Amazing what this guy can do. And I love QBs who pass.

He doesn't even look big or anything, but can probably throw a football farther than anyone else.

What time is it?
Weird that it's that long, seems that would hurt him in the long run with how QB salaries balloon but he's probably going to get massive guaranteed money. Well deserved.

Dak am cry.

Good for him. But I have to wonder why KC would do this. Not the contract but just the length. 10 years is a long ass time. I understand signing him to a new deal, but 10 years is nuts for anyone.

He's going to be the top paid guy no matter what and longer contracts usually favor teams and not players If he stays healthy, years 5-10 will probably look like a bargain. And NFL contracts are easy for teams to wiggle out of.

I'm not sure this was a wise decision for Kansas City, especially when so many changes can happen in that time. He's very deserving of the praise, but when there's so much firepower it makes his job easier and those weapons aren't going to be around forever. Quarterbacks like Russell Wilson who have carried mediocre teams in the grinder that is the NFC and still taking them to the playoffs is a more appropriate example of elite QB play.

You cant guaranty consistency and condition, hes getting money guarantee even if hes not delivering or get injured, also in the long run Qb salary gonna jump even more than this, securing him right now might be a bargain in the long run.

Things about to get a whole lot tougher for the Chiefs.

Analytics suggests teams are at their best when their QB is on their rookie contract. Eating up that much of the cap isn't helpful.

The cap is scheduled to go up in the coming years, so the Chiefs are actually getting ahead of it.

It's gone up consistently over the last 26 years. Doesn't mean spending that much on one player is great for long term success.

There's a reason why Tom Brady took less than he could have. He didn't want (Bill Belichick) to hamstring the rest of the team.
