Wait wait wait. Targets are chosen at the time of triggering. It never resolves because it doesn't get a legal trigger, regardless of which order they're placed on the stack.
Damn your edit! I was just about to say that! :lol Myr will have to target the opposing player unless there's another creature on the battlefield.
Here's a fun active/non-active player discussion: both players have a Huntmaster of Fells. Player A passes turn and does nothing; player B does nothing either and it moves to his upkeep. Who gets to keep their Ravager? Player A? B? Both? Neither?
I'm done to play whatever. I'm kinda going through a MTG resurge thanks to MTGO and finally sorting out my cards. It was desperately needed. I found hundreds of dollars of stuff I had forgotten about and was just sitting on like a dumbass.
I would love to play more local games, but honestly, being married gets in the way of that a bit.
True, I love being able to play in my underwear at 2am if I want. While eating spaghetti. (Although the fiancee would probably leave me haha).
It was an example haha. I'm usually on weekend daytimes.Ah. You're online at 2am. That explains why you're never online![]()
Went to a standard tournament at some shop I've never been to before, went 7-1 and took first, netting me a nice playmat with "champion" written on it. Played mono green aggro and stomped all the usual suspects, red burn, ramp, wolf run, delver, and so on. Blue black control was my only loss, which I redeemed with a 2-1 win against the same guy in the top 8. Outside of u/b control it was ridiculous, I slaughtered every major deck I played against, mono green is nasty.
Damn dude. After reading all of your crazy life stories over the years on GAF, I can hardly believe you're a badass Magic player on top of all the other shit. :lol
Man, siddx.
You have it made.

You remind me of a friend who looks and acts like a jock but is quite nerdy who plays fighting games and watches sappy anime hardcore. (not saying you do those thing!)

He does. He loves anime and Kamye West love ballads in equal measure.
You know it's true siddx.
Last night I saw two guys playing with some Power 9s including several Black Lotus, and yet they were proxying things like counterspells. What the hell did I witness?
you sure they were power? they make some pretty impressive proxies that look pretty similar. If they were, I can only assume they spent their life savings on power and can't afford any other cards lol
The shop owner where I played owned a bunch of power nine, including two black lotus (a revised and a beta). Had some of it on display and for sale. Had to restrain myself from blowing my savings. Really nice guy too, it's a shame his shop isn't closer.
I can't really be sure, but the one guy was showing Time Walk off. I have a really crusty old ass shop that has a bunch of power 9s and dual lands. The guy refuses to use the internet and instead uses the last printed price guide he could find. The internet is trying to rip him off, you see.
Well hopefully he keeps that attitude because as prices rise his dumb ass will stay at the same price. Buying cards from shops is foolish anyways (although I break down and do so once in a while). I was going to pick up two show and tells for 40 each yesterday until I realized I could get them for 25 each online.
Yeah, on the other hand he still thought Shiva Dragons were valuable. So, there's that.

It totally slipped my mind that this weekend was GP Baltimore. I know a whole bunch of my friends from NYC made the trip there. Checking the standings only one of them made day two but he's climbing the ranks. I wish him luck. Does anyone remember the cutoff point for a PT invite from a GP finish?
I plan on retiring on what I'll make selling off my Serra Angels.
I do this all the time. I don't have power or huge Type 1 cards (besides Mana Drains), but even with all my expensive Type 1/1.5 cards I've still had to proxy even the most basic things at times. For example, I was using a RUG Delver deck a few weeks ago. Forces, loads of duals and fetches, goyfs, expensive deck, but proxied $1 Delvers since I didn't have any with me.
Man, I'm kinda shocked at how broken the Mirrorworks/Disciple of the Vault/Myr Retriever/Krank-Clan Ironworks combo is. Infinite damage!
(BRB, making stupidly broken deck)
A simple and easy broken combo is Knowledge Pool + Curse of Exhaustion.
But they are bad cards on their own and super slow.
I could see Curse of Exhaustion being really useful in a green/white spirit deck.

I thought Jackie was a dude till I saw her wedding ring. Hope she wins this thing.

Say I have a Curse of Death's Hold (gives -1/-1 to enchanted player's creatures) enchanted onto me. I have a Celestial Purge in my graveyard. Can I cast Snapcaster Mage, flashback Celestial Purge to exile Curse of Death's Hold, and keep my Snapcaster alive?
I realized I will never truly understand how stacks work. XD
The Snapcaster will die in the process, since when it comes into play, the -1/-1 is still active, so it comes in, its trigger targeting purge goes on the stack, it then dies. That's a common scenario, actually.Say I have a Curse of Death's Hold (gives -1/-1 to enchanted player's creatures) enchanted onto me. I have a Celestial Purge in my graveyard. snapcaster mage + black sun's zenith.
I exiled it or shuffle it back?

When you flashback a spell, it's always exiled, even if it would go elsewhere as part of resolution. (The Zeniths and Wishes are the cards mainly affected by this, as well as when Remand is cast on a flashback'd spell.)snapcaster mage + black sun's zenith.
