I think calling Linda Cardellini a 'known' might be stretching things a bit. Freaks and Geeks is pretty niche. I guess she was in ER, but ... I don't remember her in it at all, though I was never a regular watcher.
I didn't know her from either of those, I knew her from boy meets world lol. Kind of maybe had a small crush on her when I was little :(

I said it earlier in this thread but I never blamed Corey Matthews for falling for her when he did, to Topanga's dismay.

i realized from the first episode of the season. but then freaks and geeks is one of my favourite shows and i've watched through it a few times so her appearance is pretty firmly lodged in my head.

For some dumb reason I largely remember Cardellini as Velma in those godawful Scooby Doo movies.

I do wonder what you are supposed to think of Pete in this episode. I think that maybe that the response to him has been a bit too harsh, granted this isn't surprising giving his prior behaviour but still...

Anyone who has dealt with an Alzheimers/dementia suffering family member knows how hard and frustrating it is. His lies might seem bad but at the end of the day he did it to protect her and he did look after her in his house. He definitely isn't handling it admirably, but I don't think he is being bad about it. Most of his venting was - despite the words - about his (a very long list) personal failings - Trudy and work in particular.

Is that a good sign for ol Two Coffees on Mad Men, though? Trudy was infrequent enough that balancing a big sitcom w/ Mad Men was do-able. But Two Coffees Benson has been, if I remember right, in EVERY EPISODE so far this year. Smallish roles each time, but still, that's basically a regular.

Random shaky prediction for Peggy

Let's say she gives in, sleeps with Ted; Meanwhile, as an act of pacifying her general bitchiness towards him, Don offers her a small stake in the new firm (like Joan), while Harry gets shut-out again and completely loses his shit better than last time when he figures out Peggy & Ted

I don't get why people like Harry. The only good thing he's done in years is give Kinsey a ticket to LA to pursue his dreams, which was arguably mean since his writing was so awful. And that was still after fucking Lakshmi. Maybe he's a good tv man but I feel like in an office full of assholes and flawed characters, he has little to no redeeming qualities for me to still root for amidst the piles of garbage behaviour.

I don't know what you're "Supposed" to think of him, but I definitely thought he was just a TINY bit humanized. He's being a supremely selfish, spoiled, panicked little shit - but you got a sense of how he became such a person when talking to his mother and his brother. And no matter how frustrated and shitty he was being - he was still putting in the work to take care of her, even if that work was half-assed and full of gin-flavored shortcuts.

But it definitely highlighted the fact that he's still sliding, and his trajectory is downward, as it's been since Season Three, really. It's sort of like Lane's descent into despair: The fascination comes in seeing how much humanity he can try to clutch at as he slip slides away. Pete's swiping at that humanity in a louder, more desperate fashion.

So I didn't quite PITY Pete, but I was interested in seeing him navigate this particular minefield of problems being thrown at his feet.

I feel like his series evolution has been from dork to poseur.

Who likes Harry?
