Betty was kind of looking to cheat anyhow and she knew from experience Don wont say anything.

Yeah, she was looking for it the whole episode, "can you believe I've had three children?" Then telling Henry about it got him all riled up, she finally got it back and she's gonna get it where she can.

Yeah the first one he said he sent the food to Roger's mother's funeral because he would have appreciated it when his dad died
I can't imagine it being a plot hole so I guess he's just a sneaky motherfucker

Oh man, the idea that Bob is lying and basically stole his father's nurse for Petes mother. Lololol

Or it could just be a little white lie to suck up to Pete.

Or the nurse will be Bob in disguise and we're going to get a spin off involving the crazy hijinks of Bob and alzheimers mom.

Betty wanted to take her new bod for a spin and managed to get some pretty needed emotional closure with Don. Good for her.

Don's change of heart concerning Megan isn't even going to last until the end of the next episode.

A friend just posted the following on my wall:

"If Bob Benson doesn't turn out to be either:
a) A serial killer
b) A homeless man masquerading as an employee
c) Don Draper from a parallel universe
I'll be disappointed."

a) would be hilarious if I'm honest.

I loved the episode. However, if I merely too every time I thought "No, that's not going to happen, too obvious" and said "yes it will," I would have predicted:

Don and Betty
Megan getting hit on (actually, I did think this was going to happen)
Abe getting stabbed

Roger's daughter seemed a little over-dramatic and hair-triggered on cutting of Roger, btw. 4-year-olds are irrational, but they get over it.

Didn't Bob say his father died?
I just checked and he totally did, wtf.

Oh dear Peggy

Damn nice catch on that one. Completely forgot about it. I think his character is the type to lie(in a non malicious way) to get people to trust and relate to him. Also i have to rewatch and depending on how he said it but he could have meant before his father died. Wasnt Pete in the room when Bob said his father passed away?

Nah, Pete wasn't there for that. The only one who knows about Bob's father "dying" so far is Ken Cosgrove.

"This is my mom and dad!"

*gives no fucks*

Bobby is positively giddy.

that boy aint right

Bobby 5 is so great. and isn't he kinda the 4th actor to portray bobby in the show? It would have been great if they went with bobby 4. :p But that kid is stellar, its a shame that sally is being a teenager :( She was so adorable.

"loving you is the worst way to get to you"
YO DAMN

Betty dropping the knowledge.

I'm confused as hell. Did January Jones just act?

I loved their interaction together, the two of them alone without Henry or Megan is simply good mad men. I just love how casually Betty left the door open for Don, because she knew.

Bob should do more scenes without a shirt.

Or pants.

Who wears short shorts? Bob wears short shorts.

I am on the Bob Benson train.

Bob Benson is the best. Though I hope he isn't as slimy as folks assume. :( He is such a sweetheart. And she was drinking his coffee. :D

The summer outfits everyone was rocking were great.

All the receptionists were lightly dressed, which really helped set the tone for the time of season we're in. Of course, Don visiting Bobby at camp also accomplishes this but still.......

Peggy's yellow dress looked infinitely better once she got home and dropped the matching jacket she had on at the office.

Don's blue and white accented shirt at camp is something I would pay for and wear.

Ditto for 2 Coffees green shirt that he had on (above) at Joan's place. I don't know about those shorts though.

And then Joanie's blue beach dress with that logo and lite white stripes on the sleeves. Could you imagine seeing that on the boardwalk with her hair up? Dangerous.....

That's what I thought about Betty as well. I can't fault her for cheating on Henry; EVERYONE on this show does it and I think the closure is deserved.

I feel pretty sad for Megan but that started when Don started boning the doctor's wife. I don't even know what to wish for her anymore...

I like Boan (I prefer this to Joab personally) and hope she actually finds some much deserved happiness. Although I've always thought that at some point she would settle down with Roger. I feel like she's the one he's always really wanted.

Holy cow this show is the the most engaging TV has ever been for me.

I know Betty's been a darling for some viewers since the beginning, but she never really clicked with me, I think. Until this last ep! cot dalm one episode and betty shoots to the top of the leaderboard.

