Damn. What happens if I turn of the PS4 while downloading in the background? Will the download pause where it is or will I lose all the files and have to restart the whole thing?

A fairly detailed one has already been released, though there are always changes they fail to mention.

System crash while going into rest mode. Also system will not recognize my thumb drive. So far, par for the course.

Updated the system this morning. Played some Shadow Warrior and then put it in Rest Mode to charge my controller. Now it will not turn on. Pressing Ps button turns the controller on. Power button seemingly does nothing while eject elicits a beep. Any way to get this to power on?

Never use that stuff, charge your control on your cable box or but a dock charger, rest mode also takes tons of electricity aka light bill.

A small number of PS4s wont turn on after being put in rest mode. Unplugging then plugging in the PS4 fixes this.
It's still a PS4.

Rest mode is borked for a few of us atm.
I pretty much shut down my PS4 right now. I'll wait until a fix is issued before going to put it to rest again.

I'm pretty sure you can access videos and screenshots of a particular game from their live area now.
Oh please you act like this makes PS4 feel like ps 4.5, the hype came from not having an update in a long time.
It doesnt even have the pause/resume feature hyped a year ago, which really isnt all that because it needs Rest mode who wants to wast Kws on that?.

It's just a rebrand of Standby because it sounds less technical/people are dumb. It's allegedly a bit faster but basically the same thing

Rest Mode is just renamed Standby Mode.
I posted this a few pages back, but I really recommend doing a Power Off after you update. There seems to be some bug with going to Rest Mode right after you update, it corrupts the dB (which will rebuild).

It's what used to be called Standby.
So the only thing you were looking forward to this update was the YouTube app? I'm sure it will be fixed soon enough.

The PS4 YouTube app doesn't have horrible overscan like the PS3 one.

You should hold your finger on the power button for a good 15 seconds to force power it down. Unplugging is bad.

SharePlayed Sportsfriends and Tower Fall with a friend. Excellent co-op games that don't come with an online option, perfect fits for this feature, and it worked wonderfully, had a lot of fun.
That's the hook of the feature for me, being able to try your friend's games or help them through challenging parts is fun and all, but man, not needing online multiplayer built in to be able to do that is amazing.

Why is all of a sudden everyone calling it a "Rest" mode? It says "Standby" right in the menu where you chose it from. *edit* ah ok, I missed the last few posts. Yeah, never calling that a "rest" mode.
You say this like they are wrong for complaining about something that pretty much anything that can download has.

Oh man. Tlou music theme would be insane.
I love this update! Finally something! Really bummed that the themes dont change icon color. So I settled with dark blue.
My most requested feature since the beginning and I'm choosing dark blue. Haha. I just hate that bright blue!

Sigh. Unplugging it allowed me to turn the system back on. Of course it had to check storage integrity and such. Doesn't appear to be any damage but the system saw fit to yell at me for shutting it down improperly. Yeah because I totally wanted to be forced to unplug it...

No, all I can do is change the colors but trying to view the additional ones on the store leads to an error that says, content is not available.

This is a huge deal for me if true. I won't hold my breath though considering most people thought the quality was "great" (yeah they actually described it as great) before. So I'll have to try it out myself.

Thankfully, upon a hard reboot and another database build, everything's working good again. The Playstation Live app is 1000 times better now that you can go through the list of all games, filter by language, favorite users, check out archived footage, etc. So much fucking better. And I never knew how much I'd missed having music on my system.
