on. Last Story is horrible.

But seriously, and I want to get this out, fuck the billiards. What a load of crock.

Last Story is insane compared to the physics puzzles. :lol

Cause you guys were describing the billiards like it was vomit covered shit from ET 2600's asshole. I'm disappointed. It was just a thing. Never gave it a second thought.

The part that got me super angry before was the forest stage. I seemingly reached a dead end. Wasted 7 fucking lives trying to figure out what to do. Turns out you were supposed to hold R2 on top of a silver crate to make it hover. THE GAME NEVER TOLD YOU THAT SHIT. SILVER KEPT SAYING "I WISH I COULD GO UP". WHAT IN THE FUCK DOES THAT EVEN MEAN. Not to mention the fucked up physics on the swinging logs... that stage was easily the most fucked up experience I've had with that game so far. No fucking way they tested that shit.

That puzzle is an odd thing. It took my about 17 minutes on my first attempt, and on a replay I got it in under a minute on the first try. And compared to the rest of the game, the Last Story is a pain, but by that point you will have learned the broken langauge of this game's controls enough to maybe get with just one or two game overs. The more torturous part is having to skip the FIVE cinematics to retry it again.

With 06 and Sonic Team, I think this was genuinely a case where they became numb to how bad it was. Just like when there's a horrible stench in a room, and your nose seemingly gets used to it after a while, I think Sonic Team honestly were unable to tell how incomplete this game was after a point. This is why focus testing exists. A team of people that are creating something for so much time can't tell if it's good or not after a while.


Anyway, in an overall bad product, these are the worst sections of the game to me:

10) Shadow vs. Mephelis 1: I couldn't figure out what to do. I eventually threw myself into the lava, which caused the little shits to charge you up faster.
9) Poochie/Sonic vs. Iblis: Not the most unplayable section really, but a fucking boring as hell fight that stretches on for agggges. And you have to do it twice.
8) Sonic's Aquatic Base: FUCK that uncontrollable bubble
7) Sonic's White Acropolis: timing the final snowboard jump is bullshit. So many deaths.
6) Rouge's Kingdom Valley section: Those fucking keys. WHERE ARE THEY WHY ARE STUCK TO THE WALL!!
5) Silver's Tropical Jungle: Good luck finding your way out fucker.
4) Soleanna fucking trials fuck: This shit right here. Not only are there three forced horrible sub missions, losing any of them means you just went through the mission trigger > load > mission objective dialogue > load > fail mission > load > you lose dialogue > load back to the adventure feild, and you have to repeat that again. FOR ONE MISSION. Did I mention one of them gives you no rings? Yeah have fun.
3) Silver's Billiard Hell: I think Dark Schala has done this justice. Although through some occasional miracle, you may have no trouble at all.
2) Last story: spoiler tagged so Anth0ny has the pleasure of discovering himself.
A seven part hell where you are forced upon every single shitty half tested friend in this game. Everything bad about the 3D Sonics, all crammed into one stage, seperated by five loads to get to, and six load times to complete. It's almost a marvel how much crap they were able to condense for this travesty of a level.
1) The loading times: far and above the worst aspect of the game that makes every bad thing in the game even worse. I'm of the opinion that were the load times cleaned up, about 40% of the misery caused by this game would dissappear. Sure, there's still the rest of the shit, but at least you're not waiting half a minute to get to play said shit.

Anyway, in an overall trainwreck of a game, these to me are the 10 Sonic 06 trails. If you can make it through these, the rest of the game isn't as shit as these 10 special moments.

Wait, what? There's a glitch for that stage? Urgh, I've S ranked that stage twice and never knew there was a glitch to skip the sheer misery of the ball section.

i agree ..multiple cinematic loading in a row when you juts want to get over it is really something i just don't undestand..

and yeah i think the team couldn't see the project as a whole before release ..they either didn't test it ( at all ) or they did test it and corrected things ( imagine how it would have been then ) the levels are full of glitches but 95% of them are collision detection..

some other things are just weird from a programmer prespective. WHY is shadow voice set loaded during a sonic level ?

Oh yeah, they're part of the experience that is the Last Story. Also, Last Story has the best checkpoints in the game.

Yup. Mid air!

But I beat everyone elses Last Story segment in less than a minute and didn't get a game over. I'm guessing if I lost all my lives I'd have to do it all over again?
