So I am not exactly sure about the rules of this specific thread, but recently I gave up MTG a while back and now I am selling my cards that are worth anything. Is it kosher to sell them here or provide a Google Docs spreadsheet to what I have that people would be interested in or should I move that to the Buy/Sell/Trade thread?

FYI - Most of what I have is older stuff like Force of Will, as well as some Urza's stuff.

Yeah, you can list them here.

Thanks for the response! Here is my list of stuff I am selling right now:

https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc...nA1cHFwd0UtMlZDNGNfalE&hl=en&authkey=CKP1-fkG

Please note that I would much rather send stuff in bulk instead of doing 20 side deals, although I know people are looking for singular cards to round out their competitive decks. I will probably prefer to sell to people buying in bulk, so sorry in advance if you feel slighted! We can work out shipping and payment details in PM if you are interested.

Thanks for the free ad space!

Edit: These prices were thrown together from a collection of buy/sell/trade sites, they can be negotiated on basis of current market value and condition!

I've been waiting the past two months for this shit. Bring on New Phyrexia! I'd go to both pre-releases if possible, but I can only make Sunday's.

PRERELEASE tomorrow! Only a sleep away! I cant wait!
(BTW Can we use transparent card protector sleeves for the newly opened cards if we are to play with them?)

So I used to play this way back in public/high school. I have over 10k cards, lots of old shit. How much would shit like that go for no adays?

Dig through and look for stuff of value. You're not likely to sell them all individually unless they are heavily sought after.

$10 for the lot. Send me your PayPal account info.

Actually you might be sitting on a treasure Trove if its older stuff.

Good luck to all the Gaffers heading out to prereleases tomorrow. (Unless you end up sitting opposite me :P) Hopefully, I should be able to make it to two.

I've got a question about Karn's -14 ability. So you both reshuffle your decks and start like nothing ever happened and both go back to 20 life but the exiled cards are on your side of the field? So turn 2 you can attack with everything?

Karn's first and third abilities are linked. Similarly, Karn's second and third abilities are linked. Only cards exiled by either of Karn's first two abilities will remain in exile when the game restarts.

A game that restarts immediately ends. The players in that game then immediately begin a new game. No player wins, loses, or draws the original game as a result of Karn's ability.

In a multiplayer games (a game that started with three or more players in it), any player that left the game before it was restarted with Karn's ability won't be involved in the new game.

The player who controlled the ability that restarted the game is the starting player in the new game. The new game starts like a game normally does:

Each player shuffles his or her deck (except the cards left in exile by Karn's ability).
Each player's life total becomes 20 (or the starting life total for whatever format you're playing).
Players draw a hand of seven cards. Players may take mulligans.
Players may take actions based on cards in their opening hands, such as Chancellors and Leylines.
After the pre-game procedure is complete, but before the new game's first turn, Karn's ability finishes resolving and the cards left in exile are put onto the battlefield. If this causes any triggered abilities to trigger, those abilities are put onto the stack at the beginning of the first upkeep step.

Creatures put onto the battlefield due to Karn's ability will have been under their controller's control continuously since the beginning of the first turn. They can attack and their activated abilities with in the cost can be activated.

Any permanents put onto the battlefield with Karn's ability that entered the battlefield tapped will untap during their controller's first untap step.

No actions taken in the game that was restarted apply to the new game. For example, if you were dealt damage by Stigma Lasher in the original game, the effect that states you can't gain life doesn't carry over to the new game.

Players won't have any poison counters or emblems they had in the original game.

In a Commander game, players put their commanders into the command zone before shuffling their deck.

The number of times a player has cast his or her commander from the command zone resets to zero. Also, the amount of combat damage dealt to players by each commander is reset to 0.

If a player's commander was exiled with Karn at the game restarted, that commander won't be put into the command zone at the beginning of the game. It will be put onto the battlefield when Karn's ability finishes resolving.

In a multiplayer game using the limited range of influence option, all players are affected and will restart the game, not just those within the range of influence of the ability's controller.

Pre-release done. I have done horrible. Something like 2-4 out of 6 turns.
Anyways, while the INDIVIDUAL cards were awesome, they were too unfocused to build a good deck around them. Started as Green/Black infect, then Green/Red infect~ish, then went to Black/White inf/control instead. Blah.

But, the cards I got.... let us see:
Scars of Mirrodin rares:
Mox Opal (yaay?)
Putrefax
Grand Architect
Chimeric Mass (foil!)

