Major PS4 System Software Update v2.0 Available NOW

USB music works awesome. I put the 'Nirvana: In Utero 20th Anniversary" on without any problems.

- Format your USB to FAT32, create folder called "music" on your USB, and put the music in there.

Does it have folder support? Album support? Playlist support? Or is everything in one giant list, and any folders within "MUSIC" are ignored? This is the difference between a subpar music player and a decent one, and I can't test it now. If someone could help me out here it'd be appreciated.

What's the verdict on the themes that are available? Anything decent or at least aesthetically pleasing? I rocked the Flower theme most of last gen.

Just hate bloatware. I have fresh installs of Windows on all my computers and I run vanilla android on all my devices, also carrier-unlocked.

If you want me to use your product, make it good. Don't make it impossible to remove.

That should be a requested feature but no one makes a petition for them at the PS Blog feedback page. I would also like to have the ability to send those apps to the Library folder (away from the Dashboard for good).

Folder support. Haven't tried playlist support.

Some really nice little things they updated that weren't in bullet points. Overall, with Themes and the YouTube app coming later today, this is a pretty major update. I hope that they start rolling out updates on a monthly schedule the way Microsoft is doing it, but I'm pretty happy with this.

15 most used items yet Sony's music and video service, which I've never launched once, still remain in my dock. GTFOH.

Everything feels snappier though, especially PS Store.

Do we know if they will go the library eventually or do they stay in the 14 and 15 spot?

Also I like the idea of different color themes but anything other than the default blue feels off. Could be the that the default apps still have a blue tint, ie: browser, TV, Photo Gallery, Live from PS. Looks weird with the different background colors.

It's a shame the only change in background in the themes is on the home screen. It would have been nice to have it running throughout. Hopefully we get to customise themes by changing sounds and what not further down the road.

Rectangle theme is my favourite at the moment. Paper theme is cute, but I'm not keen on the music on the Spiral theme. Doesn't really fit in to me.

Orders get recognized. You can play them all at once or just one album/mix on repeat or shuffle. It's just a basic simple player but doing the job fine. It even shows you the album cover when available.

It's subpar but functional. I think this was just a placeholder, until they sort out a better one.

There is no way of queuing up a custom list of albums, it recognises folder structure, but you either play one album or play all on the drive. Pretty bare bones.

For a major year 1 update, this is pretty barebones. Sony really need to invest into a bigger team for their OS updates.

we're still in the first year and you have to actually use the OS to see the changes .
I don't see how it's "barebones" when it's adding so much stuff.

I agree. Everyone crapping their pants over some pretty basic stuff, in my opinion.

Share play is basic stuff ?

Did you try Shareplay?

Revolutionary to be honest.

That is very cool and I still need to try it, but we should have suspend and resume by now and it shouldn't have taken nearly a year to get something basic like pausing downloads. I just feel like Sony could do so much more in this area, MS seems to introduce new features and tweaks so damn quickly while Sony is slow to react.

Still couldn't try it out for myself so maybe someone can help me out here. How does the music player organize your tracks? Is it possible to create several sub folders according to album or such, or all yiu can do is just dump everything in there and then it auto sorts things? thanks in advance

After the update, is anyone else's "What's New" tab just displaying "Connect more with friends" and nothing else?
Mine just wouldn't load nor recent activities under profile. Same with game information in the live area. That was an hour or two ago.

You can create folders (not on the console) on the drive, as long as you put everything in a folder named "Music".

Every game now needs the option to mute music, was playing Destiny just now where you can't and it sounded horrible.

Redbox Instant, a dead service, being listed as a game in the library just underlines the need of being able to erase games and apps from your PS4 completely. Same goes for those demos I'm never going to download again.

Yeah, I've noticed that too.

It only works if you switch back to the default blue colour.

Edit: Maybe not.. could swear it was working earlier

Sorry if this has already been asked and answered, but has anyone managed to get Share Play co-op to work with Sportsfriends..?

I tried a few times and got a error message about region differences, but Trine 2 and Mercenary Kings worked just fine in co-op with the same person. So far when it works it seems to work really well for me.

sooo I updated ok this morning still a little scared to update my white ps 4 does anyone else's system make a little sqweaking noise now like the fans are working a little harder or something it did it once I booted it up, and when I started Destiny.
