Madden 360 pics!!

But I thought it would 'look even better than the target renders'? This game is sure to move some systems come November... the killer app! :lol

I think Nathkenn may just be blind or something.

But before you dismiss the commercial, the people at Tiburon say that some of the Madden team didn't want these visuals seen, not because they are setting the bar too high, but too low. Seriously, they say that these are the visuals they were shooting for originally, but that the team now feels that they will be easily surpassed. And if that's the case, NFL fans are in for an amazing display of visual impact.

:lol Set the bar low with EA!

With no competition like Gameday back in the day there really isn't reason for them too. Yeah for sports licenses!!

there's a big difference. EA didn't can Madden PSX because it had crap graphics, they canned it because VC were taking their sweetass time making the game and it was never going to meet the deadline.

So you guys have played the game I see?
So it's gonna be the gameplay that makes it next-gen, not the graphics? Well where've I been this whole time! I bet the new Tony Hawk FEELS next-gen too!

If anythings wrong it has more to do with time available than the hardware.

Given up defending the graphics I see? That battle has been lost. Smart move. :lol

Now's about the time you say "I was just bullshitting you guys for the past few months, I've got no idea what the game's gonna look like, I work at a fucking Office Max". Trust me, everybody will go easier on you.

As far as gameplay goes, dollars to donuts it's the same gameplay currently available.

Yeah, I remember reading in an EGM (December 2000 maybe) that VC was making each team one at a time, instead of doing something or another. Or something. I really don't remember.

:lol :lol I'm laughing at those pics, but crying inside.

Aside from the crowd closeup, I think the pic of the stadium looks rather nice. But the game is nowhere near the quality of that early video. I never really believed too much about what people said about EA, but if I may borrow from the monkeys...

*cue music

*then I saw maddens game, now I'm a believer.
To call this next gen, they must be out of their mind.
I'm in awe, I'm a believer, Its funny EA would want to decieve us,
but they tried.

Exactly what did he promise?

Based on the limited footage we've seen, it doesn't exactly impress in motion either (animation seems essentially the same as the other versions).

It might just be time for a new "turn in your xbot uniform" thread.

EA probably got the first 360 dev kits ever available. How the fuck can they put this shit out? It's unfreakinbelievable.

I think it looks good and with an extra couple months here will be just fine.
:lol People REALLY need to stop being so blind and bloody ignorant. Madden 360 is NOT next-gen quality and EA is just about wrapping up development on the game if they plan to hit their projected November date. It's not like EA can continue "tweaking the graphics" up until the last day before it hits shelves. There is a required amount of testing that is performed by MS before they can approve the game and there's also lead time necessary for the game to pressed and packaged and approval. The whole process takes usually 4-8 weeks and sometimes longer depending on content and how bug ridden the game is when it hits MS.

Bottomline: what you see is what you'll get graphically at this point which is unacceptable for such a profound franchise that supposed to be making the "leap" onto next-gen hardware.

NATHKENN, Seriously, can you respond to this quote?

Marketing has to show whatever was available at the time, regardless of wether it is finished.
These screens also seem blown up like crazy, I actually have never seen them before.
I saw the actual game!!! Last year! I just can't imagine why they would re-release it.

No surprise, new gen sports games always suck in the graphics part (with the exception of NFL2k on Dreamcast launch). You guys have to look past the buisness side of the industry of hyping products.

Holy crap, I forgot about that. This shit makes me want to vomit in rage.

Revolutionary Player Models-3d head scans provide photo-realistic faces and physiques and a level of detail that shows the emotion and intensity of the NFL like never before.

Incredibly Detailed Environments-From the reactions of coaches and players on the sidelines to the seat-level accuracy of thousands of lifelike fans, see details of the stadium that have never been possible before now.

Next Gen Graphical Effects-New graphical engine allows for more realistic lighting and visual effects than ever before.

Redefined Gameplay-Select plays in a whole new way with the innovative playcalling and new picture-in-picture system. Popular features like QB Vision Control and the Hit Stick are also included to make Madden NFL veterans feel right at home.

Sight and Sounds of the NFL-Featuring biased hometown radio announcer, replays and injury reports on the jumbotron, and actual NFL Films on-field audio including hits and player chatter.

Advanced Franchise Mode-The game mode invented by Madden NFL Football comes to the Xbox 360 with new, easy-to-use Player, Team, and Box Score Cards that give you all the information you need to take your team to the top.

Online Play-Find your ideal opponent across the nation using multiple matchmaking options.

Extensive Customization Options-Customize settings, menu music playlists, gameplay controls, strategies, and more.

Now that sounds hot.

bottom line is this. how hard should it be to make a football game look good? especially when using real teams, stadiums, and players whose faces have been digitally scanned or whatever for the last how many years?

these screens dont make me worried that the 360 isnt powerful enough, it just reaffirms my opinion of EA/Tiburon/Madden's graphics team. theyre mediocre.

you know what this reminds me of? Remember all the hype around Gameday for PS2? ALl the "insiders" saying how great it was going to look. How it would shame Madden. And then the shots were released and we got this:

Madden 2001 looked great on PS2 (quite a bit better than NFL2k1 on DC)
Fever 2002 on XBOX looked damn good on XBOX as well

This IS like the Gameday PS2 situation. Now THAT was funny...

The game looks excellent in HD, some of the choice of the stuff they are showing confuses me beyond belief, there's a lot of stuff that could be improved but their simply isnt time to get everything in that we want.

Wait, wha? This was supposed to what the next gen Madden was going to look like? *pfft*. Sheeyeah, right. Even with the MGS4 pics and their model quality, there's no way I could believe EA of all people could pump out a football game with all the players on the field looking like this, with a high quality stadium and so forth. Especially not 1st game into the gen... just me though.

High expectations +1