Bob Benson is also a fantastic asset to this season, love that motherfucker.

I hope they avoid the predictable Roger-Pete tension over Benson. However, if anything happens to him, the writers have successfully manipulated my emotions.

Poor Roger.

I wonder if Henry is clueless, or if he knows that eventually (already) Betty is going to cheat on him because she's tired of that beta dick.

No. Nobody in this thread watches or likes the show, it's just a thread where people talk about how terrible the pilot was seven years later.

Silly, I was moreso curious if there was a point that it got good, or do people just like it from episode 1 and I'm wasting my time considering watching more.

bitch I'm taking calls.
Betty knew exactly what she was doing. It was extremely cathartic and hilarious to see Don get used in the same way he has done to so many women. The post sex pillow talk is probably one of my favourite scenes this season. Even the father Abraham singing was cute to me because it really shows something their family never has, an actually healthy bonding moment. It's super bizarre to see Don and Betty as good parents.

Also I am on board with the rest of the skeptics over Bob (2 Coffees) Benson. Something is up because he has been a constant presence on the show and yet we know so little about his inner motivations. Something is definitely up.

I don't see him and Joan as romantic though. I think one of the reasons they have become such good friends is because he is perhaps one of the first male's in her life that doesn't see her as a sexual object. He pretty much treats her kindly as a person and friend and thus she is able to let her guard down and not worry about him trying to get into her pants. Thus it makes sense for Joan's character to strongly bond with a man who treats her this way.

If you were in Don's situation at camp with your ex-wife and her new husband would you expect to sit with them over breakfast? Seems harsh to make him go on his own.

Eh, they've never gotten along though. They aren't friends in any way and I've never seen the men show any respect for the other.

As several of you noted in the comments this morning, in that scene with Ken in the premiere, Bob said his father was dead; here, he tells Pete that the nurse recently brought his father back to health. In the light of the morning, I think Bob Benson: Sociopath is winning again as the theory.

Hmmm.

Even if Bob was just a friendly, honest guy I'd still hate him. Epitome of a "yes man".

We need more of Ginsburg's girlfriend. When she said "I'm just doing this as a favor to my parents" I couldn't tell if that meant it wasn't going to happen again, or if she was just trying to make him less nervous.

There is no change of heart. All the girls this Season used Don just like he used to. Betty was the last straw. He wants his ladies to beg for him to stay, and they're not begging no more. As kinky as this may be, Betty understands him the most. His comments during the bed encounter struck Don straight to the heart. Weirdly, we didn't see any reaction from him other than continuing to make out with her. She used him and he realized that when he saw her and Henry having breakfast. Of course he had to go back with a straight face to Megan. He knows that while he chases other around, she is the only one who needs Don more than he needs her.

Oh and Bob looks like someone who is willing to lie to everyone to know the ins and outs of the company. Its all business to him no matter how friendly he gets with everyone. He will continues this until he gets recognized by all, and will pretend none of that happen when he gets his foot in where he wants.

Peggy is another story. She is having the time of her life, and has realized that the only difference between Don and Ted is that Don resets every day while Ted resets every Monday. I guess she is going to fly back to Duck and join Pete in the new ensemble of rejects.

It is amusing how people don't seem to care about Betty cheating on such a nice guy like Henry yet Don is the devil for cheating on megan. I guess Betty gonna betty though.

They're both fucked up people just on different ends of the spectrum. She is doing it because she is enjoying her life of status and because she can. He is doing it because he's just a fucked up guy who has problems in relationships.

Sorry, I'm a day behind because of Arrested Development.

I love Betty. Ice. Fucking. Cold.

She set a trap and Don fell for it like a complete fucking idiot.

More power to you, Birdie.

I thought both Don and Betty got what they wanted out of that session. Only difference was that afterwards she has something good to go back to and he doesn't.

Betty was in control of that entire situation.

No doubt she enjoyed the sex, but that was primarily a punishment for his prolonged douchebaggery. It was also an indirect shot at Megan.

Don wanted another extended physical/emotional dalliance, but Betty is not going down that road with him. That's gonna sting for quite a while.
