Holy shit, I only just noticed: in the Rainbow Road video, Luigi spins his cart round knocking Mario, but still manages to fix his eyes on Mario as his kart spins.

2 things I want to note as a Scandinavian person who just bought a Wii-U:
1. If you live in Norway (Not sure if other Scandinavian countries can do this) you are able to take advantage of the free-game promotion. HOWEVER: Club Nintendo is not found in Scandinavian countries. So if you go to the Club Nintendo page to register your game and get the free game, you wont be able to. So go to the norwegian nintendo page and there you will find a place to register your code and pick a free game. This isn't tied to Club Nintendo in any way so you wont get a Club Nintendo membership by doing this. But you will get the free game code (which they send out during the month of August so you wont get it instantly).
2. After a lot of Updating, the console itself, the games, the control-pad-thingie and all the general usability stuff is.. AWESOME. The Wii-U went straight up to first place of contemporary favorite console for me. So if you think Mario Kart is the only thing good about a Wii-U, don't worry. It's VERY worth it. And the fact that a Wii-U is WAY cheaper than PS4 and XBone is.. just awesome.

Nintendo inadvertently(?) created a beast with Luigi Death Stare. Between the utterly ferocious hits MK has always been known for, and now replays of the big hits with slo-mo and such.. it's impossible to not get sucked in. This sort of thing just happens and is almost impossible to plan for.

I picked Zelda HD. I'm planning to buy Pikmin 3 with a giftcard that has exactly enough money in it for 1 Wii-U game

I live in Finland and it's the same here, but I just made a UK Club Nintendo account and got my free game there. They don't even ask for an address as long as you don't get any physical items. I didn't want to wait until August, and from UKCN I got the code for Pikmin 3 instantly.

It took a few races for me to get a decent one. It's about the position and distance from who you hit and hope it shows up on the replay. So yeah it's mostly luck.

I love how this things blown up. I'm sure Nintendos marketing team is super happy with this. You cant really plan for something like this to go so viral.
Absolutely. Something similar happened when Villager was revealed for Smash. But the Luigi death stare goes beyond that because it's something that I'm sure not even Nintendo has planned. Maybe when they were creating the game and doing the character animations they just casually said: "Nah, just give Luigi a slightly angry looking face to make it different from Mario's expressions" and BOOOM! Now because of that, Luigi is literally more popular than Mario, at least in MK8, haha.
