Yep. I managed to get 2, as I really want to do some Cackling Counterpart/Populate/Deadeye Navigator shenanigans with it. Same with Thragtusk, which I managed to get 2 more of yesterday.

Traded off 4x Gravecrawlers, 4x Geralfs Messengers, 1x Huntmaster of the Fells and my single Foil Omniscience (this hurt cus it's so beautiful, but it was worth $18 so I couldn't just hang onto it). Got the Thragtusks, Resoration Angels, lands, Trostani (now I have 1 foil and 1 regular Trostani) and other stuff.
Made out well enough, I think.

So, we agree that zombies are boned, finally? Heh.

I'm pretty excited about the U/W/B tools right now, personally.

I think zombies will continue to be a thing for the next month or so at the very least. I never play zombies though, so I don't know why I'm sitting on these cards.

I'm not sure I understand, 3 of the top 8 in SCG Cincinnati were zombies. Surely the deck isn't doing that bad and will survive once the meta stabilizes?

uggh, getting 3 more thragtusks, and 3 more armada wurms for my Selesnya conjuer'sccloset deck is gonna suck :|

I just spent all my money on a new Computer, so I got no monies

I'm sure it'll still be around as a force. But if you have zombie stuff that you will never play this is probably the time to dump em, what with them being so hot now.

You probably don't care as you are trying Conjurer's Closet, but no deck needs 4 Armada Wurms.

Well for 1, my zombie deck was far from competitive and I hardly played it. So I was basically just sitting on 8 money cards for almost no reason.

Secondly, they're at their highest now than they probably ever will be again so I figured now was the time to just hock them off. I do love those cards though, but I hate wasting value like that.

With a whole new block I think it's reasonable to assume that the current zombie archetype could be threatened by new lists and then lose value. The opposite could happen though, just the same.

Ah, I see.

Armada Wurm, Detention Sphere, that Sphinx lifegain/draw card. I do want the Jace but I don't know if I have the volume required to get him from you.

You are the most insecure trader ever. If you have a Lotleth troll or a Beastmistress, we can work out something with the Sphinx/Jace Zomboners.

Zaraki, you need to address the ass whuppin' that zombies bestowed upon your Delver creations. That much hate is NOT healthy. ;)

Strangely as someone who loves green and black I did not pull much g/b zombie love.
I do have 3 promo grave crawlers, a japanese grave crawler, an abrupt decay and a japanese geralfs messenger though.
Just in case...

I cannot find promo crawlers anywhere. :(

I guess I am haha

I'll PM you hahaha

Ugh, losing to entreat in draft is the worst feeling in the world.

Got a Bye. I guess that makes up for round 1's stompfest.

I never understood selling off or trading all your money cards this early unless your only goal is to make money. I am never playing the same deck in the beginning of a release as I am at the end (or half way through...or a quarter way...). After selling all my titans because I would never play a deck using them, I found myself needing them for a deck shortly after. After getting rid of my bobs back in the original ravnica block because I don't play self hate, I found myself desperately wanting some for a legacy deck. Jittes, swords, ravagers and on and on and on. So many cards that I said "oh I don't have any use for these" and just got rid of them. And when I realized I did need them, it cost me an goddamn arm and a leg to get them back. The best (worst?) example is force of will. I opened an avalanche of them back in the day and literally gave them away because I didn't play blue at the time.

I ended up just hanging on to everything until I had a playset and then selling or trading any excess. But then again I was a hoarder when it comes to cards.

Well, some people (like me) really only play standard. Or, you know you're not gonna play them. It would be cool if I got a Jace, but I don't have any ideas for interesting decks for him. Or, you've opened up so much product that you now have more than 4. I've got all the Loxodon Smiters and Grove of the Guardians I need, thanks!

I sell them because with very few exceptions, the price goes down drastically on every card. So, I can just collect the ones I want to play with if I'm missing one or two later at a fraction of what I sold them for. It's a by product of opening packs and not really wanting to hoard a ton of unplayable cards.

I guess I'm just a hoarder. For the most part once I got a playset, I'd sell the rest. But sometimes I'd have a hard time doing that even. I think I had something like 8 stromkirk nobles back when they were actually worth something decent. Just having all those nobles staring at me on that page of the binder was amusing enough that I never traded any. Same thing with massacre worm and geth, I had something like 6 or 7 of each opened through boosters and I just let them sit there.

