Kinda rambled a bit but I hope it's useful.
Is there a link that shows off what's going on at PAX East Magic-wise?
Also, I don't know what a Cube draft is. Google to the rescue lol

Deck construction absolutely baffles me (once you get beyond casual play with friends or drafts). You say Black Cat is absolutely "worse" than Highborn Ghoul, and while I have no reason to dispute that, I have no idea why. Where would one go to find good resources for construction theory?
Fixed my deck(mostly), what do you think? ^_^
There were cards I wanted a lot(4 Birds of Paradise) but were too expensive :-(
I don't know any cheap 1-mana cards that help me build lands or whatever.
Oops, forgot to order 2 more Captured Sunlight. Oh well, maybe on my next fix when I save up for some good 1-mana things.
A friend of mine posed an interesting theory the other day. The problem isn't counterspell itself, but that there are too many counterspells in general. He posits that eliminating everything but vanilla counterspell would be a good fix. It's too late for that now, but it's an interesting thought

Avacyn's Pilgrim might be what you need.
Looks good! Is this an MTGO deck?

My latest in the line of ultra annoying standard decks:

Tried it out tonight and went 5-0, won 3 with a flipped test subject. Such a frustrating deck to play against.
Looks pretty awesome. Got to wonder, why Sheoldred and not Messanger? I mean, if you're going to annoy...
Geralf's messenger? I don't have any yet, also why I don't have go for the throats as well.
Sweet! I'll take a look once I get home.Alright, as promised, my tradelist. If you have one, post it up and let's get this thread moving again!

Going to a tournament in Orlando in April, and this is the list I'll probably be bringing along with me:
Creatures
4x Champion of the Parish
3x Avacyn's Pilgrim
3x Elite Inquisitor
3x Loyal Cathar
3x Mayor of Avabruck
4x Mirran Crusader
3x Fiend Hunter
2x Angelic Overseer
Spells
4x Honor of the Pure
4x Oblivion Ring
3x Gather the Townsfolk
2x Lead the Stampede
Mana
4x Sunpetal Grove
4x Razorverge Thicket
2x Gavony Township
8x Plains
4x Forest
Side-board
3x Thalia, Guardian of Thraben
3x Marrow Shards
3x Gut Shot
3x Divine Offering
3x Day of Judgement
I can foresee a large number of token builds, as well as lots of delvers, so that's the reasoning for the Marrow Shards and Gut Shots in the sideboard. I would love to main-deck Thalia, probably over Loyal Cathar, though I've recently upped the number of non-creature spells in the main-board so I had to relegate her to the side-board.
I've been debating in my head whether or not to bring this deck (one I've been working on since the beginning of INN, and loving) or to put together a R/G Wolf Run type of deck since I just opened my 4th Huntmaster of the Fells, problem is I only have 2x Primeval Titans and I'm not super willing to throw down the money for two more right now (I'll try to trade for them in time, but if not...G/W Humans it is). Nor do I have any Green Sun's Zeniths...Wolf Run would be pricey for me, basically, as much as I love that archetype.
EDIT:
So if anyone has 1-2 Primeval Titans for trade, let me know! I'll put together a trade list of what I have at the moment.
Best to play a deck you know inside and out. If you know this deck better than one you haven't built yet (and chances are you do) then you should stick with what you know. It's so much easier to make misplays when you're uncomfortable with a deck.
Pulled a DA Sorin and Angelic Destiny today over lunch. Whoop!
Sigh, you don't know how bad I want an Angelic Destiny.![]()
I'm almost selfishly hoping that Avacyn Restored is a crappy set so I don't have to spend lots of money on it. Where are the leaked cards lol
Power Creep 2.0
I just hope AR doesn't ruin Innistrad block drafting. It's such a great set for limited, you can make all kinds of crazy awesome decks. With AR losing all the fun mechanics of IS/DA I'm kind of worried.
It will be drafted separately from DA/INN since it is a big set.

I hope they decide to revisit Ravnica after Avacyn.
Set codename L, S, and D?
Oh? Interesting.
I want a return to Lorwyn at some point, but not soon. I want some crazy new setting after Avacyn. Like, some really weird tripped out place.
What plane was Weatherlight/Tempest/Stronghold? And does the Mirage/Visions plane have a name? That was probably my favorite block aside from maybe Ravnica...though I haven't touched anything between RAV and INN yet.
Those were all Dominaria.

I'd love to see them return to Dominaria, hopefully in the desolate areas that were nearly destroyed from the Phyrexian invasion and not otaria where Odyssey took place.
I've heard the next set is going to be a whole new plane though. I like the Innistrad plane a lot but a new high fantasy plane will be great as well.
These islands are the result of the devastated land coughing up enormous volcanic eruptions. When the magma cooled, they formed tunnels of igneous rock. Then the gases from those eruptions corrupted the clouds, creating storms of acid rain that fell around them, in turn creating sickly pools. These are the islands of Time Spiral Block.
Hey guys.
How about sum steampunk.
(Wouldn't it be cool to have a set set in some modern times? Like 19th or 20th century technology/fashion)
I would like them to keep as far away from anything resembling reality as possible, personally. But I think that's how they come up with a lot of their artifacts... by going "How can we MTG-ify steampunk?"