New Phyrexian rares:
Sheoldred, ofc, foil, but that is a given
Torpor Orb (foil!)
Lashwrithe
Phyrexian Metamorph
Etched Monstrosity

So, the funny thing about this is that once a foiled rare pops up, there is another rare. So not only did I get 2 mythic rare's, there was an additional two rare also :D So it kinda evens out...until I heard that one proxy-happy guy sold a foiled sword of his for 50$.... bah.

I have some 3rd Edition cards that were never used (I didn't like the game when I first tried it) and want to get rid of them. I went through them and on some online sites, one of my cards seems to go for a good price. Is it better to sell them on ebay or to the local comic book shop?

I got a despise (1 swamp cost, look at targets hand and destroy creature or planeswalker of choice) and 2 full art foil lands.

My deck performed soooo welll! Kinda surprising really. Didn't pull anything crazy but definetly got some useful cards. Going back tomorrow, Mothers Day be damned!

I got to the shop at 7 pm friday and stayed for about 24 hours of nonstop magic. FNM 7-midnight, then a midnight prerelease (58 people), then a draft around 8 am, then the Saturday prerelease (50-ish people). When I left this evening people were already doing a separate sealed event and side drafts, so the store likely closed within the last hour.

I do love these weekends. Checking out new cards, lots of huge tournaments, bullshitting with friends, taking shots out back between rounds, food specials from the place next door plus our own fresh-made cake and cookies, throwing the frisbee around during rounds. I love my store.

Ugh, I did so shitty today. Even the rares I pulled were crap except I got the green praetor. We went through over 2 boxes and no one got a Karn then a kid bought one of the intro packs and he pulled a karn.

Went 3-2-1...and was ranked 9th when top 8 went up :/ I fucking hate missing top 8 by one place. Should be happy that I managed a better record than 16 other players but fuck that, i'm a sore loser.

Doesn't help that the tie should have been a win. We ran out of time and went into "last 5 turns" but my opponent indicated we should just finish it up with how ever many turns it takes since it was obvious one of us was going to win soon. We hit turn 5, it's his turn, I bring him down to three at the end of turn and he knows i'm holding burn in my hand and he announces that it's turn 5 and it has to end in a draw. Of course judge is going to side with him because turns were called, but it still pisses me off that he went back on his decision when it became clear I was going to win. And my second loss was to a guy who apparently ended up being accused of cheating by putting extra rares into his deck. Don't know if it was true or not, but if so, thats another game that should have counted as a win. Oh well.

I went red/black
Card wise, I noticed that Artillerize (sacrifice a creature/artifact to do 5 damage to a player), Geths verdict (opponent sacs a creature and loses a life), volt charge (deal 3 damage to creature or player and proliferate), and slash panther (4/2 haste) were extremely useful.
And the two stars outside of the Koth I happened to pull were Vault Skirge (1/1 flying lifelink) which was always an epic first turn play that more than made up for the 2 life I had to pay for it. And the other was Pristine Talisman (tap to add 1 mana and gain 1 life). Pristine talisman was especially a surprise as I almost didn't include it but everytime I got it out, it was a extremely useful. It helped make up for all the life I paid for phyrexian cards (like the vault skirge). A few games I had it out for 10 turns or so and it kept my alive while I waited for my burn/kill spells. I highly recommend anybody who is drafting to use it along with vault skirge.

oh and the three rares I got from New Phyrexia were complete junk.

Ya, even if you didn't need the mana the ability to sit and gain a life every turn helped me make a cushion for myself in a couple games which was nice.

Ive got a ruling question. If a creatures has an ability that states " at each opponents upkeep, each player sacrifices one creature" and another player has leyline of sanctity out, does the he not have to sac a creature? The group i play with was split because half thought that the ability did target each player globally and the other half said it didn't because the card didn't explicitly say target player.

Also during a Sealed Tournament, your sideboard is all the other cards you didn't use, then you could change your entire deck between rounds right?

If a card doesnt say Target, then something like the Leyline wont stop it. That creature will still result in the players sacrificing things.

Yes, same with drafts.

Played a pre-release event today, came out 3-2, placing 9th on six packs of crappy pulls. One guy pulled 4 mythics in his 6 packs, including a Karn and Sword of Body & Mind, lucky bastard. At least I pulled a Puresteel Paladin and a Hex Parasite from my 2 prize boosters.

