Finally sat and watched the premiere on my DVR. I loved it. Incredibly morbid as I'm sure has been discussed a ton already in this thread, but wow. At least a reference to death in almost every scene.

January Jones was great, so glad Peggy's back to being a major character (at least it seems like that's the case). Though even though I usually prefer brunettes, I'm not totally sold on Peggy as one.

Don't recall terribly enjoying the episode Hamm directed last season.
I had to look up which one it was from last season.
Tea Leaves

Betty discovers that she has a tumor, Peggy interviews an obnoxious young copywriter for a job, the firm tries to get the Mohawk Airlines account back, and Don and Harry try to court The Rolling Stones to record a commercial.

Just watched the premiere last night.
They took every opportunity to show Megan with little to no clothes on. Is this season the fall of Don Draper? That was a good dynamic they had with the doctor being in awe of Don's profession and all of the glamour, while Don was in awe of the Doctor and all of his responsibility.

Also, as far as the vacations of Don Draper go, California>>>Hawaii. I'm hoping out hope for a return of Claus the doctor.

New episode tonight:
The Collaborators

Don has a disagreement with a client; Pete entertains a guest; Peggy tries to motivate the staff.
Note that Mad Men has moved back to it's normal airtime of 10pm this evening. Tonight's episode is a little longer than usual and will run until 11:04.

There isn't even really a point to worry about spoiler that it seems. This is the only show at times where I am not worried to get spoiled by tv spots or anything. Such vague points that are funny and make the show even better.

I understand that Mad Men and Weiner rarely (if ever) spoil anything in promos and loglines. Nonetheless, in an attempt to be consistent across OT's and not get into a situation where I'm subjectively deciding what I think is a spoiler, I just tag all of them and request other people do that same. Hope that makes sense even in the face of it seeming a little silly in this case.

I assumed that spoiler tagging makes it even better. It is the Mad Men way.

They are really increasing vagueness of previews even more this season, no? I mean, preview of "The Collaborators" looked more like a parody and this summary could be applied to nearly half the episodes of the show. Insane.

Found another description for tonights ep via avclub:

The Collaborators:
Don is in this one. Roger says something you may find funny. You'll notice Joan's tits. Are they bigger? I mean, you could suffocate I bet.

This actually contains more info about tonight's episode than the official synopsis. Matthew freaking Weiner.

So, I've been watching season 1 again, after like 5 years. It's remarkable how consistent the quality has remained, while the characters change so much. The pilot feels completely out of place though, but it's a pilot.

Yeah, I'm glad they cut the stupid transitions with generic music after the pilot. It really is amazing to do a rewatch and be dumbfounded at how much each character has changed or developed.

That AV club description is hilarious.
