So I went 2-2 at FNM with my R/B/W reanmiator deck I posted. The first match I should have won, I misplayed and cost me the 3rd match. The second loss was against an esper control I couldn't beat. I used unburial rites 5 or 6 times and he always had an answer whether dissipate, day of judgement, go for the throat, etc. in removal. Is there anything I could change to compete better? One game I got elesh norn turn 4 and another I got my griselbrand on turn 4. As far as the deck working I got like god hands both games to get my fatties out on turn 4 but they kept getting wiped and then he would just phantasmal image/sun titan and I could only clear the board so much. His titan bringing back the image was just too much. Is there anything I can do differently to combat esper control?

No creatures, it was all tap stuff of blue/white with think twice and 3 or 4 entreats and I think 1 or 2 tamiyo. So he stalls until entreat and then just swings. It's in the top 8 deck list on the last page.

If he's going to do that why not just add 4 delvers. Having only delvers as your creatures the odds of them flipping are enormous.

A Delver can get in for a lot, but on it's own it won't close a game before they find an answer and the extra damage won't be that useful when your win con is a big group of 4/4s.
 
He's playing a war of attrition. Since he has no follow up to the Delver the minute the other side gets something out that can fight it, it and every other Delver in the deck is pretty much rendered useless.

Better to tap stuff down for a few more turns until the angel miracle.
 
Grafdigger's Cage doesn't stop Curse of Misfortune or Bitterheart Witch, does it? Because both of those cards say "Search your library for a curse, and place it on the battlefield attached to target player"
 
Nope, it needs the "play" terminology to be affected by the second part of Grafdigger's.
 
Drafted DII this morning; ended up with a spider spawning deck. I'd never tried drafting that archetype before - turns out I had absolutely no idea what I was doing and got stomped. Hard. :)

But now I have the taste and I want to build that archetype for real...

Got my playset of Cavern of Souls and Temporal Mastery...all for 60 bucks! Only card I don't have a playset of from Avacyn is Entreat...once I have that, I'm done buying cards until October.

The store had all the above priced super silly. Had them double check with their computer, told the guy that that was wicked underpriced, but in his words "nobody is playing with them, so they're going to drop,man. I'm trying to move them before I lose my shirt."

Okey-dokey. I will gladly take them off yours hands then!

What the F did he have them at? Cavern's been steady at 20-25, and will likely go up from here, and Temporal Mastery's now in the 17-20 range (and probably going to drop more.)

I don't know. I just saw the stack and said "How much for these?" Needless to say, I am very happy.
 
Bleh, seems the boxes I ordered for $100 won't be coming after all... Not sure what I want to do. I'm tired of dumping the huge amounts of money in singles and boxes are like $120 shipped everywhere.

Probably not, not sure. I wouldn't mind other cards but I don't NEED them for decks I want to make. I wouldn't mind also having entreat and stuff but it's too pricey. The reason I've been going singles is it's cheaper and the shop by me is pretty much dead for trading so I can't exchange cards I open but cavern being normal rares I was hoping to make out pretty well for them. It sucks either way, since cavern is like $25 per still. :/

Edit: Not having the commons/uncommons is annoying too but again I guess a smaller issue.
 
My turbo fog doesn't use Karn or Garruk, instead I was using Jace and Gideon, and now obviously Tamiyo.
When I was first putting it together the card that wrecked me was Grand Abolisher.
Taught me very quickly that O-rings are key.
Now I also have the liberty of Terminus and Devastation Tide, and also changing out white sun zenith that I was using with Entreat the Angels.
I kept going back and forth between milling with Jace and Increasing Confusion as my win con to swarming with White Sun Zenith.
Now I have it down to a fine mix.

So, I decided to make my own card storage box. I got sick of the 5 slot ones...seems pretty self elf evident that the standard should be at least 6 slots (one for artifacts/multi-colors/tokens) so I went ahead and made this. The felt lining will help keep the cards in great shape, and I just like having the colors like that.

I'm working on getting the lid done, but in order to do that, I need some stencils of the mana symbols...and have you ever looked at the red mana symbol???? If you can cut that out, you're a scissor genius.

Very nice WW.

Opened a bunch of packs from the box I got today. Only Mythics so far are a Tibalt, a Malignus (both meh) and a Sigarda (yay!). Friend I was splitting with got a Misthollow Griffin (also meh). Got some nice rares and a surprising number of foils, though the only interesting foil was a Demonlord of Ashmouth. We still have some packs we're saving for drafting so there might be some goodies in there still.

Since it is just the two of us I think we're just going to do a Winston draft with 6 packs that all belong to the same person. That way we can draft without worrying about rare drafting and actually try to build a good deck.

For my two cents on the deck above, I'd throw in an Angel of Glory's Rise instead of that extra Hero in your sideboard. I have a deep, burning desire to watch that card go off and destroy a fool.
 
I would find a way to cram some Cloudshifts in that deck. That might not be the actual best card to include, but I totally love that card and there are a lot of tricks you can pull with the creatures in that deck.
 
Does anyone have a Kozilek they'd be willing to trade? I'm trying to secure one for FNM this week. Let me know what you're looking for, or I can post a trade list after I get home from work.

I may have one. I never use Eldrazi either. I'll check...a much easier prospect now.

I was considering this, but then i couldnt find many other white creatures with awesome etb (like blade splicer). I chose restoration angel over cloudshift because she works with honor and it doesnt hurt to have a flyer.

I might side in white zombie apocalypse for shits and giggles if i ever pull one lol.

Regarding land balance... Should i go down from 24? It is a weenie deck, but i do need that fourth land consistently to land the bladehold. If i do move down from 24, should i maindeck o rings in their place?

I think 24 is perfect, IMO. It's what I'd run with what you have.

I'm basically the 1st Prophet of the Non-Denominational Church of Cloudshift, and while I think it's very useful for you, I can't say it's necessary. I mean, it does dodge O-Ring and GFFT and Tragic Slip and Vapor Snag and

PUT IN CLOUDSHIFT!!!!!

You can also pull some fun shenanigans with rebonding Silverblade Paladin mid-combat, get additional pumps on your Champions, and get a bonus permanent exile with Fiend Hunter if you have an extra mana and a Cloudshift when you cast him.

Favorite cards from this set are Abundant Growth and Cloudshift. I see both of them being played for a long time too.

Wild Growth + Abundant Growth = AWESOME.

Lingering Souls doesn't power up CotP though, and he has plenty of 3 drops already.

narcosis219, I'd take out 2 Gather the Townfolks for Cloudshifts and main board 2 or 3 O-rings (taking out 1 Paladin, 1 Blade Splicer, and maybe 1 Restoration Angel. I like to also run 1 Faithless Shield. Add 2-3 Moorland Haunts because it adds values to all of your creatures and benefits from Honor of the Pure.
 
So I decided to make a deck with the new cards I got and some random old ones. I'm planning of cutting down a little on instants and creatures, so maybe some Students of Warfare instead of the other 1 mana cost. This is all just for casual play and it's 84 in total.