All in all, a fun few rounds. The shop has been giving away the Kamigawa statues with all their recent events as participation prizes (they have a huge overstock), so I've got an Ink-Eyes, Kiki-Jiki, and Eight-and-a-Half Tails statue that I don't know what to do with sitting my car. I'd eBay them, but the shipping would run way too much.

Went 0-8 yesterday at my very first tourny. LOL I'm so terrible. XD

2 opponents owned me with Souleater alone. I hate the fact that the card doesn't say it can be pumped with mountains. The pay two life ability is neat. This guy was able to bring out several creatures with just 2 mana and most had lifelink (these had flying too). It's like oh, gain the life I just lost cool.

My buddy pulled that Plainswalker that can reset the game. Apparently he was the only one to pull a Plainswalker at my store and that card is already going for $50.

Inkmoth Nexus confuses me to no end.

These are the questioned scenarios:

a) I can tap it for mana and turn it into a creature. From what I understand, I can't attack due to it having Summoning Sickness. The card says Inkmoth Nexus becomes creature (if using ability) until end of turn. Does that mean when I initally summoned the creature, it's already reverting back into a land at end of turn? Sounds like it's only a defensive card if I have to turn it back to land at end of turn.

b) Say I summoned it turn 1 and it stays a creature. Will I still need to pay a mana on turn 2 to keep it a creature to attack with? Can I still tap Inkmoth at the same time for mana?

ex.
t1 - Inkmoth -> tap for mana and turn into creature
t2 - Attack -> bring out forest (is that two mana I can spend?)

Finally found someone else at my college to play Magic with! Too bad we both had to leave for the semester before we could get a game in... maybe next semester...

Summoning sickness only affects permanents that entered the battlefield as creatures. If a noncreature permanent turns into a creature after it's already on the 'field, it's able to attack and use abilities that have tapping as a cost.

And yes, it "becomes" a creature, but keeps its original permanent types too, so it's a "Land Creature" until the end step. This is always the case unless it's explicitly stated that the other permanent types go away.

Inkmoth Nexus' ability lasts until end of turn when you pay the cost. You could pay the cost with its own mana, but then you'd just have a tapped land creature.

So-called "man-lands" like Inkmoth Nexus are valued for their ability to give you access to both a land and a creature, even when you're having bad luck and not drawing the creatures you want. Mutavault is another well known and widely played man-land.

This is incorrect. An animated land does in fact have summoning sickness if that permanent has not been under your control since the beginning of your turn. It could still tap for mana however as the rules governing lands are different.

Was too tired for the midnight pre-release Friday and then got sick the rest of the weekend, missed everything. Oh well, I already preordered my Mental Missteps and that's the main card I was looking for.

I splurged after getting some extra comp pay/shift bonus and bought a Moat, though. Been wanting one of those for a while, a while being "ever since I first started playing in Revised". Even back then Moats were hard to trade for (Serra Angel/Mahamoti Djinn/Serendib Efreet didn't help things).

It could only tap for mana if it wasn't animated. If you play Inkmoth Nexus and then immediately animate it, you can't tap it for mana that turn.

But you can't attack after animating it the turn you put it out, you can only tap it for mana or turn it into a creature but it can't attack.. Any turn after that when it is animated it won't have summoning sickness. Same thing with Koth's ability. The mountain won't have summoning sickness unless you play that mountain that turn.

You can animate it the turn you put it out. Just can't attack unless something else grants it haste.

Weird how complex this game is. I remember when I first started out and played against my friend I casted a dark ritual and could have sworn it produced 3 lands. Now I know a lot better but certain stacking and layering rules that the game has, even trouble with certain combat step rulings, I am baffled and we have to look up. It seems crazy that after 4+ of playing a game I still have trouble grasping some of the ruling concepts. From a simple burn deck to death & taxes, the game has such incredible range.

Ya, also what frustrated me when I was younger. Priority and stuff was always confusing as hell back then.

Thats actually one of the most common new player mistakes I've seen. A lot of players who think that Pyretic Ritual gives them a permanent that taps for RRR

I think a more general statement of the summoning sickness rule is that every permanent gets "summoning sickness" when they are played, but it only matters for creatures in that they can't tap.

Well, now that I finally finished DotP, I'm ready for the second one. Sarkon the Final was such a bitch. I had to switch to the second mono-red to beat him because of all his shitty creature removals.

I don't really understand this. Only creatures get summoning sickness. All other permanents don't. Artifacts/lands/enchantments. Don't. I think it's as simple as that.
