From MTGSalvation with brand new account, but they look real enough.

EDIT: God Legacy is the most boring thing ever to watch. Land. Crack land. Brain storm. Counter brain storm. Counter counter brainstorm. Counter counter counter brainstorm. 20 minutes later, turn 2.

Legacy is actually quite interesting to watch, save for Countertop and Dredge decks. Counter wars do happen, but not over Brainstorm generally. If I were to have a complaint about watching legacy, it would be all of the shuffle effects.

And those keyrunes make me very sad if real. It simultaneously means that we're not getting Signets and likely not getting any manlands either.

Signets were definitely way too good and made mana fixing too easy. Giving control colors like UB and UW access to ramp at 2 colorless mana wasn't very good design either.

These seem pretty alright since it's one color or the other and not both.

We'll get manlands when we go back to Zendikar to stop the Eldrazi.

I don't play Legacy, so I'm not usually interested in watching it. With limited and constructed, even Modern, formats I at least know nearly any card that they play and can watch the match play out without confusion. I don't pay attention to much of Legacy, so a lot of the cards played I simply don't really know much or anything about.

Plus they give you a little bit more value as well, than simply being mana generators. Versatility is always a plus.

Edit:

Well shit. Eric Claar does a really really nice job on card alterations, but I could do a way better job on playmat art. :P

I should get into that.

I didn't expect to get Signets back exactly, but I was hoping for something better than this.

Apparently WotC believes that artifact ramp is in the same place as counterspells. 2 mana colorless ramp needs a downside (see Sphere of the Suns) and 3 mana colorless ramp needs an upside. The upside here just isn't good enough though.

I'm not even asking for a cycle like Zendikar - we're just now going to a place where the only manland is cycling out, and I like having a card in standard that fills that gap.

This is pretty depressing to watch. Not to mention boring.
I wonder if the G/W land that turns into a 8/8 is part of a cycle or not. It might not be considering it's the promo.
I doubt it's a cycle of manlands, as the token thing was designed to work specifically with populate.

It's also not a manland, at least not in the sense that I mean manland. To me, a manland is a land that can turn into a land for a turn, then goes back to being just a regular land (e.g. Inkmoth Nexus). The lands that sacrifice themselves to spawn a token are something else entirely, and I'm not at all a fan of them.

I don't think so, I think its just the Selesnya entry in the "Guildhall" cycle turns into a giant creature.

Oh shit! I have no idea why I didn't realize how well it interacts with populate before

Was just about to ask that! Yes, I'll most likely be there on Friday.

ATL MagicGAF players should meet up and play :)
You don't have Legacy staples, do you? :-P (Force/Wasteland lol)

I'm playing the INVI and basically have had zero time to deckbuild and am scrambling.

Nah, I sure don't. :(

Sorry buddy. I do, however, have a few friends with Legacy cards and I'll see if they're going to be tagging along too.

Gotcha. Yeah, that's rough. I maaaaaaaaaay play in the Standard tournament. That depends how my testing goes this week with my new changes to my deck.

SCG doesn't archive their feature matches anywhere other than TwitchTV, do they? Twitch has terrible performance here in Australia, and I have to run it through a corporate firewall on top of all that if I want to watch it at work.

I always like watching the super-degenerate Legacy decks (Dredge, Belcher, and to a lesser extent ANT). If I ever bought into that format, I'm pretty sure I'd end up there.

But yeah - Show and Tell is good! Get some Omniscience and go all out.

Or carry a large sign.

I've been really wanting to make some custom GAF card sleeves with the GAF symbol, but I'm not sure how I'll do that. Maybe there's a site that does custom sleeves...kind of obscure. lol

I'll go whip up a GAF t-shirt before the event though. I WILL represent the hood from which I hail.

There is a custom sleeve kick starter. Not sure if they're at the outside sales point yet though.

Yeah, I saw that. Couldn't find if they are actually selling yet.

Maybe there is some kind of thin gel adhesive paper I could print a design out on, and then apply to white sleeves. I'm sure I'd need to apply some form of sealant to it afterwards, but sleeves see SO much wear and tear that I'd worry about it getting really damaged really quickly.

Maybe an orange and gray sharpie to a set of white sleeves is what this endeavor will take.

Be careful with any of that. Don't want to catch a game loss for "marking" from some salty bastard you're owning.

On a side note, anybody have any reanimator pieces for trade? Entomb, exhume, reanimate? I'm also looking for the blue praetor to close out my Timmy cycle.

Don't do it. Even the slightest deviation in your sleeves falls under marking cards, and if you're playing competitively, you will get DQd.

Okay, I'm watching the Legacy archive, and they infuriatingly cut out the commentary that explained what happened at the end of the match. This is the feature match for Round #3.

You've got Hive Mind vs. Countertop Miracles. Game three. Hive Mind player gets his Hive Mind into play, but only has a Pact of Negation, so he passes with three lands and a tapped Grim Monolith.

Countertop guy plays Jace TMS, and Hive Mind guy Pacts it. And from what I saw, he didn't counter his own Pact.

Yet the commentators were talking like Hive Mind guy won, and the coverage cut out right at the handshake. Explain to me how Hive Mind guy doesn't auto-lose here. Did I miss something?

EDIT: Nevermind. I got it after reading the rulings/explanations on Hive Mind. It took a while though. Hive Mind guy's Pact "fizzles" because his opponent's Pact resolves first and is forced to counter Jace, leaving no valid targets for the other Pact.

Yes, please. More value creatures like that and I can forgive the "dies to vapor snag".

That blue card is weird, where does it fit into a gameplan?

Well, if your running several copies, then you can use that to gain card advantage when you draw the copy, then after five depleted, you get an extra turn.

My take on it. Unsure of though.

If you're playing control, it'll likely just sit there and maybe draw you 2-3 cards. But that's a lot of mana to spend for that privilege.

This clearly seems like a card that R&D made just to see if it anyone could figure out a deck that works with it.