I just hate that feeling of "damn! I had a bunch of those...shit son of a bitch!"

Ya, if you completely get rid of it you can never move into it before it jumps. Sort of depends on your tolerance. Now is the best time for certain cards though since they can't hold value and you can get cards for much cheaper than normal.

I did it with fauna shaman and the prime titan (when they debuted). I wasn't interested in green at all at the time, and I thought they were at their peak money wise. I watched in dismay as the shaman and the primeval titan doubled in price a few weeks later.
And then felt even more stupid a few months later when I needed playsets of both for decks.

I was still a nubhead when it came to understanding trading and card value at the time though, having just gotten back into the game.

Up against Mono Blue Mill. This guy has balls.

This deck is sooooo much better than my last deck. It's not terribly bomby but it has some HUGE SYNERGY engines.

1 x Goldnight Commander
1 x Champion of Lambholdt
2 x Thatcher Revolt
2 x Vigilante Justice
2 x Commander's Authority

My one regret is that I accidentally drafted Vessel of Endless Rest by accident because I clicked the screen the moment P3P1 loaded. I don't even know what I missed out on in the rare slot, I hope it wasn't too valuable.

Uuuugh. Draw 5 Mountains, have nothing but green spells.

Opened my half box today.

Good stuff was Blood Crypt, Overgrown Tomb, Hallowed Fountain, Detention Sphere, and Mizzium Mortars. Also got Niv Mizzet, Mercurial Chemister and Epic Experiment which will be fun for a casual Izzet deck. Also got every one of the goofy "look at all this text" rares.

My friend opening the other half got two Ash Zealots, an Abrupt Decay, Dreadbore, Jarad, Rakdos, and Trostani.

So that seemed like a pretty decent box overall.

Also, Winchester and other two person draft formats are a beautiful mess with this set. I went five colors then four colors.

So, uh, last pack of my second box just turned a really good box into an insane one. Thought I was at $140ish value.

Then the foil Jace appeared.

Thragtusk was $10 just a week or two ago, I guess States is causing a jump in prices for a lot of staple Rares.

I think I'm gonna wait until November before I buy any staples. Thragtusk will be in yet another event deck which should help the situation.

I pronounce it "mah-na" and have always pronounced that word that way since playing Secret of Mana as a kid. Grew up in a Mexican border town and me and my friends would pronounce it that way. White people at the shops in my college town tend to "correct" me and it gets annoying so for the most part I now say "land base" and try to avoid using the term unless I have to.

Pretty even value split between the two of you. I don't like splitting packs in a box because one guy can wind up getting ROYALLY shafted. I don't split boxes period anymore, but if I was to do it in the future I would split value with the other party, drafting rares turn by turn.

Lucky bastard. I opened a middling box worth maybe around $120, pie-in-the-sky SCG value, so about $60 real world value. No decay, no Jace, and no noteworthy foils, but I did open Rakdos Returns, Trostani, Vraska, a Sphere, a Dreadbore, and three shocks. Could have been worse! Going to try to draft Friday-Saturday-Sunday, hoping for better luck than I had during pre-release and to maybe trade off the stuff that's stupidly expensive right now.

My friend just got his box in, he's decided to basically do free drafting with us but its $10 to redraft three rares at the end, which is awesome for me because I'm going to be a bit short on money some weeks. Still, next few months are going to rock

Wowwwwww

Box REDEEMED
3rd one was pretty meh, but box 2 had 2 Niv-Mizzet, 1 Wurm, 1 E.Expiriment, 1 Dreadbore, 1 Troll, 1 Deathrite Shaman, 1 Sphere, 1 Isperia, 1 Verdict, a Desecration Demon, a normal Jace, 3 shocklands AND the foil Jace.

This sorta makes up for the 2 Jace, TMS+ a foil Jace TMS box I sold to my friends cause I had my playsets of Worldwake cards already. :-P

Best.

Deck.
Ever.

He's very good in one deck - Storm, as a way to win while they sideboard out their critter removal and bring in spell removal instead.

He's also a cute answer to Hive Mind, in that they simply can't win as long he's on the table.

But I'm thinking Standard. I have this feeling that there's a deck out there somewhere that could make this guy a turn 2 beater and keep him protected.
