The show got tiresome in the later seasons. Clay and Gemma should have been offed far sooner than they were.

Jax got annoying with his head shake saying "I promise you"... his promises meant jack shit.

Jax leads his group into avoidable firefight.
Jax appears after the shooting stops.
"ARE WE WHOLE? I SAID ARE WE WHOLE?!"

Happens at least once per season.

I too was late to the SAMCRO party, and marathoned the show about 6 months ago.

I had my frustrations and problems with parts of it, but I dug in and loved a lot of the characters. I'm suprised at the hate it gets in this thread (though the same goes for a lot of shows).

I enjoyed the ride, and liked how they ended it. It's not the pinnacle of television, but it was enjoyable nonetheless.

How can you like that ending? It was the worst. Kurt Sutter is a hack and that ending was inexcusable.

I binged it and it was... okay I guess.

Pretty amusing the entire series arc for like... every season was;
- dude fucks up
- dude blames fuck up on someone else
- samcro starts beef with that someone else
- entire season is trying to squash that beef

The clumsy Jesus analogy, you enjoyed that? Did you think that it was appropriate for a character who was an nonredeemable cunt, as Jax was by that point?

i didnt care for the "jesus analogy" i just watched a father trying to make a future for his sons, a man, realizing that there is no escape from that life that has taken so much from him, after several tries to get out, he tried and tried to no avail, thats the only thing that he could do, make sure his sons dont go the same road he did

he is a monster, and he knows it

I marathoned the shit out of the first three seasons. Probably one of my biggest binges ever. Six was where I started to dislike it, because I hated what they did with
...Tara....
.

Fuck Gemma.

The series should have ended after season 4 with Opie killing Clay. It was a natural end point for the series with everything that led up to that. Everything took a nosedive in quality after that. Fuck Kurt Sutter.

The show started off really great. You had this small town feel and Jax trying to anything he can to remain loyal to his real father, while is surrogate father tries to drag him down to the depths with the rest of them.

Then Breaking Bad came along and Sutter thought that the villain needs to be the hero, so he turns Jax into a cold blooded killer, who does it "for his family" (sound familiar?)

Had the show kept to its roots, and actually had Jax be the hero, the show would have meant so much more.

Just started this show and near and the end of season 2. Must say it really is medicore lol. Just so much dumb shit and pointless plot lines than go no where.

The stupid songs that play at the end of each episode while jaxs kisses that girl makes it some teen shit like smallville and vampire diaries.

I hear it gets worse but I have nothing else to watch currently.

It started out ok, but it never becomes great it just kind of limps along then fizzles out. I did watch it all though but here were times I wondered why. There was a few moments of greatness sprinkled throughout.

My girlfriend loves it for some reason - probably for the same reasons the OP loves it, I imagine. But I saw a handful of episodes here and there, including the first two, and it seemed kinda dumb.

Season 2 is great, but the last two episodes of that season are so jarring as in how anti-climactic they are. Season 4 had a similiar problem, but handled it much better - my favourite Season. S5 took it too far and with the abysmal S6 premiere I was out...

Edit: Especially in comparison to The Shield, the alltime GOAT in terms of pay-off, Sons of Anarchy is nothing.

This would've been good. And also Kurt not bottling it every single time Jazz actually had a conscious by screwing him over.

I kinda enjoyed this show, but it's so difficult to get invested in something where none of the main characters are likeable - Chucky, Nero and Tig were awesome though.

I thought it was kinda strange how the club seemed to really object to selling drugs from a moral point of view, especially at first, even though in almost every single episode someone would die from the guns they own/sold.

I remember the show being basically this.

SAMCRO commit atrocity against [ally faction] for indefensible reasons.
SAMCRO character - "What are we going to do now Jax? [ally faction] are going to come for our heads!"
JAX - "It'll be ok. I've got a plan to make it all good with [ally faction]. I'm going to offer them the guns business."
SAMCRO character furrows brow in deep thought, after a moment says - "You know, that might just work."

Don't forget when Charming rallies around their ragamuffin biker gang because.... corporations and condos are bad even though from a results perspective they may as well be a local branch of fucking ISIS.

I wish they would have ended with season 6. It would have been way more impactful if Jax had taken his life shortly after finding Tara, with Gemma having to live out the rest of her life torn by her responsibility in the deaths of the only people she ever loved. Season 7 seemed tacked on and unreasonable and definitely killed the momentum the end of season 6 had going.

Great show all in all, it had it's faults but it was entertaining. I don't get all the gripes with it really, it's not meant to be super realistic.
